  1. Espeon
  2. - Magic Bounce, Choice Specs, Modest, 252 SpA, 4 SpD, 252 Spe
  3. - Psychic (Because Espeon)
  4. - Doesn't realistically hit anything important. Maybe Shadow Ball instead, to hit MMetagross and Latios harder?
  5. - Grass Knot (Omastar)
  6. - Hidden Power Ground (100% OHKO on Utility Heatran - Can't OHKO 252 HP, 252 SpD Heatran 100% of the time, but they aren't a threat)
  7. - Trick (Suicune, or Chansey)
  8. Set gives you an out to Chansey, Suicune, Omastar, and Heatran, while checking status moves. Most importantly, stops Stealth Rock by checking all of the relevant Stealth Rock setters on his team and bouncing back Rocks on switches, which lets Charizard-Y check Mega Metagross, Shaymin and Escavalier in turn. Has to be Choice Specs Modest 252 SpA or it won't guarantee an OHKO on 252 HP Heatran.
  9.
  10.
  11. Scrafty
  12. - Shed Skin, Assault Vest, Adamant, 252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 SpD
  13. - Knock Off (Nets an OHKO on Latios outright, and also lets you break Chansey's Eviolite)
  14. - High Jump Kick (General wallbreaking. Notably, High Jump Kick lets you still net the KO if Chansey Soft-Boileds on the turn that you Knock Off)
  15. - Drain Punch (Even with minimum rolls, against standard Chansey sets, Knock Off -> Drain Punch will 2HKO, even with absolute minimum rolls)
  16. - Fake Out (I can't see anything better to do, so, this)
  17. Set annihilates Chansey and Latios both. Shed Skin prevents Chansey's toxic ramping up, and if she tries to stay in to Seismic Toss you , you have Drain Punch, which will heal a lot when hitting a Chansey. Knock Off breaks her Eviolite, which nullifies her physical defense and thus leads to a guaranteed OHKO with High Jump Kick, even from full health, on Chansey. Against this set, Latios is just sad, frankly. Scrafty's Knock Off is a guaranteed OHKO on Latios, and Latios' Draco Meteor can't 2HKO you. This set can switch into Latios comfortably, as Latios has no way of 2HKOing you without a crit, but you can OHKO it with ease.

  19.
  20. Mega Charizard Y
  21. - Blaze, Charizardite Y, Timid, 252 SpA, 4 SpD, 252 Spe
  22. - Fire Blast
  23. - Solar Beam
  24. - Roost
  25. - Focus Blast
  26. Set is just the standard. Takes on MMetagross and Shaymin, and probably the entire rest of his team, so long as you can keep Rocks off the field.

  28. Ramble Incoming, TL;DR below: I was thinking about why someone would ever, ever pick Shaymin, a pokemon with one viable attacking move, in a draft format, and I was brought back to my time playing NU. Originally in NU, Lilligant was garbage-tier. Nobody used her, and nobody saw any use for her. But as time went on, and people began to pick up Scyther, regular Charizard and Vivillon, everyone realised - oh, Lilligant gets Leaf Storm, Sleep Powder, and Healing Wish, as well as a hard-hitting Hidden Power Rock to target the common threats. She can then Healing Wish once she's passed her use-by date. Let's just Choice Scarf her and see where that goes. Surprise! It revolutionized the entire metagame. Shaymin can run that same set, which is scary to me, and if he brings Shaymin, I'd be fully prepared for that set, running HP Rock to target Charizard Y, or something similar (Perhaps with a Life Orb rather than a Choice Scarf? Though then it wouldn't be guaranteed to outspeed you, so that is unlikely.)
  29.
  30. ***TL;DR***: Shaymin can run a Choice Scarf set with Leaf Storm, Hidden Power Rock, Healing Wish and a coverage move. If he brings Shaymin, fully expect this set. He wants to snipe your Charizard-Y as much as we want to snipe his MMetagross. Funnily enough, even Modest Shaymin is so unimpactful that it can't net an OHKO with HP Rock on Charizard Y;
  31.
  32. 252+ SpA Shaymin Hidden Power Rock vs. 0 HP / Charizard-Mega-Y: 212-252 (71.3 - 84.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO.
  33.
  34. However, 70-85% is still a lot, and will be more than enough to snipe your Charizard-Y if it takes chip damage.

  36.
  37. Milotic
  38. - Does it even matter? It's your Milotic, it's going to work out anyway.
  39.
  40.
  41. Quagsire
  42. - Unaware, Leftovers, relaxed, 252 HP, 252 Def, 4 SpD
  43. - Scald (Preferred to Waterfall in this game because burn chance against MMetagross)
  44. - Earthquake
  45. - Toxic
  46. - Recover
  47. One thing that struck me while watching those replays was just how much this guy likes Swords Dance. On his team, he has multiple potential setter-uppers; Calm Mind Latios, Calm Mind Suicune, Swords Dance Absol, Swords Dance Samurott, Shell Smash Omastar. He'll probably have something spicy going on, judging by past performance, at any rate. Plus it's a Quagsire, so like, yeah. His team is very, very bad against Quagsire, unless it's Grass Knot Metagross (Which isn't as rare as it sounds), he brings a Rotom-Mow (Which is as rare as it sounds), or he brings Shaymin, which would be ill-advised against the guy who brought a Mega Charizard Y.

  50. Genesect
  51. - Naturally. It's your Uber.
  52. - I've never used Genesect, so I have no idea what it runs normally, let alone what adjustments to make for this game. Burn Drive seems good, because it combos with Charizard Y's drought, and it gives you another person to snipe Shaymin and MMetagross who isn't weak to Hidden Power Rock. I don't know if you can afford to run Burn Drive, because I don't know how fast or hard-hitting Genesect is by default, but it might be something to consider.
