- Hey guys,
- For those that are having problems patching, launching the game (via the launcher or the EVE eve itself, give this a try.
- 1) Completely kill eset, including the firewall.
- 2) Delete this folder: C:\Games\EVE Online\launcher\cache (your path may be different)
- 3) Delete everything inside this folder: C:\Users\<yourusername>\appdata\local\ccp\eve
- 4) Cut all the files inside your eve directory that end with .patch into a backup directory.
- 5) Dont run the repair tool, rather open the launcher now. (it should start patching)
- EDIT: It was working, but now it seems that EVE has crashed again so I am back to square one. What I have noticed is that the eve launcher is using 95%-100% of the disk utilization (which could be the reason why its failing to write blocks). To be honest, I think that this is the core reason why this patch is not working for us and it would be great if an EVE DEV could take a look at this possibility.
- PS: Running on an i7 laptop with 6GB RAM, 2GB dedicated Nvidea Graphics card. But my HDD scores only 5.5 in the Windows Performance Index. Could it be that the 5400 hard-drives are incapable of applying this patch because the launcher tries to write "too fast" for some unknown reason?
- Cheers
- Scott
