  1. Trust me, it takes more out of me (and Major & Lurker) than you realize not playing Halo with friends and making content. We all love doing it. But with the state of the game, and for me personally with the future direction of the franchise I just can't bring myself to do it anymore.
  2.
  3. You bring up a good point that Halo 4 survived for its entire life with a small, tight knit population, part of which youtube forged. I was extremely grateful to be apart of that community. But don't forget, I came into it almost as late as you did, and from a very different background in Halo. I am, before anything else, a competitive player, and the majority of Halo 4 was not enjoyable to me.
  4.
  5. I stuck with it for two reasons.
  6.
  7. The first reason were the friends and larger community. Youtube was a way to interact with people daily, teach newer players, and play with people who enjoyed competitive Halo or liked my content. With the MCC, that connection is (literally) impossible. MCC took away my friends.
  8.
  9. The second reason was my hope for Halo. I saw Halo 4 as an experiment from a new developer, who tried their best, but failed to create a new vision for Halo. It was an experience they could learn from, and improve upon. What I see in Halo 5 is an unacceptably small margin of improvement. They removed a few shallow, completely cheesy elements, but the underlying mechanical problems in Halo 5 still ruin it as a competitive game for me. Halo 5 took away my hope for Halo, or at least the version of it I want to play and make content for.

  11. I'm past harboring resentment for the franchise, although I am extremely bitter MCC still doesn't work. Like you said I'm having a ton of fun with CS:GO and I hope to reach a level of competency in that franchise to one day make the same impact with content that I was able to with Halo. I'm sorry you miss my Halo content, but I'll never be able to force myself to enjoy and promote something I see as fundamentally destroyed. We'll still get in a few social games of Halo 5 later this year, no doubt.
