  1. Dear Columbus (Ohio) City Schools, RE: Mailing out "Pls Gib Us Your Monies" postcards...
  2.
  3. If you are really in that dire of straits, then quit wasting your *$@#! money and stop sending these cards. You're only pi$$ing people like me off and you can't afford to do that. How many mills do you want? Where do you get off asking for that much all at once? Do you think everyone is made of money?

  5. Second, I'm really not sure where you think this money is coming from. Want to know what my raise was this year at my high-tech employer? -$32.00/mo. That's right, because I got a $0/mo raise and a $32/mo insurance increase (Thanks Obama!) I now have a $32 deficit in my budget each month. How about last year? After the insurance increase of $25/mo and a raise of $26/mo (after taxes) I took home a whopping extra $12 that year. THAT. YEAR. Before that? About the same, and three no-raise years before that. This year I cut phone service down a lot to make the deficit. Last year, I cut car insurance back farther than I should have. Before that? Well, it's why I don't have cable TV, home phone, or even a house that's warmer than 63F in the winter. You know what it's like to be cold? No, you wouldn't. Why do I stay there? Well, let's just say that I'm looking to move and Columbus doesn't exactly have a wealth of mid-level tech jobs - at least ones that pay more than $13 an hour if you're not a rockstar.

  7. The people I know? We're all in the same boat. Insurance has gone through the roof (Thanks Obama) and none of us are getting much in the way of raises. For a real eye-opener, I make less ACTUAL dollars than I did in 2001, and I make about the same inflation adjusted dollars as I did in 1995! I went from paying $0 a month if I didn't use my insurance to paying $260 a month now, and I still need to pay $3000 if I want any service benefit.

  9. So, TL;DR:
  10.
  11. Quit sending me your $hit. It's not going to help, I financially cannot vote yes, as there isn't any money for me, let alone you. You're just going to have to cut shit out of your budget. Sucks, doesn't it?
  12.
  13. Maybe you should cut some salaries and raise the price on benefits. Oh, can't do that, can we...
