  1. This is a list of settings which I feel most games should have. Mostly just using it to try and gather info to use for my own games.
  2.
  3. Main Menu/File Select:
  4.
  5. - File Select (3 separate save files)
  6. - Copy File
  7. - Delete File
  8. - Exit Game (Quit to desktop)
  9.
  10. --------------------------------------------------
  11.
  12. Gameplay:
  13.
  14. - Language
  15. - Control Tips On/Off (Disables control "tips" in the menus/HUD. Some players might consider it clutter and not want it, but it's a good thing to have for new players)
  16. - In-Game HUD On/Off (Depending on the game)
  17. - Pause on Window Unfocus
  18.
  19. --------------------------------------------------
  20.
  21. Video:
  22.
  23. - Windowed/Fullscreen/Borderless Window
  24. - Window Scale (For windowed mode. Allows the user to scale up the game by a certain amount to retain pixel perfect scaling)
  25. Brightness
  26. - VSync On/Off
  27. - FPS Counter
  28. - Monitor Selection (Maybe? A lot of indie games don't have this option, and I don't even think I can do it natively in GameMaker Studio 2)
  29.
  30. --------------------------------------------------
  31.
  32. Audio:
  33.
  34. - Master Volume
  35. - SFX Volume
  36. - Music Volume
  37.
  38. --------------------------------------------------
  39.
  40. Controls:
  41.
  42. - Fully Configurable Keybindings (Keyboard, Mouse, and Controller support)
  43. - Invert X/Y Axis
  44. - Vibration On/Off
  45. - Analog Deadzone
  46. - Mouse Lock (Don't let the mouse leave the window. Only really needed if the game uses the mouse outside of menus)
  47.
  48. --------------------------------------------------
  49.
  50. Other:
  51.
  52. - Reset To Default (For each individual setting category)
  53. - Credits (Maybe only after beating the game?)
  54. - In-Game Timer (For speedrunners)
