  1. [19:46]<SpiritOfFate> After some time of rest, you feel mostly recovered. It is still dark on the shack, but a pony figure walks past you, opening the door outside with a soft creak.
  2. [19:48]? Sotho looks ath the pony figure, moving to get up and follow them
  3. [19:55]<SpiritOfFate> The moonlight shows it is an old earth pony stallion, not very healthy looking. He trots outside towards the piles of junk, walking carefully to avoid the spotlights
  4. [19:57]? Sotho follows his movements, curious about this earthpony
  5. [20:05]<SpiritOfFate> Both of you cross the landfill. The old pony reaches the scrapyard gate, taking light steps under the shack window and approaching the rusty gate, pulling something from his tail.

  13. [20:17]<SpiritOfFate> Ignis can hear a soft shuffling of grass just by the furnace shute.
  14. [20:19]? Ignis raises from the bed, blinking a little...the dragon stirs lightly, it was...he thought he heard something by the chute. He digs for his pipe again and goes to check into the chute...
  15. [20:22]<SpiritOfFate> You look in time to see a pony setting a note tied to a weighted rock by the chute.
  16. [20:23]<Ignis> "Can't you just...topple it over here?"
  17. [20:25]<SpiritOfFate> "Ah!" a muffled yell comes from the colt in the shadows. The pony shuffles back a few steps.
  18. [20:27]? Ignis shakes his head. "I'm not going to hurt ya...I'm...chained." The dragon says, shaking said chains.
  19. [20:34]<SpiritOfFate> The colt approaches hesitantly, looking into the chute.
  20. [20:36]? Ignis nods, extending a claw. "Now, if you can push over that rock to me, pretty please..."
  21. [20:37]<SpiritOfFate> The colt blinks frightened at the claw, but gives the rock to you.
  22. [20:39]? Ignis takes the rock and reads the note. "Stay for a bit...lemme see if a response is needed..."
  23. [20:40]<SpiritOfFate> The note says simply. "3 suns."
  24. [20:41]? Ignis looks over at the colt. "Its for me, right?"
  25. [20:42]<SpiritOfFate> "Um, I don't know. I just deliver them..."
  26. [20:43]? Ignis nods. "Say...you got something to spare? Anything, much..."
  27. [20:44]? Sotho looks into Ignis's shake
  28. [20:44]<Sotho> shack*
  29. [20:45]<SpiritOfFate> A blue old pony observes from a shadowy corner as well.
  30. [20:49]<SpiritOfFate> "I have... some caps, but..." The colt says through the chute.
  31. [20:50]? Sotho tilts his head as he looks at the old pony
  32. [20:50]? Ignis shakes his head. "Keep 'em, kid...not much use for them to me like this." He nods. "If that's all...thanks. Consider yer' job done."
  33. [20:52]<SpiritOfFate> The little colt nods and zips away gladly. The old pony looks over at the room, his eyes stopping on Sotho. "Quite a reunion here. Looks like I wasn't as quiet as I hoped."
  34. [20:53]<Sotho> "Reunion?" Sotho asks
  35. [20:53]? Ignis turns around and...sees two guests. He immediately faceclaws. "I'm seeing thing again, ain't I?" The dragon says, eyes still under the claw.
  36. [20:57]<SpiritOfFate> The old pony gives Ignis a yellow grin. Even under the dim moonlight inside the shack he looks quite sickly. "Not right now, but looks like I was right to come here. So, fanged fellow, tell me which brand of crazy you saw?"
  37. [20:57]? Sotho smiles and waves. "Afraid not."
  38. [20:59]? Ignis eventually puts the claw away, sitting down and looking at the duo. "Madness beyond belief, old timer..." The dragon nods slowly. "Enough to...doubt my senses quite often."
  39. [21:04]<SpiritOfFate> He chuckles. "No need to doubt anything, it's probably right. So the good lady doc was saying, looks like you got the ticks."
  40. [21:06]<Ignis> "Yes, but..." The dragon looks off for a few moments, stroking his left arm, quite insecure. "But for how long..." He shakes his head a little.
  41. [21:10]<Sotho> "So I'm afraid I stumbled upon something I shouldn't have?
  42. [21:12]<SpiritOfFate> "That happens far too often here." the old pony says to Sotho, turning back to Ignis. "So, did you see It?"

  44. [21:18]<SpiritOfFate> "The dark thing."
  45. [21:20]<Ignis> "I'm guessing that was...some black-colored, not extensively defined, mainly generical and somewhat symbolical representative figment that my mind produced..." The dragon shakes his head. "No, nope...haven't seen that one."
  46. [21:22]? Sotho looks at the old pony. "Dark thing?"
  47. [21:27]<SpiritOfFate> He raises an eyebrow. "You didn't see it? Tendrils, shadowy stuff and all the evil schtick?"
  48. [21:27]<Sotho> "No no, I saw it, I saw it clearly
  49. [21:27]? Ignis shakes his head again. "Nope, didn't saw it...what about the evil dark-skinned octopus thing?"
  50. [21:29]? Ignis looks...surprisingly casual about this...in fact, he seems eager to hear more.
  51. [21:30]<SpiritOfFate> He looks back at Sotho, mildly confused. "You too? I thought it was just the dragon. No wonder, trapped as he is."
  52. [21:30]<Sotho> "What do you mean?"
  53. [21:33]<SpiritOfFate> "The thing just goes after hopeless folks... at least I reckon it does. Nopony lasts much to tell what went on."
  54. [21:34]? Ignis blinksblinks. "That...explains a lot."
  55. [21:36]<Sotho> "It... was in my dream."
  56. [21:38]<SpiritOfFate> The old pony looks at Sotho, interested. "So, wanna share?"
  57. [21:38]<Sotho> "Well, it disguised itself as my wife and child and then after I figured out it was not them, it decided to berate my hope and stick it's tendrils into my chest."
  58. [21:46]<SpiritOfFate> He looks more closely at Sotho. "And what did you do?"
  59. [21:46]<Sotho> "I woke up after saying that I will never lose hope."
  60. [21:49]<SpiritOfFate> The old pony grumbles. "Is that so?"
  61. [21:56]<SpiritOfFate> He shakes his head. "I don't know you, but I'd rather have my head blown than just stay here and wait for that thing to come back."
  62. [21:59]? Ignis says to himself on a low tone. "Easy for you to say that when you're a figment of imagination that isn't really bound by the solid world or whenever constraints..."
  63. [22:00]<SpiritOfFate> The old pony raises an eyebrow. "Did you say something, son?"
  64. [22:01]<Ignis> "You should know, don't you? Being a part of my mind...I'd expect that..."
  65. [22:06]<SpiritOfFate> He blinks. "Part of, what? ... son, you are off your rocker."
  66. [22:07]? Ignis nods. "I kinda expected that answer...denial would be the first stage."
  67. [22:10]<SpiritOfFate> The earth pony sighs, trotting closer to knock on Ignis' head. "Someone still there?"
  68. [22:11]? Ignis shakes his head off the pony's reach. "Knock it off, will you? It's bad as it is without tampering..." The dragon sighs. "Look, even if you don't think that's the truth...answer me...does it really, really, really matter?"
  69. [22:12]? Sotho is confused with what Ignis is saying. "I'm pretty sure I'm real
  70. [22:12]? Ignis blinks. "Then how did you knew about the doc...oh..."
  71. [22:13]<Sotho> "Doc?"
  72. [22:13]? Ignis shakes his head. "But I...didnt heard you guys coming in, how did..." He tilts his scaly head
  73. [22:14]<Sotho> "I'm a Zebra, sneaking is in our blood."
  74. [22:14]<SpiritOfFate> "Living here gives you a light hoof, son. Or at least to the smart ones."
  75. [22:15]? Ignis faceclaws again. "Boredom did this to me..." He sighs. "Anyways, why you came here?"
  76. [22:17]<Sotho> "I followed him." Hep oints to the old stallion
  77. [22:43]<SpiritOfFate> "I came to talk to you of the things most folks don't notice. That black thing, the little mote of light, the flowing pool of blood... I've heard there's a flame that pops out of nowhere too." He nods to Sotho. "It's good that you followed... because I'm not sure the lizard here has the head on the right place."
  78. [22:43]? Sotho chuckles lightly
  79. [22:44]? Ignis crosses his arms and rolls his eyes. "I didn't saw anything..."
  80. [22:46]<SpiritOfFate> He shrugs. "Some see more, some see less, but everyone can feel them. Did you ever have an odd feeling out of nowhere you can't explain?"
  81. [22:48]? Ignis nods. "Yes, but...sometimes the body does that on its own, I mean...with all of the pre-war mass-fabricated, expired food around the wastes, that's probably a given...tummy aches or psychodelics..."
  82. [22:48]<Sotho> "I've had that feeling, but my tribe always said those were the spirits."
  83. [22:55]<SpiritOfFate> The old pony moves over to Ignis' chain. "I tell you what. Just talking won't do anything." He pulls a set of strangely shaped metal tools tohis muzzle.
  84. [22:56]? Ignis opens a grin. "Now we're talking...set me free and I'm totally helping ya guys out."
  85. [22:56]<Sotho> "W-wait, you're going to free him here? Is he gonna be able to get out stealthly?
  86. [23:00]<SpiritOfFate> The old buck shrugs. "He better. You two better follow all my steps. But if it goes badly..." He shrugs again. "Not like something like this never happened here. Life goes on."

  89. [23:01]? Sotho nods lightly. "A-alright... but what about the others? And why are you freeing us?"
  90. [23:04]<SpiritOfFate> "'Us?' I'm just opening his chain. You and me have a bigger problem."
  91. [23:07]<SpiritOfFate> The old buck taps the collar on his own neck.
  92. [23:07]<Sotho> "What that dark thing?"
  93. [23:12]<SpiritOfFate> "I don't know for sure, but looks like it feeds on the will of ponies."
  94. [23:16]<Sotho> "Then how come it let me go?"
  95. [23:19]<Ignis> [22:58] (Ignis) "Perhaps you aren't ripe yet..."
  96. [23:20]<SpiritOfFate> Ignis' chain clicks open. "'cuz you are not weak enough yet, I figure. But it's going to haunt you if it's anything like me. "
  97. [23:21]? Ignis massages his neck...oh, it was good to be free again.
  98. [23:22]? Sotho shakes his head. "We should finding a way to stop it then."
  99. [23:23]? Ignis starts to dig off his stash, no way he was leaving his stuff behind...
  100. [23:28]<SpiritOfFate> The old buck frowns. "I doubt we gonna find anything trapped here."
  101. [23:28]? Ignis hauls his stuff and nods. "So, where to?'
  102. [23:30]? Sotho sighs. "I'm not leaving without my friends."
  103. [23:32]<SpiritOfFate> "I have quite a few things to show, but the outside isn't one... yet." He turns to the doorway. "Speaking of them." Sotho can see a luminous filly smiling at them, Ignis can only feel some lightness, though.
  104. [23:33]? Sotho looks to the filly. "Why, hello there." He smiles
  105. [23:34]<Ignis> "We'd best get a mov..." He cuts off, seeing Sotho speaking to nopony, the dragon just sighs, hoping that the zebra would be quick with his imaginary friend or whenever.
  106. [23:37]<SpiritOfFate> Ignis' eyes seems to blur slightly. He sees a mote of light by the doorframe, only a strange incomprehensible echo reaching his ears as the luminous filly waves to Sotho. "Hi!"
  107. [23:38]<Sotho> "So who are you little filly?" He chuckles
  108. [23:38]<Ignis> "Its...a shinything that mummurs..." The dragon shakes his head.
  109. [23:40]<SpiritOfFate> The old buck smiles to Sotho. "So you see them proper? That's a new one."
  110. [23:41]<SpiritOfFate> "I am Liberty Dream" the filly says. "You are Sotho, right?"
  111. [23:42]? Sotho nods. "Indeed I am, who do you know my name?"
  112. [23:43]<SpiritOfFate> "I watch your dreams. They are nice, like Firefly's. Not many ponies have nice dreams here..." She says.
  113. [23:43]<SpiritOfFate> "You can hear it?" The old buck asks.
  114. [23:45]? Sotho nods. "You cannot?" He asks. He looks back towards Liberty Dream. "Thank you, I assume you're a spirit then?"
  115. [23:46]<SpiritOfFate> The little spirit nodnods.
  116. [23:48]<SpiritOfFate> The old buck shakes his head. "I know it's trying to say something, but I can't really hear them. Not awake at least."
  117. [23:49]<Sotho> "Alright, so why are you here Miss Dream?"
  118. [23:52]<SpiritOfFate> "I wanted to walk with the nice mr. dragon. I know he really, really wanted to walk around and now he can, isn't that great?" She bounces, ecstatic.
  119. [23:53]? Sotho nods. "Yeah, but the bad people outside might catch him."
  120. [23:54]? Ignis trots back to his bed and sits down, it was quite frustrating to not be able to see that, or undertand...it annoyed him because he couldn't figure it out.
  121. [23:55]<Sotho> "She wants to take a walk with you Ignis." He says back to the dragon.
  122. [23:55]? Ignis raises an eyebrow. "She?"
  123. [23:56]<SpiritOfFate> The luminous filly frowns. "Aww, but a little will be okay, right?"
  124. [23:57]<SpiritOfFate> The old pony chuckles. "No mysterious motives or anything?"
  125. [23:57]<Ignis> "I can't really figure out what it is..." The dragon shakes its head. "But if it wants to come along, well..." He shrugs. "Sure..."
  126. [23:58]<Sotho> "I guess it will, as long as Ignis is quiet." He smiles to the filly and nods. "Alright. But I have a question Miss Dream. Have you seen that scary inky thing around? It came to me in a dream and did something to me."
  127. [00:03]<SpiritOfFate> The filly shudders. "I seen him. He is coming here a lot lately. It's bad..." She looks closer at Sotho, looking worried. "He got that tangly thing in you, didn't he?"
  128. [00:04]? Sotho nods. "Yeah, he did."
  129. [00:06]<SpiritOfFate> Ignis sees the vague outline of the filly for a moment, he hears a faint voice, as if it was very, very far.
  130. [00:07]<SpiritOfFate> "He does that to ponies sometimes, because he is mean."
  131. [00:07]<Ignis> "I...heard...." The dragon says, flopping his ears a bit.
  132. [00:07]<Sotho> "But what does it do?"
  133. [00:09]<SpiritOfFate> "It makes them sad. So sad they won't do anything anymore."
  134. [00:10]<Sotho> "Then how come it didn't work on me?" He tilts his head
  135. [00:14]<SpiritOfFate> "It did... but it's slow." She bites on your shoulder, trying to pull your stripe. Her touch just feels ticklish, but you feel as if something deep inside of you was tugged.
  136. [00:15]? Sotho shudders and smiles a bit. "What are you trying to do?"
  137. [00:15]<SpiritOfFate> Ignis feels a lighter tug inside of him as well, seeing a glimpse of the filly.
  138. [00:16]? Ignis blinks. "How it is doing that?"
  139. [00:16]<SpiritOfFate> "Take it off." She says with a muffled voice. "It's not fair, you are nice ponies too."
  140. [00:17]? Sotho nods. "Try your best please."
  141. [00:19]<SpiritOfFate> She pulls back with all her strength, and Sotho feels something moving back to place very slightly inside him.
  142. [00:20]<SpiritOfFate> The filly loses her grip and tumbles back.
  143. [00:20]? Sotho smiles and goes over to her, offering a hoof. "Thank your."

  145. [00:21]<SpiritOfFate> Ignis' eyes seem to feel strange.

  147. [00:23]<SpiritOfFate> A faint light silhouette of the filly appears, the voice seem to move closer and clearer. She gets Sotho's hoof. "Thanks, but I can't take all of it out. It's too strong... " She frowns.

  149. [00:26]<Sotho> He nods. "Thats fine, you should be rewarded for how hard you tried." He says, looking through the few goods he had

  151. [00:28]? Ignis looks back at the silhouette, headtilting. "Sorrysorrysorry...." He says in a low tone.

  153. [00:30]<SpiritOfFate> The old buck blinks. "Alright, I don't get what is going on here anymore."
  154. [00:30]<Ignis> "Yes, but this "that's what she said" line is way too old school..." The dragon says. "Shoulda get better material eventually..."
  155. [00:31]? Sotho takes out an Aloe leaf. "Would you like this Miss Liberty? You can heal ponies with them."
  156. [00:32]<Ignis> "You are...buying her services?" The dragon looks at Sotho confusedly. "I'm not sure how that works..."
  157. [00:33]<Sotho> "No, I'm offering a gift for her helping us."
  158. [00:34]<SpiritOfFate> She smiles to Sotho. "That is nice. Can you throw it that way?" She points a hoof to the dark scrapyard.
  159. [00:34]<Ignis> "Well, I..." He shuffles over his stuff. "I got a gem, if that's her fancy..." The dragon said as he examinated his stuff
  160. [00:35]? Sotho nods. "Alright." He moves towards the scrapyard, throwing one of his Aloe Leaves that way."
  161. [00:39]<SpiritOfFate> "Oh! Um, that... looks very nice. If only I was bigger..." She trails off.
  162. [00:41]? Ignis does bursts in laughter...
  163. [00:41]? Sotho tilts his head. "Why would you need to be bigger? You're adorable." He smiles
  164. [00:42]<Ignis> "So...sorry." He says, piping down. "Ah...we should get going, ponies..."
  165. [00:43]<SpiritOfFate> She glares at Ignis. "I'm not going to visit your dreams." She looks back at Sotho, smiling. "Thanks, but... I can't do much stuff, because I'm small." She frowns. "And the bad ones are bigger than me."
  166. [00:44]? Sotho goes and pets Liberty Dream. "You'll be big one day, just keep hoping, and don't let anypony else tell you that you aren't as strong as them." He smiles.
  167. [00:45]<Ignis> "Its alright..." The dragon says, sighing slightly. "I'm not really like that, its just...boredom, nervousness, and a lot of things." He says.
  168. [00:46]? Ignis examines the filly thoughtfully. "When I was about your size, I shrugged off death twice..."
  169. [00:48]<SpiritOfFate> She giggles. "I'm always hopeful. That is my thing."
  170. [00:50]<Sotho> "Well good, Hope is a great thing to have."
  171. [00:52]<Ignis> "bad ones...you mean, there are more than one?"
  172. [00:54]<Sotho> "There are many bad spirits, you need to know how to talk to them, perhaps get a shaman of some sort
  173. [00:54]<SpiritOfFate> She nods. "There is Scars, but he is not so big as the other one."
  174. [00:55]<Ignis> "Why I...never saw any before?"
  175. [00:57]<SpiritOfFate> She shrugs. "Scars visits you sometimes when you get angry. He thinks it's funny..."
  176. [00:58]<Sotho> "Spirit of Anger then..."
  177. [00:58]<Ignis> "I mean, any of you...why I never saw any?"
  178. [00:58]? Sotho wishes he could make a list.
  179. [01:00]<SpiritOfFate> She shakes her head to Sotho. "No, that's Revolt."
  180. [01:00]<Sotho> "Oh, then what is Scar?"
  181. [01:01]? Sotho reeeeaaallly wishes he had something to make a list
  182. [01:01]<Ignis> "Cruelty, I assume..."
  183. [01:01]<SpiritOfFate> She shrugs to Ignis. "Most living don't. I don't know why you do now..." She nods to Ignis.
  184. [01:02]? Ignis strokes his chin thoughtfully. "You said something about dreams...I...I had an odd dream a few days ago..."
  185. [01:03]<SpiritOfFate> She tilts her head.
  186. [01:05]<Ignis> "It was...like pictures moving quickly, really quickly...me, growing up at an escalated pace...while a pile of treasures around me grows as well..." The dragon shakes his head. "But there were ponies around...and other beings, they aged...grew old, and shriveled...but, but...I stayed..." he says, trying to remember more. "I...I outlived them, everypony there..." He says, holding his head, thinking...
  187. [01:06]? Sotho listens to Ignis's story.
  188. [01:08]<SpiritOfFate> She looks in sympathy to Ignis. "I know how that is like... but, even then, it just means you need to meet more nice ponies, right?"
  189. [01:11]? Ignis nods in silence. "Yes, it means that, but..." He bites his lips. "I can't help but feel apart." The dragon shifts a little on his seat. "That's...ought to go on and on..."
  190. [01:12]? Sotho shakes his head. "No, you mustn't look at it that way. Think of it this way, you can be besides those ponies, for all their lives, experience the good and the bad for them, make them as happy as they can be, and take pride in that."
  191. [01:14]<Ignis> "Yes, yes..." The dragon says, waving a claw in dismissal. "Do the best out of it and such..." He nods. "Yes, that should be worth it..."
  192. [01:16]<Ignis> "It was just some dream I found peculiar." He lifts from the bed. "Miss Liberty, I...owe you a walk, I presume..." He holds out his arm for the spirit, not really sure how that would work out.
  193. [01:17]<SpiritOfFate> The filly nodnods, moving to his side with a smile, looking happily at the door.
  194. [01:18]? Ignis opens the door and trots outside, unchained for once...the dragon keeps pace with the smaller filly...
  195. [01:18]<SpiritOfFate> The old pony scratches his head, very confused. "You need to explain me what's going on some other time."
