I have had problems with the city's email system since yesterday and have responded twice to the mantello email of yesterday. However, they are lost and Warren is unable to determine what happened. Here it is again from my personal account:



Yes I supported the hiring of an independent auditor/firm through the RFP process with the understanding/expectation that you would follow all applicable municipal procurement guidelines/rules/regulations for the expenditure of public funds. I did note disappointment that you received only 2 responses and that 1 far exceeded your budget. It would have been beneficial to have several for comparison purposes.


I applaud your commitment to achieving fiscal stability for the city's finances. I asked several weeks ago that the council consider raising the sewer rates in accordance with OSC's recommendations since at least 2011. Do you expect that the auditor will recommend such an increase in light of the OSC findings? The last time the council considered raising the rates was for the 2015 year I believe. The increase was defeated (I voted yes). The longer we delay the necessary increase, the higher it must be. Discussing it now would show leadership and resolve and initiative in addressing OSC recommendations. I did not receive a response from council leadership to my request but did receive a private email from a majority member that such an increase would not be acceptable to that member.
