- The following are snippets from a conversation with TOG, Clair, and myself; formatting modified to make it more readable (typos and stuff fixed, too):
- 22:28 <Pleeb> Oh, it's nothing big like an experiment or anything. I was just curious about something with Clair. Now, I know I haven't really talked with you guys too much until that chess match against you (though there was a few times once in awhile in the IRC),
- 22:28 <ThatOneGuy> Yes
- 22:28 <Pleeb> But I've noticed that Clair can get pretty fumed when she hears about a Tulpa getting hurt.
- 22:29 <ThatOneGuy> Yeah
- 22:29 <ThatOneGuy> I think she kind of has a motherly instinct towards them
- 22:29 <ThatOneGuy> Meaning the tulpae around the forum
- 22:29 <ThatOneGuy> And the like
- 22:29 <Pleeb> Yeah, I was going to ask if she's always been like that.
- 22:30 <Pleeb> Since I actually haven't hung around the IRC too much until #tulpa.info
- 22:30 <ThatOneGuy> I don't really know
- 22:31 <ThatOneGuy> I mean, a bit after she began interacting more with others she got like this sort of protective instinct for other tulpae
- 22:31 <Pleeb> I've actually sort of noticed a bit of stuff there after everything with Luna.
- 22:32 <ThatOneGuy> Could be, I don't really know.
- 22:32 <ThatOneGuy> It could very well be from what happened with all of that.
- 22:32 <Pleeb> I just remember something she said awhile ago (it was after everything with Luna), she said a genocide wouldn't bother her, except for the pointless loss of life.
- 22:33 <Pleeb> I think she was asked a similar question in the IRC before that event with Luna, and her answer lacked that second half.
- 22:34 <Clair> About that
- 22:34 <Clair> I think that these protective instincts did indeed arise from the Luna situation.
- 22:35 <Clair> I feel this urge to beat the living hell out of someone when they don't care for their tulpa or hurt them.
- 22:35 <Pleeb> Clair: I would agree, because I don't really remember you having them until after that situation.
- 22:35 <Clair> I think that I felt much more disconnected from everyone around the forum until then.
- 22:37 <Pleeb> Clair: Also, with that being said then, I'm curious ask you a question that you were asked awhile ago in IRC (where you answered "I probably would" to, iirc): Would you kill somebody just to kill them, if there were no repercussions?
- 22:38 <Clair> I think that just to feel the experience once, I would.
- 22:38 <Clair> But other than that I wouldn't kill for no reason.
- 22:38 <Pleeb> Clair: I see.
- 22:39 <Clair> One life extinguished is hardly a major loss with the world's current population, you know. But I'd rather not cause anguish within someone through a killing. The no repercussions part includes that that someone wouldn't be missed.
- 22:40 <Pleeb> I can see your rationale.
- 22:41 <Pleeb> If I could ask then, that whole, "I'd rather not cause anguish within someone" feeling -- did you consider things like this before the episode with Luna?
- 22:42 <Clair> Before Luna, I would not have cared.
- 22:42 <Pleeb> Very nice.
- 22:43 <Pleeb> This means that the whole Luna episode has pretty much changed some things in your personality, like, your way of thinking, rationale, etc.
- 22:43 <Pleeb> Makes you human.
- 22:44 <Clair> I suppose it is a sign of development, isn't it?
- 22:44 <Clair> Heh, more human than I'd like to admit, yes.
- 22:45 <Pleeb> Clair: It indeed is a sign of development, and that's the beauty of it.
- 22:45 <Pleeb> And I'm happy to hear that my suspicions were true, either way.
- 22:46 <Pleeb> But I really have to get some sleep, so thanks for answering my questions. Hell, maybe we all learned something tonight, aye?
- 22:46 <Clair> I suppose so. Good night Pleeb.
- 22:46 <ThatOneGuy> Good night bro
- 22:47 <Pleeb> g'night Clair, TOG.
