  1. Daikitsune (old world species)
  2.
  3. Old World Kitsune are regarded as some of the strongest humanoid monsters in the world, and are only beaten out by vampires, and moreso by old world succubi.
  4.
  5. Kitsune and their subspecies are easily identifiable by the trademark large, perky fox ears that top their head, and the 1 to 9 fluffy tails that trail behind them, they come in builds of all shapes and sizes, and are considered to be one of the most human-like monsters.
  6.
  7. Kitsune, regarding the specific "Daikitsune" species, are extremely rare, with several thousands of years of them breeding with humans, and other, similar monsters, pure old world bloodlines are all but nonexistent, and only a handful of pure blooded daikitsune are thought to be left in existence.
  8.
  9. In terms of behavior, stories and records, as well as a personal accounts, they are said to be about as varied as humans are, some are happy, some are gloomy, some are angry, and so on. The behaviors that set them apart from humans include their tendency for trickery and mischief, and their libido. They are very lustful creatures that require frequent sexual maintenance to stay focused. Their burning libido would make one probably think that they cannot stay focused for long, however, most of them found ways, though magic or alchemy, to manage their lust when they weren't outing it on some unfortunate (or fortunate, however you look at it) human or other monster.
  10.
  11. The tails of a daikitsune are determined by their age and power, 2 tails, for instance, has to be a minimum of at least 50 years old and will still resemble a child, one with three has to be at least 100 and will resemble a teenager, and tails after 3 are considered "adult", a daikitsune with nine tails is not only at least 450 years old, but also a master of the arcane, and would appear to most as roughly 30 years old (in most cases). Over time, however, several wars, along with crossbreeding, have thinned their ranks to the point where, as mentioned earlier, pure blooded daikitsune are nearly extinct.
  12.
  13. Kitsune (Old-Blood)
  14.
  15. Old blood kitsune are the children of the sects of daikitsune that have decided to move on and breed with other species, old blood kitsune are very similar to their old world counterparts, but will slowly lose their traits over time, they are the bulk of what most would consider daikitsune as we know them now.
  16.
  17.
  18. Kitsune (modern)
  19.
  20. Modern kitsune are mostly a mix of subspecies, but the most common species that was created out of breeding almost exclusively with humans is also the one most associated with the term. Modern kitsune are, in appearance, less beast-like than their old world ancestors, their large canines are all but gone, their sharpened nails are much more rounded and soft, and their fur has gone from very coarse and animal-like to something that most would find more than agreeable to make a blanket or coat out of, and even their faces, once much more predatory and menacing in appearance, have softened. This has, also, weakened them significantly, they hold only a fraction of the power, physical and magical, that their ancestors did, they are however, still at least a bit stronger physically, and several times stronger magically compared to humans. Their libido has also been calmed, although still more fierce than a normal human's, their libido is not nearly as obtrusive as it once was. Their longevity has also been decreased, although they still live much longer than a human, up to 200 years in many cases, and still mature slower than humans, having the body of a child at age 20. Most kitsune subspecies have lost their "age gate" for tail growth, now determined by physical maturity (up to past puberty) and magical ability.
  21.
  22. Also of note, all kitsune, like most species with tails, have a particularly large and lengthy bundle of nerves right below the base of their tail(s), this can be stimulated through a rub around the base of the tail(s), or can be stimulated more directly through the rectum, akin to the "G-spot" located in female reproductive organs. Some individuals enjoy the sensation so much that they come to call their anus the "pleasure hole" and their vagina the "breeding hole".
