Backstory?

Ban is a young child, who was adopted by Tone Seroto, a general for the Esperian Defense Force, stationed in Libra Town, at the early age of eleven months. He was a boy adopted to replace another child his mother, Mary, had given birth to, but lost due to a sudden death. One thing they noticed is that Ban always slept peacefully in his sleep, even in times when he normally shouldn't be, like when Tone took him to his base, a very unfamiliar place where the barracks are loud 24/7, or when his adoptive mother gave birth five years after he was adopted.

Unlike most Psychics, who develop their powers in their pre-teen years, Ban developed his powers around the third grade. Unfortunately for him, when tested in the same tests they tested new Psychics in, they found that Psychics who develop their powers too early tended to not be able to control their offensive powers. And such was the case with Ban: even though he had many types to choose from, he never was able to control which type he was going to use.

With his mom always taking care of the new kid, and his dad away for a couple of months at a time, Ban had nothing else to do really except go to school and sleep. No, really. It seemed like the early awakening of his powers had put a huge strain on his body, making him extremely sleepy during the late afternoons, which he wouldn't wake up from until morning.  Which was good, because one year and two months after his powers awakened...

His mom was caught cheating, having relations with another general of a different platoon during the times when she left to "get groceries" while Ban was asleep. She was caught on the base by one of Tone's subordinates, and word quickly spread. Quickly, to save both of their reputations, Tone drew out a plan. Mary was to take care of the kid she gave birth to, taking the house, while Tone and Ban relocated to the other side of the region, in Taurus VIllage. The whole arrangement was kept under wraps from the children and done in three days, when Tone suddenly announced he was being transferred, and brought Ban along with him.

And that's how Ban got to Taurus Village! As for the Festival, well... after a while, Tone decided to do something for Ban. Feeling guilty for not being for his son sooner, he started taking his son around on his days off. When the Festival happened, he decided to take his son there. He quickly wandered off, however...
