I've come to play your game again
Because a comment loudly boasting
Showed off a build while I was posting
And a build of such quality as this
Made me miss
Hearing the sound of Minecraft

In 2010 I mined alone
Collecting ore and cobblestone
And in the halo of a torch light
I battled mobs through the caves and night
When my ears were struck with the hiss of a lighted fuse
And then I knew
This was the sound of Minecraft

But on the forum site I saw
10 million people, maybe more
People posting without reading,
Crappy rules that weren't worth heeding
People posting maps unworthy to be shared
And no one dared
Question the growth of Minecraft

Noobs, said I, you do not know
This fanbase like a cancer grows
Read my posts that I might sway you
Join MP that I might play you
But my posts like suspended gravel fell
And couldn't stem the swell of Minecraft

And the kiddies bought and played
All the console ports they made
And the blog put out its warning
On a hot September morning
It said "The vision of our studio has just been bought out by Microsoft
And Notch ran off
With $3 billion handed down for Minecraft
