- <pikacreeper> 1 you dont get lost
- I've been lost many times, granted it is far easier to do so in Minecraft.
- <pikacreeper> 2 you dont lose your items
- Item loss in Terraria is still implemented through Midcore characters
- <pikacreeper> 3 its easier to mine
- While the 2D plane makes it much easier to mine, the amount of material you need is also greatly increased. Limited world size does not help either.
- <pikacreeper> 4 mobs are less horrid
- The main beef I have with the enemies is that none of them present anything new to the table. A majority of the enemies suffer from the dreaded "Touch of Death" attack method, and it comes off as downright lazy at times. Minecraft has a much smaller selection of mobs, but they are all easily differentiated in both appearance and attack methods.
- <pikacreeper> 5 bosses
- The first four bosses are good, but the Hardmode bosses sans the Twins take a noticeable nosedive in quality.
- <pikacreeper> 6 it dosent crash with mods
- Haven't tested therefore cannot comment on, though I really don't consider it impossible to crash the game with a mod.
- <pikacreeper> 7 alot more detail to it
- As Minecraft's graphics give off the "Obvious Beta" impression even today, I have to agree. Not that Terraria's artwork doesn't lack in some areas, though.
- <pikacreeper> 8 its 2d minecraft is 3d
- Does not mean it is better
- <pikacreeper> 9 minecraft has crap uses for stuff
- Terraria has its fair share of useless material (Hi Silver)
- <pikacreeper> 10 its easier to build THERE
- Building in Terraria is easier at the cost of a third dimension and many of the assets Minecraft's creative mode gives you, such as flight or the ability to select blocks with an infinite amount.
- Other small gripes:
- The music
- - The music in Minecraft is both rare to come by and does little other than provide some occasional ambience. C418 has issues with stepping out of his comfort zone and it really shows in Minecraft's soundtrack. Terraria's soundtrack, on the other hand, likes to build up but goes nowhere; a notable example of this is shown in the second Boss battle track. It builds up in the beginning, creating a frantic feeling, but soon completely drops off and does nothing with it.
