- He was chatting on his phone.
- "Gary! Did you know that a fair's coming to town--?"
- The boy on the other end chuckled, "Yes."
- "We should go together!"
- "Alright, Phillip. Which day?"
- "I heard they're having a lovely tea set on auction the second day, and I want to see what it looks like, if you don't mind!"
- "Sure."
- They both laughed lightly, joking and talking about other things.
- "Hey, Gary?" Pip's tone got slightly serious for a moment.
- "What is it?"
- "I love you."
- "Huh? I mean, I love you too, buddy."
- "No, like..." He sighed, "I love you, and I wish I could've--"

- "...Phillip?"
- There was no response.
- "Phillip! Are you there?"
