12. Sexual Orientation: Pansexual. However many may believe that he is bisexual or even homosexual, given the fact that shortly before his further mutation and departure from the Xavier School, he openly said he was homosexual in hopes of promoting more tolerant attitudes all around the school.

20.
21. Powers/Mutation: Hank's powers were initially a mild form of atavism, wherein his hands and feet were larger than a normal human's for his age, and in the case of the latter, were not only wider but also longer- with long toes which could be functionally as another set of hands with only mild discomfort (at least with few clothes upon him). These mutations were easily passable as norman human, given the minor atravision of feet which are like that occurs in non x-gene having humanity. Additionally, his limbs were longer on average than the average humans for his age, young mister McCoy was the quintessential lanky youth.
22.
23. This atravism while mild, made Hank possess from an early age almost preternatural reflexes and balance, with this natural combination making him quite capable of speedy action and combining with his natural intelligence making the youth have a formidable mind.
24.
25. Since the 'incident' and his further mutation, Henry has gained further and far more visible atavistic traits. The most notable and perhaps most debate-able by biologists as either atravist or simply neotenous- being dark blue (almost black) hair, and downy fur of a slightly lighter blue color. Where previously Hank could pass for a human, his mutation has progressed far further than that and his current physical form, bestial as it may be, has physical capabilities far more capable than that of his original form.
26.
27. Superhuman Physicality Hank's tissues are more dense than the average human of his height, age, and apparent build. Even before his further mutation he had some level of superhuman physicality, but since his bestial form and his further mutation, this physicality has become more noted. His muscles are a good deal more dense than a comparable human's.
28. His strength is enough that he could at maximum effort lift eight tons, perhaps ten tons with severe muscle strain the chance of damaging himself.
29.
30. His sizable feet, combined with this denseness of muscle, allow him also to move at nearly forty miles per hour over short distance at maximum exertion, though he can only manage that in most cases by running on all fours.
31.
32. The final result of his dense muscles is a heightened durability and toughness- though he may still be wounded by conventional firearms, bladed weapons, electricity, and the like- his muscles and bones are such that he can withstand great impacts and impacting forces, such as minor super-human strength, injuries which might bruise others, and falls from several story buildings.
33.
34. Superhuman Dexterity and Agility- Something which is as intrinsic to Hank as his own love of twinkies, his feets can function roughly equivalently to that of a human, and he can write, type, or even tie knots with his feet, as well as pick things up or throw things. His dexterity is further that he can write with both hands and is functionally ambidextrous though he claims a slight favoritism towards his left hand.
35.
36. So too, his agility is above that of even the greatest human atheletes, Hank has long lived with with an instinctive sense of balance which is enough that he can change-directions in mid-air, and could easily compete at the olympic level in acrobatics and gymnastics, if not for his glaring mutant status.
37.
38. Additional Neotenous traits- Hank's senses were preternaturally enhanced following his further mutation, and he has the ability to track another human simply by smell, see and hear objects from far distances away, and see with a form of night-vision, akin to that of a cat. [s]Additionally, he had a killer sense of style.[/s]
39.
40. His body naturally generate minute amounts of pheromones which could potentially attract females or other males, if Beast concentrated to promote the pheromone generation. This ties in to his natural regenerative factor, which allows him to potentially get over a sickness in hours, broken bones or similar severity injuries within days, though he still needs medical attention for serious injuries, given that his body could not heal nearly fast enough to stop any life threatening injuries.
41.
42. Finally, Hank's fingernails and toenails are many times thicker than the average humans and retractable. They are naturally razor sharp and could easily be used for wounding scratches, or to tear through many materials- at least combined with his sizable physical strength. He has enlarged and slightly elongated canines which can be used to bite in times of desperation, too.
43.
44. Weaknesses- The most glaring weakness which Henry possesses is the fact that he cannot go out in public with any ease of finding his mutation. The other mutations which Hank possesses are less glaring and perhaps more severe in situations of life and death. His enhanced senses come at a serious price, in that any bright lights, sounds, or smells could potentially knock him senseless in the case of the former two, and distract him immensely in the case of the latter.
45.
46. His sense of smell and atavistic traits are further affected by a worsened sensitivity to pheromones, both human and otherwise- and what Hank has unquestionably dubbed a 'short blue wick of a temper', given that the normally fairly even mannered man can be driven to great physical violence quickly if provoked by the right sensory triggers or he feels threatened or overly challenged. The sentient, conscious side of Eddie hates this immensely, but there is little he could do given his lack of knowledge in any sense of cure for mutants and the fact that he feels it would be greedy to waste such knowledge upon himself.
47.
48. Additionally, Hank's immense density and physicality do not come without their flaws, and Hank, like another mutant (of mine) has an immense appetite and must devour approximately four thousand calories a day without feeling some what sluggish. [s]So yes, he would like bacon on his hamburger, Logan. Thank you for asking, friend.[/s]
49.
50. Skills: The chief ability which Hank possesses, beyond that of the abilities which are the result of his mutation- is a natural curiosity and a genius intellect, particularly with the fields of pattern recognition. This made him an early adept at biology, electronics, biochemistry, and even a budding linguist.
51.
52. He also plays the keyboard fairly adeptly. While a budding linguist, he is a polyglot with knowledge in many languages; his native English, Latin, German, French, Arabic, Russian, Japanese, and Spanish.
53.
54. This skill at pattern recognition makes Beast a capable tactician, and equally capable gymnast and general combatant. Finally, much to the no-doubt chagrin of his fellow Xavier's Institute inhabitants, he has recently taken up the Bagpipes, though he is by no means skilled with them.
55.
56. Personality: Hank is harder to read than your average book, and it isn't just because his cover is blue and furry. A budding genius from an early age, his first idol was his father and from that same man- he took the majority of his ideals. The first of which was to stand up for what you believe in no matter who, or what was standing in your way. He taught Henry to have no fear, and so the young McCoy never felt it.
57.
58. Even with the fact that he found himself in classes with people much older than him given his immense intellect, and at age of ten was in High School he found himself not with problem standing up for himself and even took threats with jest. As he grew, this confidence lended well to being a listener- and taught Hank to be an empathic man even if he was also empathic because his intelligence and athleticism didn't change the fact that he felt deep down somewhat a freak, so he felt that he should be modest.
59.
60. He is still modest, empathic, compassionate and friendly, though he is also a bit aggressive since the bestial transformation and his personality is definitely that of someone who would or could be a leader. Beyond that, he is very much a Renaissance man, willing to try just about anything once, doing some things simply for the sake of style, and often never without a quote or lyric with which to brighten the mood.
61.
62. This is impart because he does not want his darker, more primal personality traits to affect anyone's view of who he is or what he is, as he himself does not allow it to do so. While he is naturally loyal to those he considers his friends, and always friendly to folks, he is known to be dour, grumpy, and taciturn when worried or potentially offended. He's also quite stubborn all the time, to the point might say “That mule is as stubborn as Hank!”
63.
64. He is a lover of many things, including Shakespeare, Music of all types, Cooking, Twinkies, Novels, Sci-fi, and of course, Twinkies. Finally, he is well known for his love of sweater vests and crescent spectacles, if only because he feels they make him look more elegant.
65.
66. Physical Appearance: Hank is the perfect example of tall, dark, and 'ohgodwhatisthat'. Standing at five foot and eleven (plus one half) inches with his heels firmly upon the ground, Henry's hair is generally kept at about six inches in length, with his sideburns cleanly trimmed. His entire body is covered with downy medium blue colored fur, with darker inky blue-black fur growing where his facial hair and head of hair would normally grow. His fur is generally one to two inches thick though he does trim it to keep it no longer than two inches.
67.
68. He is broad shouldered and broad-chested, with arms and legs probably more suited for a man of six and two inches or more feet, and a lanky muscular build upon his torso, with noticeably large muscles upon his shoulders, biceps, triceps, and general arm areas, as well as his legs from the thigh down to the ankle. His ankles and feet are thick, and in the case of the latter rank at about a US shoe size of sixteen to seventeen. His eyes are an icy blue which contrasts quite well with his fur, and which before his transformation was the most likely part of his body to get complimented. [s]Now no one compliments him with anything other than 'Sasquatch has nothing on you, man!'[/s] Finally, his ears a decidedly pointed, akin to that of 'elf' of popular cultures, though they are near his face and simply somewhat more sizable than an average human's and pointed.

71.
72. History: Hank McCoy was born to an Scottish-American family and into a large one at that- his parents having multiple siblings and Hank being the only one born to Norton and Edna McCoy. Norton worked in an atomic power plant near to their home town in Dunfee, Illinois, and at said nuclear power plant he was a technician. With long hours, and hard work, his pride and the joy of his life was returning home to his wife, so when the Power Plant was having a melt-down it was without question that he would try to stop the melt-down which was occurring after an accident. While he was able to stop the melt-down, Norton was put on sick leave for nearly half a year and when he returned it seemed their had been no physical damage to the proud and stubborn man, nor signs of cancerous growths.
73.
74. The incident did not leave him unharmed though, and his genetics, particularly his reproductive genetics, were hurt. So it was not a surprise when half a year from his return to work, Edna had their only son, who they named Henry Johnathan McCoy and who was born a mutant, with his x-gene active and with his hands and feet larger than a baby's should have been at that time. The mutation was more than that, and Henry, or Hank as he would be called by his family was a quick learner- mastering walking by the time he was four months old (in no doubt part thanks to his natural sense of balance) and speaking by the time he was fifteen months old.
75.
76. The boy, despite being protective and friendly, would never be blessed with a sibling, as his father's reproductive harm was enough that he and Edna simply could not get pregnant again even after years of trying. While Hank started in school at the normal age, even at 5 he was larger than many of the other children in width and height, and so he gained his first of many nick-names, “The Magilla Gorilla,” to which the boy promptly hung said bully from the junglegym. Afraid of the aggression and noticing the clear intelligence the boy possessed, his school approached his parents about placing him in advanced classes, and after agreeing that only part of his classes would be mainstream and with other children in his grade, he began a self-motivated educational track and while he tested out of grades 1 through fourth, he soon found himself progressing two grades in one year.
77.
78. This was of course spurred on by his parents, as the boy would no doubt be given more scholarship opportunities the better the grades he had the earlier, and the local school district offered a scholarship which had an amount tied to every semester before they would normally graduate that a child graduated. So by the time he was fourteen, Henry had graduated from High School with honors, spoke three languages, and had already proved himself to be a true renaissance boy (including trying to build a hand glider and claiming he had been inspired by DaVinci's work).
79.
80. Of course this meant that he was able to get into MIT, and with scholarships, grants, and even a scholarship from his father's workplace. While he could have probably had an easier time going and taken less loans if he had waited until he was larger, older, and more athletic, the child soon found himself in a place that he had practically dreamed of, where he could learn by doing just as easily as by reading- so didn't mind. Over the course of his undergraduate tenure Hank met Tony Stark, and became acquainted with him though not properly friends given their different majors and the fact that their personalities and time impeded full and true friendship possibilities.
81.
82. Finishing his major in three years, Hank then moved on to Medical School, continuing his ferocious devouring of knowledge. Medical school took him longer, given his interest in biology and genetics in particular, and he was nearing the age of twenty-one by the time he graduated it. Of course, part of this slowing of progression was Henry's meeting of a Professor Xavier and becoming a student at his institute around the time he was nineteen years old. It was no surprise to Hank that he was a mutant, having always thought himself different, but he assumed any mutation which he had came from his father's exposure to radiation, and not any particular gene.
83.
84. Of course, in the September, 11th, 2001, the Attacks on the Twin Towers occurred, and the empathetic and passionate Beast immediately volunteered to help out, finding another part of his calling. Rather than heading towards being a geneticist, he decided that he would attempt to become a medical doctor and become a geneticist in time, so following his graduation from Medical School, he began internship at Bellevue Hospital, and following his three years of internship he began his career as a physician, as well as at-home study and work for his PhD and to further his geneticist specialization.
85.
86. Things were happy for Hank, learning more about himself and his kind at Xavier's Institute and making friends, all the while helping people at the Hospital and the Institute given his medical training. It felt fulfilling, and even despite the fact that some people still whispered or thought words like 'monster' or 'beast' or if they were particularly humorous or childish, 'magilla gorilla'- he was happy with himself as he worked at the hospital.
87.
88. Until a fateful physical sometime during the winter of 2008, when Hank's guard was down the most after someone like President Liu winning the election. A plant for Weapon X was administering the physical, and taking notes on all the hospital personnel. It seemed that Weapon X was already aware of mutants and had detected certain markers in Hank, so sometime in between taking a nap in his apartment and the time he was supposed to return for his shift at the hospital, he was tranquilized and abducted.
89.
90. The reason was simple, Mutant X had discovered he was a mutant and not only was he a mutant, but he was a mutant who naturally produced large amounts of a hormone which would equivalent to the synthetic substance 'mutant growth hormone', and this was enough for them to take him. When he came to, they had taken a sizable amount of the hormone from him, as well as done dozens of tests upon him. Why exactly? They wanted to synthesize the hormone in the hope of weaponizing mutants or better yet, using it to create loyal super-soldiers at a moment's notice.
91.
92. For months they kept him captive, performing tests upon him and extracting more of the hormones, before they felt they had enough to synthesize it themselves and did a further test on things- using their modified formula and modified hormone, and injecting with it to find out what it would do. The result was painful, horrifying, and disheartening. They threatened that he would never escape their clutches enough in the time which he was handled, but while his mind never broke, his body did. A proud young human had stood there once, a sobbing blue furred mutant monster crouched now.
93.
94. As they tested him, all of his abilities seemed to be increase- though shockingly to the scientists, his intelligence seemed to have decreased. Of course, it was an act on his part but it was enough for them to find flaw with the project and enough for them to attempt to transport him to a more secure facility where they could see what went wrong and dissect him. They felt his intelligence was lessened enough that they didn't even properly sedate and restrain him, and with all of his strength he wrenched his restraints from himself. In a furor which he does not properly remember, he escaped the facility with minimal causalities but severe injuries caused by him. He felt no remorse, but he felt guilt, and he felt shame.
95.
96. He could have returned to Xavier's, and no doubt his friends- almost family as they were, would have welcomed him with open arms, but he chose instead to not leave the tunnels which he had escaped to soon after breaking into the facility. Inevitably, Doctor McCoy found himself amongst the Morlocks, and in a brave new world.
97.
98. He didn't leave for Xavier's, even though nearly a year of his life had been stolen by Weapon X, and instead he tried to find a place amongst the Morlocks. With his skill as a medical doctor and geneticist, as well as his other skills- he could have made a permanent place for himself among them, no doubt. However, as he heard the stories which he could have, and saw the results of their basic mutations, he found himself overwhelmed with guilt.
99.
100. He had been blessed with a mostly normal life with his mutation in tact, and yet these Morlocks, his friends- comrades who he would call family, had no such benefit, or the majority of them didn't. Some were miracles to even still be alive. While he spent a year there amongst them caring for them, in the end he found himself filled with the need to return to Xavier's.
101.
102. For simply because he was fur covered, he was no less a man with the X-gene. He may have been a monster, but he was a mutant first, and his family were all mutants. He had to help all mutants, and his skills as a MD were wasted without funding and help- and if only the mutants with less visible mutations stood their ground against those who hated their kind, what would it say for those monsterous mutants like himself and the Morlocks? They needed a champion, championing their cause and protecting them just as well.
103.
104. So he left the tunnels, promising to return when he could and making sure to leave contact numbers in case there was an emergency, both as their doctor and their friend. It wasn't an easy trek home, but with the help of a trenchcoat and some nice wooded areas, he sound found Xavier's, recounted his story and began to resume his life.
105.
106. No man, human, mutant, super-human or otherwise, was going to stop Hank McCoy, Beast or not, from being who he was meant to be. So while he may not have returned to Bellevue (not that they'd have let him) he did begin remotely working for a genetics firm owned by Stark Industries, thanks to previous contacts with Richard Stark, lucky as he had been- and a bit of luck.
