  26. It was a serious day of planning on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, where the members of the Mario Party Legacy staff were meeting to discuss an important issue. The Lost Levels, Mario Party Legacy’s weekly podcast, had been losing viewers for the past two months and had just released an episode that generated no feedback or approval from viewers in the comments page.
  27. “What are we going to do in terms of improving the podcast?” SuperZambezi, the leader and founder of Mario Party Legacy, asked his staff.
  28. Vipsoccermaster, another administrator and Mario Party Legacy’s poll specialist, scratched his head and said, “We need to incorporate a better visual into the Lost Levels. Maybe we could use a PowerPoint presentation or game footage or something.”
  29. 8BIT, a news contributor, said, “I like that idea. If we incorporate game footage, it will give the viewers more to see and give them visual tips instead of just audial tips. That will help our community become more interested in this podcast.”
  30. “But then when that gets old, what happens?” SuperZambezi asked. “We’ll need to remove the podcast, which means that we will have to let some of the staff go too.”
  31. It was silent for a moment before SpiderStaryu’s eyes lit up. “What if we modified the podcast into something like a news broadcast?” he suggested. “We could record live footage of us speaking, give interviews, and create something similar to a news report.”
  32. SuperZambezi took a moment to process SpiderStaryu’s idea, then beamed. “I love it,” he said. “We will have to do some of it over Skype or FaceTime, but I’m sure we all have some sort of software to create a program like a news broadcast.”
  33. “I’m sure you do. It’s too bad you’ll never get to use it,” a deep and ominous voice said. The four administrators looked around and at each other.
  34. “Who said that?” 8BIT asked worriedly.
  35. At that moment, two masked figures carrying guns jumped out from behind a large section of shrubbery. They pointed their pistols at SuperZambezi and Vipsoccermaster, then called for two other masked figures to contain 8BIT and SpiderStaryu.
  36. “What do you want from us?” SuperZambezi asked, slowly standing up.
  37. “I want you all to remain quiet now and listen to what we say,” one figure said, moving forward. “If you yell for help, you will be shot. If you try to call authorities on your phones, you will be shot. If you try to fight us, you will be shot. Are we clear?”
  38. No one said a word.
  39. “Excellent,” Masked Figure 1 said. “Remain as quiet as this and you may stay alive a little longer. Now, follow me.”
  40. * * *
  41. The commenting section on the latest Mario Party Legacy article was pushing Disqus to the comment limit. A new Super Smash Bros. for 3DS / Wii U updates page for the latest week had not been created, and all were beginning to worry.
  42. Boo3DSmashBoo posted, “None of the administrators has commented since last Saturday. Is there any update on their return from Oahu?”
  43. “I haven’t seen anything yet,” Luigiguy567 wrote. “I’m starting to worry about them.”
  44. “You think something might have happened to them?” Mister Sushi asked.
  45. “I’m just saying it’s a little fishy,” Luigiguy567 wrote back.
  46. “They were supposed to return yesterday,” Yoshiman222 said. He was on the Mario Party Legacy staff as a Community Night Coordinator and had assumed the role of the leader since SuperZambezi’s absence.
  47. GameGuy5 said, “Maybe they are just trying to play a trick on us and make us wait, then bombard us with information next week.”
  48. ‘I doubt that,” T0blet said. “Knowing these guys, they would definitely get right up to date with all Smash Bros. information.”
  49. “Yoshiman222, have you received any information from any of them since their trip?” ImpaDude wrote.
  50. “Not since two days ago, on Tuesday. SuperZambezi told me that progress had been made on improving the Lost Levels podcast,” Yoshiman222 responded.
  51. “I think it’s our duty to go look for them,” LudwigVonKoopa7777 said, “but I just don’t know how that could work. Even if we could all get to Oahu in the next few days, how would we know where to look?”
  52. “That’s where I come in,” Yoshiman222 said. “SuperZambezi is a contact in my address book on my phone. I am able to track his phone and figure out his exact whereabouts.”
  53. “Perfect,” Sea Slug and Wagashi spoke for the first time. “Now we just need to figure out how to get to Oahu.”
  54. “I think it makes the most sense for all of us to meet in one place in the United States, then all take the same flight to Oahu,” Yoshiman222 said. “Los Angeles, California would work well because there are often direct flights from there to Oahu.”
  55. “That won’t work for me because I live in Europe,” Boo3DSmashBoo said.
  56. “Same here,” Braystar said. “I live in Australia.”
  57. “So then you guys and anyone else not in North America could just meet us there,” Yoshiman222 said. “Let’s all try to get to Los Angeles, California by this Sunday. Let’s hope we can find them!”
  58. After a few minutes with no activity, T0blet posted a link to the WestJet website which showed that a flight from Los Angeles to Oahu would be occurring the following Monday afternoon. This began a string of many messages which stated flight times and dates from different cities.
  59. All the Mario Party Legacy commenters sat back from their computers that night relieved that they would be attempting to find their administrators. They had no idea that they would need to do much more than finding the administrators for all to be safe.
  60. * * *
  61. “Okay, listen up. We need details,” Masked Figure 1 said.
  62. “What details are you looking for?” SuperZambezi asked, keeping firm until the end.
  63. “We need to know why you guys are trying to improve your podcast. It’s already lost!” another of the figures spoke for the first time.
  64. “It may be, but why do you care about it?’ Vipsoccermaster asked.
  65. “Your site is an excellent site with a lot of followers, and we will be able to use these followers to create an Internet cornerstone,” Masked Figure 1 said.
  66. “Internet cornerstone? What are you talking about?” SuperZambezi asked.
  67. “Our people have developed a type of software known as Bisector Central. Using this software, we will become famous and be able to sell this software to become more famous.,” a third man said.
  68. “But I still don’t get it,” 8BIT said. “How would you become famous?”
  69. “To overtake Mario Party Legacy, for example, we need access to the encrypted files. By gaining the code to access the encrypted files, we can then recreate them using Bisector Central and use them for other purposes. We would become the administrators of the site and be able to advertise this program,” Masked Figure 2 said. “Now, as for becoming famous, this software immediately goes to all devices associated with this site. This would mean all current administrators and commenters. Bisector Central allows for faster Internet and higher quality for online video channels and streaming services.”
  70. “So then, the commenters tell their friends, and the word is spread around. More people come to Mario Party Legacy, and everything works out for everyone,” Masked Figure 1 said.
  71. “But why did you come at us with guns?” SuperZambezi asked.
  72. “It was to add an effect that would cause you to listen to us. We’re not going to hurt you unless you don’t listen to us,” Masked Figure 1 said.
  73. “Give us five minutes to discuss, please,” SuperZambezi said.
  74. As the masked figures walked away, the head administrator looked at his staff and said, “I like this idea. We get more publicity and a better connection for everything? I’m in.”
  75. “Something seems a little fishy about all this, though,” 8BIT said. “Why would they hurt us if we don’t accept their idea?
  76. “I think they’re kinda desperate,” SuperZambezi responded. “This might be their last chance at creating a successful business.”
  77. “They had leather jackets and dress shoes. I think they’re doing okay,” SpiderStaryu countered.
  78. “You’re the boss. If you want to make this happen, do it. But just keep in mind that stuff goes wrong with software all the time. And we won’t have control over what goes on in the site,” Vipsoccermaster said.
  79. “Thanks for the feedback, and for sharing opinions. I really like this idea, so I’m going to let them do it on one condition- that we remain the administrators,” SuperZambezi said.
  80. “They already said that’s out of the question,” 8BIT said.
  81. “I don’t know. Maybe they’ll be a little more lenient if they know they have our consent to launch their software,” SuperZambezi said.
  82. “Okay, what is your decision?” the masked leader asked.
  83. SuperZambezi walked up to the leader, pulled out a piece of paper, and stuck it in the masked man’s hand.
  84. “This is the code for the encrypted files. Let’s make Mario Party Legacy link with Bisector Central,” Mario Party Legacy’s leader said.
  85. “Excellent,” Masked Leader said. “Any questions?”
  86. “Yes...well, more like a statement. We would like to remain the administrators of Mario Party Legacy,” SuperZambezi said.
  87. “Hmm...we can allow that as long as you will not back out of the deal,” Masked Leader said.
  88. “You have my word as a business partner,” SuperZambezi said.
  89. Masked Leader scratched his head, then said, “I trust you. But I don’t trust you enough. This isn’t just a contract. This is a permanent changing of everything Mario Party Legacy has known.”
  90. “I understand that. I want to upgrade the site and make the Internet easier to access for everyone,” SuperZambezi said.
  91. “I need you to prove this. So I’m sending all four of you on missions. They will be extremely difficult,” Masked Leader said. “SuperZambezi, you will be traveling to the graveyard nearby to search for a Bisector Central cable. It has a black cord with a white electric connector. Vipsoccermaster, you will be searching for another cable at the south area of the beach. 8BIT will be searching at the rainforest, and SpiderStaryu will be at the shipyard. These four cables will allow us to link Bisector Central to your computers and recreate the Internet- I mean Mario Party Legacy.”
  92. “What if we refuse?” SuperZambezi asked.
  93. “There will be consequences,” Masked Leader said. “Your missions begin Monday.”
  94. * * *
  95. While the administrators of Mario Party Legacy were negotiating with the Bisector Central team, all commenters on Mario Party Legacy who were interested in saving their leaders were flying to Los Angeles. Now, sixteen Mario Party Legacy commenters and Yoshiman222 were boarding the plane that would take them to Honolulu, Hawaii.
  96. The flight was long, and the commenters soon became bored, but spent much of the flight speaking to each other about how they would search for four different people at once. They did not know that Yoshiman222 already had an idea in place.
  97. This idea was shared to all the commenters after their flight had finished. Yoshiman222 led all the commenters into a sitting area once they had retrieved their luggage.
  98. “Okay, so there are four administrators we need to find, and sixteen of you. You’re going to split into groups of four, with me being an advisor and helper who tracks you and warns you of danger,” Yoshiman222 explained.
  99. “Excellent,” T0blet replied. “Tell us the groups and we’ll get started right away.”
  100. Yoshiman222 numbered all members off until there were four groups of four people. He then assigned each group a different colour. The Blue team consisted of T0blet, ImpaDude, Braystar and Nookling. The Green team was Mister Sushi, Bowser498, Boo3DSmashBoo and Waluigifan32. The Black team was GameGuy5, Sea Slug and Wagashi, The Final 10 and Curious User. Finally, the Red team consisted of Luigiguy567, LudwigVonKoopa7777, Dixie Kong for SSB4, and Person McPerson.
  101. “How do we know where to look for the administrators?” Luigiguy567 asked.
  102. “I know the general area of where SuperZambezi and company were meeting, so we’ll head over there and then split up,” Yoshiman222 explained. Right at that moment, Yoshiman222’s phone buzzed. He pulled it out and his face went blank.
  103. “What’s wrong?” Boo3DSmashBoo asked.
  104. “I now know the exact location of our team. But I can’t tell you here. We’ve gotta move.”
  105. After being driven to the meeting place of the administrators via bus, Yoshiman222 revealed what he’d seen.
  106. “SuperZambezi texted me to tell me that they’d been sent on missions that began today. He’s at the graveyard, Vipsoccermaster is at the southern beach, 8BIT is at the forest, and SpiderStaryu is around a ship port,” Yoshiman222 said. “Now the colours I gave your groups come into effect. Blue team, you’re headed to the shipyard to look for SpiderStaryu. The Green team will go to the south beach to find Vipsoccermaster. The Black team will go to the forest to find 8BIT, and the Red team will look for SuperZambezi in the graveyard.”
  107. “Let’s do it!” everyone shouted.
  108. And so the great mission began.
  109. * * *
  110. “Let’s go!” T0blet shouted at his teammates. “We need to split up and look in different parts of the forest. We’ve all exchanged numbers, so just call each other if you’ve seen something.
  111. “I’m headed to the north side of the harbour!” Braystar called back. He sprinted in the direction of the larger ships.
  112. Nookling looked at T0blet and asked, “Did Yoshiman222 say anything about what type of mission SpiderStaryu is on?”
  113. “Not a word to me,” T0blet responded. “Get to the east area of the harbour and search around and possibly inside the boats. ImpaDude?”
  114. “I’m here,” ImpaDude replied.
  115. “Go to the west side of the harbour and start looking in the boats. There isn’t a lot of open space in this area.”
  116. * * *
  117. “Okay, here’s my plan,” Bowser498 said to his teammates. “We need to each occupy a section of the beach. If we move further in as we keep searching, one of us should be able to find Vipsoccermaster.”
  118. “Sounds good. We should also be looking at the trees and down by the shoreline,” Mister Sushi said. “It shouldn’t be too difficult to track down Vipsoccermaster.”
  119. “Hey, what’s this?” Boo3DSmashBoo asked, reaching up and grabbing what looked to be an extension cord with white electric connectors.
  120. “No clue. What’s it doing out here?” Bowser498 responded.
  121. “Something tells me that this has something to do with Vipsoccermasters’s mission,” Waluigifan32 said. “What if he’s trying to find this cable for something?”
  122. “Or maybe it’s his, and he was just putting it there so that when he went into the water to search, the cable wouldn’t get wrecked,” Boo3DSmashBoo said.
  123. “Either way, let’s take it along. Then we can give it or return it to our administrator,” Bowser498 suggested.
  124. * * *
  125. “So, the forest is going to be a tough one. It’s dense and thick, and we won’t have a lot of time if 8BIT is on a mission,” Sea Slug and Wagashi said.
  126. “I think we should all start at one end of the forest and work our way through it,” CuriousUser said. “We will need to stick together.”
  127. “Why would we do that?” GameGuy5 asked. “It would make more sense to split up and each go our own way looking for him.”
  128. “It’s too dangerous in a forest. It’s easy to get lost,” The Final 10 said.
  129. “That’s right,” Sea Slug and Wagashi said. “If we all stick together, then we all have backup if one of us hits a trap or encounters some wild animal.”
  130. “So, we will start at this end and begin searching for 8BIT,” CuriousUser said, pointing to the nearest entrance to the forest. “It’s not that wide. We should be fine.”
  131. * * *
  132. “Now, this graveyard is gigantic, but it’s not too dense,” Luigiguy567 said. “We could probably all start at the perimeter and circle around the graveyard to see what’s going on.”
  133. “That seems too straightforward,” LudwigVonKoopa7777 replied. “SuperZambezi is the head administrator of the site. If these people want to do away with him, they wouldn’t make the mission so easy.”
  134. “I think- wait, I’m getting a call,” Dixie Kong for SSB4 said, pulling out her phone and answering it. She spoke for a few minutes before powering down her phone and saying to the group, “That was ImpaDude. He says that he found some sort of note that describes the mission. The administrators are supposed to find these electric cables to launch some type of software for Mario Party Legacy.”
  135. “Okay, so then the cable could be anywhere,” Person McPerson said. “Since it’s SuperZambezi they’re trying to trick, it’ll be in some strange place.”
  136. “An unmarked grave.” The words were out of LudwigVonKoopa7777’s mouth before he could even realize it. Everyone nodded at him in agreement.
  137. “That’s perfect,” Luigiguy567 said. “Now everyone split up and start looking!”
  138. * * *
  139. As all Mario Party Legacy commenters joined together in the search for their administrators, a different meeting had begun. The masked men watched the administrators in their search while discussing the next phase of the plan.
  140. Masked Leader said, “After they complete their missions, we must get rid of them somehow. Perhaps we should promise them money or something.”
  141. “They will not back down about remaining the administrators of Mario Party Legacy,” Masked Man 2 said. “What if we tried to give them something else?”
  142. “Maybe we should just wipe them out,” Masked Leader said. “When they give us the cable, they’ll have no defence around them. We can easily kill them and hide the bodies, then begin our quest to take over the Internet.” Suddenly, Masked Leader’s computer came to life, showing that they were receiving a call via webcam.
  143. “It’s the boss, guys. Stay quiet and listen to what he has to say,” Masked Leader instructed his henchmen. He accepted the call and said, “Good day, sir.”
  144. “It certainly is,” a deep, distorted voice replied. “I’m wondering if you’ve had any difficulty instructing Mario Party Legacy’s administrators.”
  145. “They only wish to remain the administrators once we take over the site.”
  146. “Unacceptable,” the voice said. “They must be taken out. Once they have retrieved the cables, they can in no way be associated with Mario Party Legacy. It is this site that will put our plan in motion, and no other.”
  147. “What will we do with the commenters?” Masked Leader asked.
  148. “The commenters are fine, just as long as they remain where they are. They will all think that it’s just improved software before everything crashes. Soon we will be controlling the Internet through Mario Party Legacy,” the boss said. “Do we have the encryption code?”
  149. “The leader- SuperZambezi- gave it to us a few days back,” Masked Leader said.
  150. “Excellent. Now we play the waiting game for them to find the cables,” the boss said.
  151. It was silent for a moment before Masked Leader jumped up and shouted, “Boss, I’ve found a problem. You know the commenters that we said were fine?”
  152. “That occurred just a few minutes ago,” the boss said, clearly annoyed.
  153. “Well, I’ve picked up some groups of them on my radar. I think they might be searching for their administrators,” Masked Leader said.
  154. “We need to send men out to stop them! Get two people for each group to the graveyard!” the boss shouted. “I myself will lead them to their trap.”
  155. * * *
  156. “T0blet, we’ve searched all the boats on this harbour. I have no idea where SpiderStaryu could be,” ImpaDude said.
  157. “I’m completely stumped,” Braystar agreed. “Whoever thought this up thought well.”
  158. Nookling rushed up, sweating and breathing heavily. “I just got back from the last boat,” he said. “There’s no way SpiderStaryu is here.”
  159. T0blet put his head in his hands and looked out over the waters. It was then that he noticed one final option- a boat that was drifting along in the middle of the harbour.
  160. “Guys, how well can you swim?” he asked. Everyone responded that they could swim well, so they all jumped into the water and kicked rapidly toward the sleek, blue boat drifting further off. Eventually, they caught up with the boat, and Nookling was the first to board. He opened the door to the cabin and sprinted in. Sure enough, there was SpiderStaryu, holding a black connector cable with white electric connectors.
  161. “Oh, thank goodness you’re okay,” T0blet said, sighing in relief. “Are you heading back to complete the mission?”
  162. “That’s my plan,” SpiderStaryu said. “You guys follow me at a safe distance. It’ll be good to have some backup.”
  163. “I’m going to call Yoshiman222 to tell him you’re safe,” T0blet said, pulling out his phone. When Yoshiman222 answered, T0blet said, “Great news! We have found SpiderStaryu and he appears to be safe.”
  164. It was silent for a brief instant before Yoshiman222 replied, “That’s awesome! You guys go help the Red team track down SuperZambezi at the graveyard now, okay?”
  165. “Sounds like a plan,” T0blet said.
  166. * * *
  167. The Green team was working well together, covering large areas of the beach and closing in on Vipsoccermaster. All members were working in unison, searching trees and holes while still holding the cable that they now knew was meant for Vipsoccermaster to find.
  168. This pattern was broken when Boo3DSmashBoo began to sprint ahead. Bowser498 called out to him, but there was no response. Once Bowser498 saw what his teammate was running at, he began to sprint as well.
  169. There was a small oasis straight ahead with a dip in the ground towards its centre. As all four members of the team reached this point, a sound not unlike the sound of a person digging became present. Waluigifan32 was the first to reach the dip, and there he found Vipsoccermaster digging around for the cable that Mister Sushi held.
  170. Mister Sushi walked up to Vipsoccermaster and asked, “Looking for this?”
  171. Vipsoccermaster looked up and breathed a sigh of relief. “It’s about time I found that cable,” he said happily.
  172. “It’s a good thing you’re safe too. We became concerned once we found out you were kidnapped,” Bowser498 said.
  173. “Well, I’m glad now that I’ve completed the mission and I have some backup with me in case there’s a confrontation. You guys know all about Bisector Central?” Vipsoccermaster asked.
  174. “Yoshiman222 told us all a little bit, but he wouldn’t say much,” Boo3DSmashBoo said. “I understand they want to upgrade the website.”
  175. “It’s a little more than that. I’ll tell you on the way,” Vipsoccermaster said. “But first, you should call Yoshiman222 so that he can stop worrying about me.”
  176. “Good plan,” Waluigifan32 said, pulling out his phone. He and Yoshiman222 spoke for a minute, then he put away his phone and said to everyone, “He wants us to go to the graveyard to search for SuperZambezi now. Also, the Blue team found SpiderStaryu.”
  177. “Good, that’s two out of four safe,” Mister Sushi said. “Let’s go find SuperZambezi!”
  178. * * *
  179. It had been a long and difficult trek through the forest, but now the Black team was edging closer to the end of the dense wood. Sea Slug and Wagashi was in the lead, and when he noticed movement, he began to move faster.
  180. “What’s going on?” GameGuy5 asked.
  181. “I saw something move,” Sea Slug and Wagashi replied, moving closer to the point at which the movement occurred. When the rustling stopped, the four commenters stopped moving and simply looked around, but then the movement began again, and everyone began to sprint.
  182. When they finally reached where they thought they’d seen movement, they began to scan the area. CuriousUser saw a shadow towards the right of the group, and pointed in that direction. It was then that The Final 10 shouted out, “Is anyone there?”
  183. “Hello?” another voice called out.
  184. All four commenters looked at each other and ran in the direction of the sound. Eventually they reached its source- it was none other than 8BIT!
  185. “8BIT? It’s so good to see you,” Sea Slug and Wagashi said.
  186. “Guys, I can’t believe you came to find me. I can’t believe you guys found me before I found the extension cord,” 8BIT said. Just then he looked to his left and saw it. Picking it up, he said, “Let’s get going towards my kidnapper. I need to show him I completed my mission.” “I think it makes sense to call Yoshiman222,” CuriousUser said.
  187. “I’ll do that,” GameGuy5 said, dialing Yoshiman222’s number. “Hey, we found 8BIT,” he said to his administrator.
  188. “Great. It’s just Zambezi now,” Yoshiman222 said. “You need to go to the graveyard to help search for him now. Then we can make our escape.”
  189. * * *
  190. Nineteen members of Mario Party Legacy stood at the entrance to the graveyard now- three administrators and sixteen commenters. The sole mission now was to rescue the head administrator and founder of Mario Party Legacy- SuperZambezi.
  191. “Okay, guys,” Vipsoccermaster said, “We should split up into groups again like you did before and search areas of the graveyard.”
  192. “How can we have even groups?” Luigiguy567 asked.
  193. “Maybe you guys should stay in your earlier teams and take the administrator you found with you,” 8BIT said. “Red team, you guys will have to go alone, but we’ll be close by.”
  194. “No, it’ll be fine, actually,” someone spoke from behind them. All of Mario Party Legacy turned around to find Yoshiman222 standing there smiling. “I can go with the Red team,” he said pleasantly.
  195. “So it’s settled,” SpiderStaryu said. “Let’s get going.”
  196. With twenty people searching for SuperZambezi, it wasn’t long before most of the graveyard had been searched. There was one final area, with only one grave in its centre that was unmarked and looked like it had been freshly dug.
  197. “I’ve got a bad feeling about this,” Mister Sushi whispered to Luigiguy567.
  198. T0blet was the first to reach the freshly dug grave, and he looked inside and gave a shout. Everyone else rushed forward and saw that SuperZambezi was trapped in the grave, bound down by ropes that attached to the slab of wood he was resting on. Slowly but surely, dirt was beginning to fill the grave. SuperZambezi’s eyes showed total panic.
  199. “Oh, no,” Vipsoccermaster said. “We’ve gotta figure something out.”
  200. “He can’t even move,” 8BIT said sadly.
  201. “And neither can you!” a deep voice shouted evilly. “Hands in the air, everyone!”
  202. Shock filled the graveyard as eight masked men appeared from behind a cluster of trees armed with rifles. They slowly circled around the group until they had formed a circle around them. Masked Leader then came out with a pistol and a computer.
  203. “Listen up!” a masked man shouted. “As you can see, your leader is trapped in a dire situation. Fortunately, you will be able to save him . . . at the expense of something else.”
  204. Masked Leader cleared his throat and shouted, “This computer is infected with a virus called Bisector Central. I’m going to call on somebody else to explain to you what it does. And that is because I am not the mastermind behind this operation.”
  205. The administrators exchanged worried glances at this statement.
  206. A heavily disguised man walked up from the back of the group and took the computer from Masked Leader. “Bisector Central is a virus that will, through computers and the electric cords your administrators spent hours searching for, hack into Mario Party Legacy and spread across the entire Internet. Soon the entire web will crash, and then all codes and passwords will become available to us. We can hack into any system, figure out what is going on in the world, stop it, and eventually take over the planet! It’s beautiful,” the man explained.
  207. “In doing this, your cyber-home and the Earth will be destroyed,” Masked Leader said.
  208. “So, you either have a choice between saving SuperZambezi or saving the world, or my true identity isn’t-”
  209. Then the mastermind of the Bisector Central operation whipped off his disguise and put his head down. Slowly he raised it, and smiled an all-too familiar smile to the site’s members.
  210. Vipsoccermaster’s eyes popped and he had difficulty finding words to speak. He finally settled on one word, a question.
  211. “Yoshiman222?” he asked weakly.
  212. * * *
  213. “All right!” Yoshiman222 shouted as Masked Leader began initiating Bisector Central. “Choose what you are rescuing, or we will choose it for you.”
  214. “You can’t do this!” 8BIT shouted back. “You won’t succeed!”
  215. “Ten seconds!” Yoshiman222 said.
  216. With one second left, SpiderStaryu shouted, “We want to save our leader!”
  217. Yoshiman222 looked at Mario Party Legacy’s podcast specialist and smiled. “Thank you, SpiderStaryu,” he said evilly. “That is exactly the option we were hoping you’d choose.” Yoshiman222 looked at Masked Leader, who nodded at him. He nodded back, then pulled out a remote control and pressed a button in the centre of it. On the main computer screen, a timer counting down from three minutes appeared.
  218. All of a sudden, three masked men pulled knives on Vipsoccermaster, 8BIT and SpiderStaryu and dragged them to the front of the group. Yoshiman222 snickered, then said to the commenters, “You guys are smart, and you really seem to care about your administrators. I witnessed that firsthand. I’m sure you’ve figured out by now that we can’t have these administrators around when Bisector Central launches, even though there is no defence against it. In three minutes my men will slit your administrators’ throats. It’s time to say goodbye.”
  219. The commenters all gathered around their longtime administrators and looked at their grim faces. Luigiguy567 made eye contact with 8BIT, who motioned with his eyes to the table that held the computer. LudwigVonKoopa7777 noticed this, and looked over to find three tranquilizer guns sitting about ten feet away from the main computer. Bowser498 saw the guns as well. Without warning, all three dropped to the ground and began to crawl toward the guns.
  220. Boo3DSmashBoo and Mister Sushi covered for them by yelling out to their administrators and trying to criticize Yoshiman222.
  221. “You say one more word, we kill them early,” the man holding 8BIT said.
  222. “One minute left!” Yoshiman222 shouted. Now the commenters began to look concerned, as they were unsure if the guns would be reached before the timer ran out.
  223. “Thirty seconds!”
  224. The clock continued to tick down, and Yoshiman222’s smile grew wider and wider. He finally said, “Goodbye!” and the masked men killed Mario Party Legacy’s administrators.
  225. That was at least what was planned.
  226. “Good-” was all Yoshiman222 got out before he was shot asleep by Luigiguy567. The masked men were delayed a moment in shock, which allowed two out of the three to also be put to sleep. Then T0blet and Boo3DSmashBoo rushed ahead and tackled the third man, while the rest of the commenters began either freeing the captive administrators or untying SuperZambezi. Soon both tasks had been completed, and everyone sat down.
  227. “Wow, what a weekend,” SuperZambezi said.
  228. “Yep, not at all what I expected to do,” Vipsoccermaster said.
  229. “What even happened?” Luigiguy567 asked. “I’m kind of in a daze.”
  230. “I think we won,” Boo3DGoldBoo said.
  231. “Not quite yet,” GameGuy5 said. This caused a brief stir in the crowd, and multiple pairs of eyes looked at GameGuy5 in shock. GameGuy5 said, “Sea Slug knows what to do.”
  232. He nodded at Sea Slug and Wagashi, who stood up, walked up to the table, grabbed the Bisector Central cable, and gave it a firm yank. He looked back at the rest of the Mario Party Legacy commenters and said, “Now we’ve won.”
  233. A huge cheer went up from the group of commenters and administrators before T0blet silenced them all. He said quietly but firmly, “There’s only one more thing left for us to do before all is completely restored. Ludwig7777?”
  234. LudwigVonKoopa7777 took a deep breath and said, “Let’s get out of here.”
