Century Parkside Review (Draft)

I don't normally write reviews but I feel I need to bring up some important issues my family and I had while staying at Century Parkside. First of all, there is an extremely bad roach infestation at the complex. I have never seen so many critters running around when I turned on the light. The final straw came when a roach crawling on the ceiling decided to sky dive and land in a cup of juice below. We called maintenance to complain nearly 10 times and each time their pest control solution didn’t work. The roach problem got worse and now there are even more tiny roaches roaming the hallway.
The maintenance team makes a lackluster attempt to solve any problems you find. Expect a 2-3 week wait before anything ever gets done. Oh and you won’t receive any status updates in the meantime. When they finally arrive things could not get any worse. They will not knock or say a word when opening your door. After the problem is found, they will put the blame on you. “You shouldn’t do X because that will clog the sink.” “Don’t put this or that in the washer because it will overflow”. We are very competent on how to use a sink and washer. The apartment has bad plumbing and the washer they gave us was invented in the 1880’s. The stove occasionally did not work due to faulty wiring. We went without using the stove for almost a month before they came to fix it. If the appliances were updated and replaced on a regular basis then there would not be so many problems.
The managers in the office did not offer any help at all! After you sign the dotted line, their hospitality goes out the window. During the first week we repeatedly spoke about some of the problems we saw and most of the time their response was indifferent and as if we are asking for too much. If I’m paying over 900/month then I hope I can have a decent conversation where my voice is heard.
Overall this is the worst experience I have ever had in apartment leasing. Yes the location is superb but is it worth 900+? I don’t think so.
