  1. HOW TO INSTALL THE MODJAM MODS!
  2. Firstly go to the following link and click "Download all mods"
  3. >>> http://mcp.ocean-labs.de/modjam/projects.php?type=Mod <<<
  4.
  5. Secondly, make sure you have MultiMC. This is what I will be using for this tutorial but you can use the vanilla launcher as well
  6. >>> http://multimc.org/ <<<
  7.
  8. Make sure to copy MultiMC to its own folder and extract it there.
  9.
  10. Now you should have all these mods downloaded go ahead and run MultiMC and follow these steps
  11. 1. Click on "Add a New Instance" (Top-Left, is a page with a star)
  12. 2. Put in "Modjam 4 Pack" as the name and select 1.7.2 as the Version
  13. 3. Select the pack when it is created and click on Edit Mods on the side
  14. 4. Now make sure the Version Tab is open and click on Install Forge
  15. 5. You want to select 10.12.1.1082 and press OK
  16. 6. Now go to the Loader Mods tab and click on View Folder
  17. 7. Now find the mod zip which contained all the modjam mods into this folder.
  18. 8. Extract it here (If you don't know how, go download WinRar)
  19. 9. Go back to MultiMC and you will see that the list of mods now contains all the modjam mods.
  20. 10. Currently there are some bugs and incompatibilities though so here are some mods I recommend disabling.
  21. - Cybernetica, crashes on startup
  22. - Elemental Caves, can be enabled but makes worlds very very laggy and is not recommended
  23. - Hardcore Nomad, has a conflict with Solstice and changes a lot of the core vanilla mechanics to be like UHC and is meant for multiplayer matches
  24. - Mores, does not crash but is very intrusive making every single piece of stone an ore. You can include it but for a playing experience it is not recommended
  25. - TBIRCME, Does not crash but makes worlds not render very well at all and makes it unplayable. Not recommended
  26. 11. With those 5 mods disabled I recommend grabbing a few more mods for the pack to help with a few things
  27. - CodeChickenCore and NEI (So you can see what the items and recipes are)
  28. - WAILA (So you can see what the item/block you are looking at is and where it is from)
  29. - Inventory Tweaks (imo an essential mod any time)
  30. - Minimap mod of choice (VoxelMap, MapWriter and Rei's Minimap are available) [Rei's for 1.7.2 is found on his twitter]
  31. - OpenEye, great for bug tracking and helpful for mod developers
  32. 12. OK, so if you have done that (or not) exit the Edit Mods tab by pressing Close and opening the Settings
  33. 13. In the settings go to the Java Tab and make the following adjustments. I recommend Java 7 64 Bit for this pack and 1.5GB RAM at minimum.
  34. - Change Minimum Memory Allocation to 2048MB (2GB). I recommend anywhere between 1536 and 4096
  35. - Change Maximum Memory Allocation be exactly the same
  36. - Tick the Java Settings Box and paste the following into the JVM Arguments:
  37. >>> -XX:+UseParNewGC -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CICompilerCountPerCPU -XX:+TieredCompilation <<<
  38. 14. Now that is done press OK and press Play and the pack should load. It may ask for your credentials if this is your first time on MultiMC
  39.
  40. Some other things you should note.
  41. 1. Kitchen Mod seems to be rendering weirdly in NEI. Be careful going through the pages
  42. 2. Corruption Mod is installed and makes the player slowly corrupt itself until they complete some challenge in the End. If you don't want this you can type /corruption disable and it will remove this but you can use /corruption enable when you think you are ready for it
  43. 3. If textures seem to be flipped, that is normal... it is part of 1.7.2 and is a bug that has not been fixed. Here is a mod that seems to fix the issue though minecraft.curseforge.com/mc-mods/79384-littlefix
