For a friends birthday

I know I suck at writing, but happy birthday.

>And today's a special day, or the ponies around you think so.
>Your birthday.
>Some of your friends are already here at the little party Pinkie threw for you.
>Ponies show up, wishing you a happy birthday, baring a gift of some sort.
>You didn't ask for anything, or really want anything, but you accepted the gifts regardless.
>You hear a knock on the door, and you're the closest, so you answer it.
>As you open the door, a blast of confetti showers down on you
>"HAPPY BIRTHDAY NONNY!!" is all you hear through the ringing in your ears from the explosion of confetti.
>Pinkie immediately starts doing some sort of dance, how on two legs, you'll never know.
>"It might as well be your birthday, so why don't we have a party! Even if your age isn't real and your body's an illusion!"
>Body's an illusion? Age isn't real?
>You shrug it off.
>It IS Pinkie after all.
"Thanks for showing up, Pinkie... Wait.. Don't you kind of live here?"
>"OF COURSE I'd show up for your party! I hope you're enjoying it so far~!"
"There's no way I could NOT have fun at one of your parties Pinkie."
>The party really was a blast, with all kinds of games, and fun things to do.
>Even Cranky Doodle was there, and HE was having fun.
>That's saying something when your parties are good enough for him to be having fun.
>You were just happy people showed though, it meant a lot to you.
>As the party begins to settle down, you head upstairs to relax a little.
>You saunter into the first room, filled with more pink than you'd ever seen.
"P-pink..."
>Sitting on Pinkie's bed, you think about the ponies that were there.
>Were they your friends? Or were they just replacements for the ones you lost when you came to Equestria?
>Were friends that easily replaced?
>The door opening makes you jump a little, but spotting Pinkie behind it, you relax quickly.
>"Hiya Nonny! Did you like your party?"
"I did, it was a lot of fun Pinkie," you say, trying to mask your emotions with a smile.
>She doesn't seem convinced.
>"Why'd you leave...?"
"I... Just needed a little time to myself. Being around that many people is something I'm not used to..."
>"But what's the REAL reason?"
"..."
>That easy to read...
"I... I just don't know why all this matters... I try to understand every single day, but I can never find an answer..."
>Her sad look only hurts you more.
>These parties mean everything to her... But here you're not having fun...
"I'm sorry Pinkie, I should stop moping-"
>Before you can finish, she had wrapped herself around you in a hug.
>The tears finally start to flow through wide eyes.
>"The purpose is to enjoy yourself. And when you feel lonely or sad, I'm here for you. We all are. In the end, friends and family are what matter."
"T-thanks Pinkie..."
>"I do what I can. Now COME ON, there's still some CAKE left!"
>You follow Pinkie to what's left of the party, and enjoy the rest of the night with her.
