  1. Hello,
  2.
  3. I and several other colorblind gamers have begun forming a group dedicated to getting better colorblind support in games (starting with Overwatch). This is the first group (that we're aware of) that is focused on Colorblind gamers.
  4.
  5. The purpose of this post is to try to get help from more players to help us whether they're also colorblind or not.
  6.
  7. Right now, colorblind support exists for Overwatch, which is a great consideration since most games don't even have any options for it, but the implementation of it is in a very poor state that still leaves the game unplayable for many. I won't go into too many details, but I will link several reddit posts at the bottom of this post explaining why it's broken.
  8.
  9. We know Blizzard is aware that colorblind mode is broken. However, they have not mentioned their plans whether they intend fix it or not. Jeff Kaplan made a big post on all of the upcoming plans for Overwatch's future, but doesn't mention Colorblind changes. That may not sound like a big deal, and you might be thinking that they're probably going to announce fixes soon. But in Jeff's large post after mentioning all of the possible planned features he says in bold "some of this stuff might not happen".
  10.
  11. So where does that even leave Colorblind options if the lead developer is willing to mention plans for features that aren't guaranteed to come out, including choosing random poses and equipping multiple sprays simultaneously, but give no hint towards whether Colorblind options will be fixed?
  12.
  13. Our group is concerned that the silence about Colorblind mode is because Blizzard is either waiting and judging their plans off of the community's continued feedback for it, or they are planning on not making changes and waiting for requests for support to die off.
  14.
  15. In either case, our group is trying to work together to *politely* focus our feedback together to get more visibility on the forums, twitter, reddit, etc. To do that, we're looking for more gamers who are either concerned about accessibility in gaming for, or are colorblind gamers themselves.
  16.
  17. If you're interested in helping get better colorblind options for Overwatch (and other games in the future), you can join our subreddit /r/colorblindgamers to see major announcements and any new posts on the official overwatch forum for improved colorblind support.
