- +JETHRO MCCORMICK __ For many people they want things to be "all or nothing" (i.e., always a fake panda or always a real panda) when in reality it can be a combination. For example, many movies make use of a stunt double. That doesn't mean those movies consist _only_ of stunt doubles! _There's a real actor for most of the movie!_
- It's just that for certain _portions_ of scenes the stunt double can be used to make the movie more entertaining. As you note, this can all help to bring in more paying customers.
- Another example could be: if you were to show footage of a small _but real_ crocodile and then cut to a hyper-realistic (fake) replica of the crocodile being held in the hands of a news reporter, then an audience can be misdirected into believing the fake being held _is a real crocodile_ - and perhaps also believe that the intrepid news reporter is much braver than he or she really is!
