  1. {NARRATION} The sun was setting on the distant horizon. The darkness of night, your friend on this occasion, began to envelop the land. The shadows stretched around you as you plodded along the Bygonegrove to where you shall meet your informant. You had your doubts about him of course and if he didn't show then your entire night was a flop. But there was something in his message, some form of guileful pleading that couldn't help but catch your interests. Your informant is one of the servants working the manor and he has agreed to give you all the information you need in order to take a share of your profits for the night. He is asking for one fifth of it all as an equal partner. At least that is what his first offer was in his letter. He may have changed his mind or you may be here to refute it, your motives are your own. But whatever you are here for it involves this man and this Baron. The Baron himself, Baron Cassidy von Grouse, is your target and you don't have much information in the way of him other than he's loaded and there's a way to take some of that heavy gold off of his hands. The forest around you is silent as you come into a clearing where one man sits there. He is skinny, ragged and rather old. A dog end of a cigarette hands limply from his mouth. Unlit as of yet. He hears you arrival and stands to greet you. He is dressed in a formal servant attire and bows to you as he would his master. "I see you have considered my request. Very good. I have all the information you need so long as you all uphold your end of our bargain." "One fifth of the haul sent to a location I will specify once we have agreed upon it. Failure to do so will result in a report being sent to the Baron telling him who exactly has parted him with his possessions. If you try to kill me once I have given you this information a similar set of events will unfold and you will most assuredly be caught." "I have a lot riding on this so I thought you should all have as high stakes as I do." He smiled, it wasn't friendly but it wasn't unfriendly. It simply had no mirth. "So then, who do I have the pleasure of working with tonight?" He eyes you all with beady almost rodent-like eyes. "I am Matthew Gartner, your informant for this evening."
  2. [15:11:08] After a refreshing evening with Tanner, Charle felt a tinge of confidence overwhelm her being, as if she could take on anything in the world by his side. The nasty side effects of love indeed, but one she was fully aware of due to her current career orientation. All these hormones and feelings, all could be explained by chemicals and basic reasoning. But she chose to leave those aside today, to live in blissful ignorance so her spirits would be up high.
  3.
  4. Now it was the endearing darkness that had greeted them for this fine little operation Charlie had prepared for her troupe. With Ringo gone, she could easily replace the spot with none other than the man she had appropriated for herself: Tanner. The squad was set to meet around these parts - the coordinates were actually quite clear, but it wasn't uncommon to get lost in these woods.
  5.
  6. There was no need for a mask among these people, nor the informant, as there'd be no deal if he weren't aware of their identities. An individual too resourceful to dupe with simple fakes, the base way to proceed would be indeed to go naked.
  7.
  8. "Right. One fifth of whatever we get. This'll depend on the accuracy of the intel really, so don't get your hopes up too high."
  9.
  10. A little bit of snark and authority to establish her position as the leader, though all she was was merely empty words as all of this had been discussed beforehand. Once could see this as a briefing for the others.
  11.
  12. "The party's going down tonight, we just need the agreed plans and hired security. Also potential information on the artifacts on display and most of all ... Anything you have on the safe."
  13.
  14. Her voice was monotone, neither a smile nor a frown on her visage.
  15. (Charlie Avaline)
  16. [15:25:39] Well, it was about time that she got out again. And this was certainly some reason to be out. She hadn't truly been expecting to go on something like this, and especially not with Veridia. But, here she was. So, she figured that she might as well make the best of it. Though, this was the kind of job she typically left for others. Perhaps it would be fun then, to actually get her hands dirty on an actual dangerous job?
  17.
  18. Walking up to the meeting spot, she would wait in the back while charlie talked to the informant. While, yes, she was here. This wasn't exactly her plan, so she would let the rest of them handle it. While she did run a mafia, she was ok letting others take charge for a little bit. Unless of course they proved themselves incompetent, but she hadn't seen that yet. Well, besides the fact that they let the informant keep his share...
  19.
  20. Buut, that didn't truly matter, now did it. a fifth of what they were after, well, it was still an awful lot. Surely she could find some way to spread it around. Either way, she was prepared for whatever came their way. The huge pair of weapons on her back showed that. And, if it truly came down to it, her mournegale wasn't too terribly useless, or at least she didn't think so.
  21. (Erika Giachetta Alesci)
  22. [15:26:30] Veridia had walked onto the scene cloaked and hooded. She wasn't all to sure if this was the right place, so she walked around for some time until she caught sight of Charlie, a man, and a blonde that made her head hurt when she looked towards her. Like her head was trying to tell her something. They were talking to someone. Approach. The voice said. Amoung other things, at least. "Don't... Tell me what to do..." Veridia would have put her hands on her head. It hurt. Her head just hurt. The constant chatter. The lack of anything she could do about it.
  23.
  24. She would just try to ignore the chatter for the time. It was all she could try to do for some time. And as much as she tried she simply heard the voice later. She'd pull down her hood and moved towards the two before they could keep going without her.
  25.
  26. Her gray eyes laid on the man for a few moments. The Pink Haired One... Charlie was it? The voice said. Her eyes moved onto Charlie, not giving a look to the blonde. "H-Hai... Charlie." She gave the best smile she could manage towards the pink haired friend of her's. But it wasn't a very good one/
  27.
  28. Regardless, she was here and ready to do whatever. She didn't exactly remember. She'd hold her head for a moment trying to get even the slightest memory.
  29.
  30. The Heist. The voice said. "R-Right... That's... That's what we're doing..." The voice was useful when it wasn't driving her over the edge. But from how she looked, she probably long since passed that. Long passed that.
  31.
  32. She gave the contact a small look. He was probably explained something alittle earlier, but she didn't didn't catch any of it. Not like she was really here for anything of value to most people, like gold or crowns. No. She was here for pretty much one thing.
  33.
  34. Thrilling... The voice said, wanting Veridia to finish the statement. "Fun..." She'd mutter. She was only left to imagine what was in store, that could provide.
  35. (Veridia Alesci)
  36. [15:32:28] That damn collar was off for the time being, and a nasty scarring could be found on his neck. He rubs at it gently, but even touching it still felt sore and pained him, so he opts to keep away from it at the time being. He slides along with the rest of the lot, merely listening in quietly. He is ever so watchful of his surroundings, as per usual, but he otherwise misses most of the details, save for the most important ends. A heist? Would it be right for him to get involved in such things? Well; he did need the money, and whatever else he could get out of this - but more importantly, he needed to ascertain that Charlie was safe for the most part.
  37.
  38. She was use to these things, wasn't she? He does recall the time the girl was much younger, having stolen things such as treats or desserts from the bakers down in the market at Nostvale. A heist that went with two of his friends getting jailed for awhile, but thankfully nothing serious. Eventually he follows behind and waits for them to make their most, hawkish eyes set onward.
  39.
  40. .. He was refreshed now, so he could relax and take it easy. For the most part, at least.
  41. (Tanner du Lac)
  42. {NARRATION} "A safe? My my, you really are ill informed aren't you." A sneer crossed his rat like face. "Oh, you wont be hitting a mere safe. You will be stealing from the man's private vault, complete with regular patrols and alarmed cases. There are ten of them in total and you will have to disarm each one individually. Only a skilled runewriter will be able to disarm them completely." "The vault is on the ground floor and in the exact centre of the house. It has more than one door in. Quite apart from most other vaults but it is lined with security. Thankfully, with the party going on, the Baron has left the security a little lax, after all, he wants everyone to see his oh so beautiful collection." Matthew spat on the ground in a distasteful way. "And as for your way in, I have these." He rummaged behind the log he was sat on and produced two sets of fine clothes, one male and one female. "The gentleman and one of the ladies will be posing as a pair of siblings on the guest list. They will act as the spotters and they will be your distractions for the guards. The other two will have to enter the building another way." "Your covers will be Lord and Lady Benedict. Sir Arthur Benedict, the young son of an old war general. And Lady Scarlet Benedict. Haughty young heiress to the fortune. You are there to spot for any patrols and the like. You're also there to cause a commotion to attract the guards if need be but try not to blow your cover alright? The Baron is quite nasty." "As for the other two. There are three entrances. The cellar, the back door and the roof. Take whichever one you want and make your way to the back of the kitchen, there are two spare maid uniforms there for you to help blend in. I have these for you all." He held out four golden earrings. "These will let you talk to each other while you're nearby. The maximum range covers the whole house." "No one else can hear what you hear from it but they can hear you speaking into it. So don't be daft. The Baron will be giving a speech half an hour after you arrive, that is your window, there will be less guards but your covers will be blown immediately if you are found. That's the plan, get in, loot while the daft old sod is talking and then get out." "Easy as." He lit his cigarette and took a long drag. "Oh and there's bound to be stuff outside of the vault, all o' that is up for grabs too and all of that is money in your own pockets. I just want me share of the main stuff." (There are ten cases to hit, each one is worth one tenth of the main loot unsurprisingly. There are some small fluff items around the corridors, no equippables out there but they are worth some scraps of Crowns. All of which goes to whoever carries it out unless you all make rules regarding that. I'm not going to divide up the treasure, that's your job.)
  43. [15:51:15] Erika would perk up as the informant started talking. This was certainly interesting. Regular patrols, alarmed cases. It sounded just like something out of a spy novel. Most certainly a more fanciful notion. Usually, the spies had far better chances. Though, they also seemed to have the right number of people for the group.
  44.
  45. Of course, then the informant would pull out two disguises. And then tell them who they were supposed to be. Certainly far more planning then she expected from a mere servant, but interesting nonetheless. The role he described, it was probably more vain, and far more selfish, but it was certainly something she could do, considering who she was. And in fact, she would bring that up.
  46.
  47. "I think I should probably take the role of the lady. I mean, that's basically what I am. Just, not officially. You could say. Either way, let me see that outfit.."
  48.
  49. Reaching out, she would grab for the outfit. Though, carefully, in case the material was fragile. She did know to be careful with things, and not dressing appropriately, or having ones clothes messed up, would be a dead giveaway.
  50. (Erika Giachetta Alesci)
  51. [15:54:40] Tanner was obviously with her from the start and Erika was a complete mystery to Charlie apart from her origins. This left only Veridia to greet really. While Charlie opened her arms to allow for a ritualistic hug with the insane girl, but her more distressed behaviour would leave the Avaline preoccupied. She'd pause upon wtinessing the Alesci's 'stranger than usual' attitude.
  52.
  53. "Veridia? You okay?"
  54.
  55. A hand was set on the young girl's shoulder with a look of concern sent to her. It wasn't enough to deter Charlie into embarking the lass into the whole chaotic show, as Veridia was such a wildcard, but the idea of something going terribly wrong lingered in her mind.
  56.
  57. Her focus veered back toward the informant and the details were clearly exposed. While it seemed complex when heard as is, when broken down it wouldn't be too difficult to comprehend. Two teams, a simple time table, and a safe fairly easy to locate. The only true challenge would be the timing, in which the tools given by the informant would help greatly. The earset would be graciously accepted by the pink lass before she'd set it in her pocket.
  58.
  59. She'd also take a second one and relay it directly to Tanner. Her hand posed on his and lingers for a moment. The tip of her fingers gently brushed against his all too coveted hands. Gaze faced the young man as well. He knew what THAT glance was.
  60.
  61. A tinge of jealousy would overwhelm Charlie, however, as it seemed Erika would jump on the occasion to be Tanner's inevitable partner.
  62.
  63. "Wouldn't it be better to have two nobodies play the relevant folks rather than someone from a known family? This could be a chance for you to bond with lil' Veridia here?"
  64.
  65. A smile was given to Veridia before she'd reach for the outfit, despite Erika's appropriation of it.
  66. (Charlie Avaline)
  67. [16:07:28] Veridia would have been asked if she was fine. You know what to say. The voice said. "I..." She didn't know what to say. She'd rub her head as she looked at the ground for a few moments. Tell her your find. The not so enlightning voice said. "Fine. I'm just fine."
  68.
  69. Her eyes went over to the man, talking. She wasn't exactly listening. The voice would have been keeping the information for her. She'd would just keep her eyes on the contact and made it looked look as if she was listen. And started wondering if this would have been any fun at all. She couldn't really tell, but it sounded as if they would be doing more sneaking around rather than fun.
  70.
  71. Which made her give a small look over to Charlie once the contact stopped for a moment... or completely. She wasn't paying attention anyway, so it didn't matter.
  72.
  73. She looked to Erica as Charlie suggested the two be partners or something. It looking at the blonde came with small aches of her head, which just made her look back to Charlie.
  74.
  75. Unsure of what to do really...
  76. (Veridia Alesci)
  77. [16:08:19] The Narrator: (I'll do a quick narrate to move things along
  78. {NARRATION} Matthew finishes his cigarette and chucks it onto the ground. "I don't really care which of you three is the spotter just make sure you don't cock it up and everything will go as planned. And make sure you get me my share. You've got an hour to get there so you best start walkin'. I'll be working there but you are not to interact with me in any way and if I am the one to catch you do not expect any help. I can't compromise myself." He stamped out the end of the cigarette and began to wader off in the direction of the manor.
  79. [16:12:35] Charlie Avaline: <*Glanced over at Veridia's still distressed state.*> ... Actually fine. Take the role.
  80. [16:13:26] Charlie Avaline: May as well no compromise your only runewriter anyway.
  81. [16:13:26] Erika Giachetta Alesci: Huh? Wasn't expecting that, but fine.
  82. [16:13:26] Charlie Avaline: (not*
  83. [16:13:26] Charlie Avaline: <*Hand grabs Veridia's*> You okay, hun?
  84. [16:14:17] Veridia Alesci: <_Fine_> Fine...
  85. [16:14:17] Charlie Avaline: ... Are YOU sure?
  86. [16:15:08] Veridia Alesci: Yes...
  87. [16:15:08] Charlie Avaline: Okay then, let's go!
  88. [16:15:08] Veridia Alesci: Okay.
  89. [16:15:08] Erika Giachetta Alesci: Hm...
  90. [16:15:08] The Narrator: (Alrighty, narrating
  91. [16:15:08] Erika Giachetta Alesci: Veridia, it's been a while. I uh, brought you something.
  92. [16:15:08] Erika Giachetta Alesci: *pulls a cookie out*
  93. [16:16:00] Veridia Alesci: <*grabs....That hasn't changed about her*>
  94. [16:16:00] Erika Giachetta Alesci: So uh,
  95. [16:16:00] Veridia Alesci: ?
  96. [16:17:42] Veridia Alesci: <*eats cookies slowly... waiting for whats after the "uh"*>
  97. [16:17:42] Erika Giachetta Alesci: Didn't get much of a chance to ask earlier, how you've been. Figure I might as well ask now before we do this, in case something happens.
  98. [16:17:42] Veridia Alesci: Fine...
  99. [16:18:33] Erika Giachetta Alesci: Hm...
  100. {NARRATION} You make your way towards the direction Matthew had left in, following the trail he had so graciously left behind of lit dog ends. Eventually after about a 45 minute walk you come out to the edge of a clearing, far off into the centre you can see your target, the manor. There is a lit path nearby that leads right to the front door, the path a guest would take. The other two will have to choose which entrance they want, the cellar, the roof or the back door. All of them are perfectly viable options with their own pitfalls and trials. It is up to the two rogues to choose which path and how to approach it. Erika, it is your job to make your way to the front gate and attract the guard's attention long enough to buy your friend's time to sneak in. The better you are, the easier they have it but the more likely it is for you to be caught. The speech starts in forty five minutes. (not irl time)
  101. [16:27:05] The Narrator: (And then you can start getting greedy.
  102. [16:27:56] And they were off. The roles were settled and now it was going to be Veridia and herself for most of the adventure. It was bettert his way, as Charlie noticed the strange discomfort felt by the deranged lass when around her sister. The Avaline had a pretty decent grasp on the girl's madness, as such it'd likely be for the better to proceed in this manner.
  103.
  104. Nearing the egde of the clearing, Charlie would observe the building from afar. A pair of small binoculars would make the procedure easy. She attempted to spot any potential stationed guards. So far, there weren't many at all as it seemed the party had started. While security was certainly lax, it felt more like the guards were spread thin and caught into the chaos rather than reduced. The Avaline could spot a few, hopefully Erika's expertise in the undergound dealings would make her efficient at sniffing those out.
  105.
  106. "Okay ... Now the fun begins, Veridia!"
  107.
  108. She'd announce, sitting on one knee at the clearing, still observing the mansion.
  109.
  110. "Erika, I trust you know how to get some attention. Veridia and I will have fun in .... The wine cellar should have minimal security. And should be close to kitchen given ... Rich fucks like their vintage, huh?"
  111.
  112. She proposed.
  113. (Charlie Avaline)
  114. [16:39:02] Erika would make her way along with Charlie and Veridia, until they would come across the manor. It was certainly large, and almost certainly filled to the brim with treasures and gold. No doubt collected unfairly. The implications certainly removed any moral doubts she would have had, as few as there were. But, that was beside the point. Pulling out her own small pair of binoculars, she would, like charlie, notice that they seemed more thinly spread then lax. Some of the guards would be obvious, armor, weapons, and all that. But looking around, she would notice a tactic she often used. Some of the guards were plainclothed. She would make sure to point that out.
  115.
  116. "So, they've been taking notes. Some of the guards down there are all dressed up and mingling with the crowd. Gotta say, they're doing ok, but they don't much hold themselves like nobles. I'd put money on them being guards, so I'd be wary of them. As for uh, well, getting in. I'll leave that all up to you."
  117.
  118. Ducking behind a tree real quick, Erika would change into the much fancier outfit, as well as fix her hair up into something much neater. Though, still rather short. And, when she walked out, while recognizable she would seem much more like a plain old noble then a mob leader. Putting out a good image had been something she had learned from her father, so, she certainly had experience in doing so.
  119.
  120. (Erika Giachetta Alesci)
  121. [16:43:18] Veridia quickly found herself following after the others, since it was that or to keep standing around. And she didn't want that. No, that would be boring. She'd stayed close to the sid of Charlie, an enlightening voice against her insanity.
  122.
  123. But she gave an glance over to Erika every now and then. With a wondering look on her face. She was alittle curious of who the woman was, because she couldn't quite remember. Like with her twin, Veridia couldn't recongize her. After everything she's put herself through, or rather all the trees she's been smashing her head against, her memory was pretty spotty. There were a few things she'd remembered, and alot she didn't
  124.
  125. When the mansion came into sight, Veridia found herself sitting down next to Charlie as she was looking through a pair of binoculars. Wondering what was there to see. But whatever it was, it probably wasn't anything that would have been any interest to her.
  126.
  127. She waited for something happen. And when Charlie said that the fun was about to begin, a smile grew over her face.
  128.
  129. It seemed like there would be some fun for her. And now that she knew that it was coming, she couldn't wait! I doubt you'll find any real fun. The voice, finally saying something. A frown would have spread across her face for a moment or two. She didn't like the statement.
  130. (Veridia Alesci)
  131. {NARRATION} As you approach the manor you certainly have some heads turning towards you. Guards and nobles alike stopped to watch your approach, you were someone they hadn't seen before and so that drew a lot of interest. A particularly bored looking guard in piecemeal armour walks up to you with a clipboard in hand. "your name, Miss..." His voice was droll and he was obviously not enjoying the night. With half lidded eyes he stares at you expectantly, waiting for your introduction. He was obviously only checking names against the clipboard but the other guests were likely to have questions. ------------------------------ The cellar ahead seemed to have many barrels outside of it, they were slowly being hauled in by a lone maid with a trolley. There were guards patrolling the grounds outside and up on the roof, occasionally looking down to make sure the barrels were being delivered accordingly. If times right, you could sneak in while their heads are turned or you can wait for the planned distraction.
  132. [16:57:48] It seemed Erika was all prepped and had the situation asserted and could engage with it without any issues. Good, it was one less worry for Charlie to hold on her shoulders. Now then, the Avaline would reach for Veridia's hand and help her get back up so they could do this properly.
  133.
  134. "Okay Veridia, we gotta be extra quiet at the start! If we get spotted ... We lose the game! Like hide and go seek! The goal ... Steal a maid's outfit!"
  135.
  136. As they approached, Charlie would signal Veridia to stop moving and keep quiet via gesture. They were about a hundred meters away from the cellar, hidden behind an assortment of bushes and trees which they had used to get this close up. However, now that they were here, it seemed the roof and the grounds were still crawling with eyes points at the cellar. Though it did confirm that the roof and even the back door weren't exactly the best initiatives given their positioning.
  137.
  138. "Alright ... We wait for Erika to do something really weird and we RACE to the cellar without being seen, okay?! Winner gets a cookie ..."
  139.
  140. Charlie eyed the maid while whispering to Veridia. Unsure what to do with her. Chances were she'd stay stationary unlike the guards who'd react to something rather bombastic happening. Even so, if they stayed stationary, they weren't instrumental to the cellar's operation, as such taking her out would alert them too quickly.
  141.
  142. They'll have to improvise. Perhaps wrecking a few barrels as a distraction? It would be possible with Charlie's teleportation methods ... Then again she'd hate to 'cheat' against Veridia.
  143. (Charlie Avaline)
  144. [17:02:04] Erika would approach the manor. Heads would turn in curiosity, no doubt because they had never seen her before. She did know nobles tended to be a closely knit bunch. Though at the same time, they tended to be the most treachorous, all working towards their own goals. Most of the time, that being to gain the most power or to line their own pockets, oftentimes the two overlapped. In fact, it was very similar to the mob, and how it worked. Though even the mob, even some of the worst who worked under her, they were puppies compared to some of the schemes nobles cooked up. No, she felt no guilt at all for robbing this man blind.
  145.
  146. "Miss Scarlet Benedict, thank you very much. Hm..."
  147.
  148. Erika would examine the guard. He looked bored, tired. He certainly didn't want to be here, and it was obvious to anyone who cared to look. This, this was something she could use. Though, it would almost certainly ruin his life. Not that she really cared.
  149.
  150. "My, the disrespect!"
  151.
  152. Erika would shout out, making sure to grab as much attention as she could.
  153.
  154. "You're half asleep on the job! I surely hope our host didn't truly hire such a lazy and callous guard. With how it looks, brigands could be upon us in an hour!"
  155.
  156. Turning to the nearest noble, she would begin speaking to them. They seemed to be adorned with jewelry, and even had two of their own guards. Though their guards looked far more alert.
  157.
  158. "Sirs, Madams, if your guards looked even half as disinterested as theres, would you have hired them? I know I wouldn't. But even so, your's seem to be worth at least twice as much as these ones. For that I applaud you, but my, were it not for people like you thinking ahead, I simply could not believe that our host would leave our safety in the hands of a layabout like this."
  159.
  160. Well, she had certainly started something. She had managed to insult the guards, sure. Though that would certainly bring her attention to her. But the nobles, she had most likely managed to appeal to them. If the guards wanted to keep their jobs, well, they certainly wouldn't be doing much.
  161. (Erika Giachetta Alesci)
  162. [17:10:36] Veridia would have been nabbed by the hand and pulled to her feet. And then, she was told that she would be playing a GAME. A game sounded fun. "A game? What Kinda game?" She would have tilted her head to Charlie as she explained it.
  163.
  164. Something like hide and seek, but there was a goal! To steal a maid's outfit! Where would she find one so she could win? The voice was trying to tell her something, but it sounded like unauditable background noise to her. She was way to focused on how she would win this game. She'd just have to figure it out as she followed Charlie. She followed and followed until Charlie gave some kind of signal. What could it have meant?
  165.
  166. Stop. The voice said.
  167.
  168. "Oh." Veridia would have dipped down into the bushes, waiting to see what would happen down. And the thought of the previous game mentionde slowly fading from mind.
  169.
  170. Charlie said something about waiting. That didn't sound like much fun. But maybe that was something she had to do to win this game. That was how Charlie explained it now, as some kinda race... Waiting for Erica to do something weird. She just had to wait.
  171.
  172. Wait like no one else has before. The voice commented.
  173. (Veridia Alesci)
  174. {NARRATION} For a moment the guard was simply taken aback. He wasn't expecting one of these ponces to actually have any spirit behind them. He stood to attention and muttered a few "Yes ma'am's" Completely neglecting to actually check her on the list at all. She would be on there though, Matthew had made sure of that for them. A shame his effort was going to waste. The other nobles began to nod their heads approvingly, they loved being praised and they loved others being put down even more. They accepted her into their fold without much hesitations, though one of them, an older gentleman with a large belly, a strange sight in these times of famine, and a cracking moustache began to speak to her in a loud, booming voice. He placed his arm around her and lead her inside. "My, so you're old Billy's girl eh? He's never mentioned a girl, Knowing him he only cares about what his sons are up to. I didn't think he'd send anyone to something like this though, he was never a big fan of our host. Though with the way you handled that guard I can see why he'd want to send you. Cracking good show, girl." He gave a chuckle and continued to guide her inside, not letting her go that easily. -------------------------------------- The commotion was enough to turn the guards away form their posts for just a moment, ten seconds at most but for these two Magi that would be more than enough to cross the grounds, hopefully unseen. (You two roll a d6 for me if you're making a break for it.)
  175. [17:21:42] Veridia saw her opening to making a break for it as guards moved away from their positions. Before she did, she looked over to Erika. She'd call what she was doing weird enough. It wasn't something she would do herself, didn't look all that fun. Especially with that man grabbing on her.
  176.
  177. She would have just shook her head and started runnning for the cellar, full speed. She really wanted to win, and she was even using her magic to make it as fast she could.
  178.
  179. Once she made it over, she quickly hid behind a barrel. Still thinking of the game as hide and seek of some kind. This was alittle fun, not as fun as other things she could have been doing. But still pretty alright. There was also the fact that she'd never played multiple games at once before. So that was really the only thing that was keeping it interesting for her. And left her to wonder if another game would be added to the mix.
  180. (Veridia Alesci)
  181. [17:27:40] Well, that worked a bit better then she thought it would have. And was quite a bit glad about it. The guard himself didn't even bother checking the list. Perhaps she should do things like this more often? She certainly seemed to be good at it. And, it seemed she had won the approval of the other nobles around. Useful!
  182.
  183. It was at that moment however, she would find that a much larger, older person had put his arm around her and decided to lead her inside. She would allow it, but only for a moment, before she peeled his arm off of her, and addressed him.
  184.
  185. "Yes, that is my father. I would think by the fact that you realized that, you would know not to touch a lady without her permisson. Shameful really, but..."
  186.
  187. She would look out to the party, before turning back. She had a sly smile on her face. In truth, she saw just how much people liked to show off their riches. Almost all of them were draped in fine metals and jewels. Though, the old man could easily misconstrue the smile. Which she would take advantage of.
  188.
  189. "I would very much like to become more acquainted at a later date, but for now, I have to leave a good impression on the others, for my father you see. I simply can't spend too much time with one person, now can I? Well surely, you do understand."
  190.
  191. She would, respectfully, give the man time to respond, though more then likely, as soon as he did, he would simply bid him farewell to mix in with the rest of the crowd, looking for something to swipe, or perhaps waiting for another distraction.
  192. (Erika Giachetta Alesci)
  193. [17:28:32] So far so good, Erika was distracting the whole mansion with her hissy fit, to the point where it'd be a relatively safe B-line for the two to do. However it seemed Veridia was going to take this game very seriously by rushing in while avoiding the sights of any potential onlooker with immense skill. It was a good thing Charlie knew how to manipulate that kid.
  194.
  195. "Good job, Erika ... Keep at it."
  196.
  197. She whispered through her earring as she was in the middle of spriting toward the barrels. Her voice would be weak enough to go undetected. Eventually they'd reach the cellar with the maid pushing a barrel inside. A mere civilian, not magi. Fairly easy to handle and get around of. Though a distraction wouldn't hurt.
  198.
  199. With a slight manifestation of her occult magc, Charlie would manifest a rope from her position behind a barrel and have it slither toward the trolley pushed by the maid. With a simple push, the half-setient rope would make the barrel fall before instantly vanishing, serving as a distraction for the maid as the two could rune to the stairs leading to the insides of the mansion.
  200.
  201. Charlie gestured at Veridia to move forward.
  202. (Charlie Avaline)
  203. [17:29:23] The Narrator: (Narrating for Erika, you two carry on
  204. {NARRATION} The large man seemed unabashed by Erika's words. "Oh when you get to my age all the ladies look like they deserve a good pinch." He gave her a cheeky smile before pinching her on the backside. Before She could reply he laughed and strolled off, leaving Erika alone in the hallway. It was quite large and filled with a few trinkets lining the walls and tables here and there, nothing too extravagant but worth a good number of crowns. However, your dress doesn't have much space to hide anything large and your bag is very small, only able to hold a few small trinkets at a time. The hallway stretches onto a foyer sort of area and from there you can see the inside of the vault. There are indeed ten cases glittering in the bright light. Eight of them contain works of art, vases, paintings, poetry. Things that would fetch a high price. Two of the cases contained jewellery, a ring in one and an amulet in another. The amulet seemed to glow softly while the ring seemed to be in quite poor condition. Guards patrolled the area but took little notice of you, after all you are an esteemed guest. (Feel free to try and pocket some things or have a closer look at the vault and its security.)
  205. [17:37:55] Amazing. Veridia watched Charlie's show in magic closely. The pink haired girl has some kind of plan. Veridia just couldn't make sense of what she was doing. But after some time past, she came to see what Charlie was doing. She couldn't have done anything like that with her magic. Atleast, as far she knew, she couldn't.
  206.
  207. Her magic was more for the use of tricks and combat purposes. But she never seen magic used as a distraction. Regardless, she couldn't dwell on the thought forever, she still had things to do after all. Charlie did point to the stairs. Which, on her one, she came to the guess that she was suppose to go up the stairs. "Ohh...." She said low and unheard. She could be smart sometimes.
  208.
  209. She would have moved away from the barrel she was beind and moved foward, as told.
  210. (Veridia Alesci)
  211. [17:44:44] The distraction was efficient and now they could move forward toward the stairs. Like two weak breezes, the maid wouldn't even notice a shadow run by as she'd be occupied lifting the heavy barrel back onto her contraption. So far, no issues were noticeable and now the two awaited behind the door leading to the actual mansion. Charlie would slowly open it, trying to get a peek, but evidently, it wouldn't be enough for the budding scholar.
  212.
  213. Before she'd proceed, however, she'd pull out a cookie out of a set of cookies she had in her small pouch. Veridia won the race and it was paramount to keep the nutjob of the gang happy and motivated. Charlie would just smile at her before advancing.
  214.
  215. Using her same occulting snake-thing, she'd draw a rune that, in the end, resembled an eye of sorts. It would then slither under the door and serve as an improvised camera for the Avaline as she'd see through it like a submarine's telescope.
  216.
  217. "Okay ... We're close to getting the maid outfits."
  218.
  219. Charlie warned Veridia with a whisper, as their game was about to meet one of its goals.
  220.
  221. "We still don't let anyone see us."
  222. (Charlie Avaline)
  223. {NARRATION} ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On the other side of the door lies the kitchen, the bustle can be heard from here and through the eye you can see many chefs and servants milling around with plates and trays. In the corner you spot Matthew, your informant, shouting orders around. Looks like he has quite the important job around here. His eyes dart towards the door and he sees the eye apparition. He turns back to the chefs and barks more orders, eventually the place thins out and everyone seems to be milling out of the main doorway. Matthew walks past the door and mutters two words "Ten minutes". As he walks down a hallway he opens a door and leaves it open, blocking the sight line down most of the hall, giving you free access to the kitchens and the two maid outfits that seem to be half hidden by one of the washing up stations.
  224. [17:55:50] Well, it seemed getting away from him wasn't neccessary. Even if it was uncomfortable... Regardless, she was down a rather large hallway, holding a number of trinkets and baubles. Further down the hallway, she had sight of one of the vaults, which held 10 cases. The other things in it seemed interesting, they certainly looked valuable. But, moreso, the amuet and ring were far more interesting. The amulet glowing and new, the ring old and worn. If they were magic, they would fetch a far higher price then anything else there. If the ring wasn't, more then likely it held some sort of sentimental value. Something she could use to blackmail their host.
  225.
  226. However, before going for it, she would take a good look at the guards. There didn't seem to be all that many, and they didn't seem to pay all that much attention to her. More then likely because of her little show. In truth, it would have been incredibly easy for her to kill them, take the stuff. But, she did remember that their informant mentioned the cases were rigged with alarms. If she wanted into those cases without alerting the rest of the party, she would most likely need at least one of the guards.
  227.
  228. Walking over to the nearest one, she would make sure that she tripped in a decidedly natural way. Losing her balance, she would land on both of her knees, right in front of the guard. Furthermore, her bag would drop to the ground just a few feet in front of her. From that point, what she did would depend on the guard's actions.
  229. (Erika Giachetta Alesci)
  230. {NARRATION} The guard stares at you dumbfoundedly for a moment before stooping down and offering you a hand, he was completely ignoring your bag and instead was focused on helping you up with a gentle smile and a "There we go." He didn't want to lose face with his boss and sometimes these nobles were known to tip guards they were favourable of or even outright hire them with a better salary. The boy had high hopes.
  231. [18:00:57] She'd gotten the reward she almost forgotten about. A cookie. She'd smiled as she recieved it and quickly ate it. But now she had to keep going. She'd open the door and peaked inside, with intent of not getting caught. What she saw was what would have gotten hr caught. A whole bunch of people that looked like cooks and people like that, and even that guy from befor. He was yelling at everybody.
  232.
  233. That didn't seem like much fun. She'd watch for abit longr before the man managed to get everyone out of the kitchen. And came by and said ten minutes. She wasn't sure what what he meant by that, but Charlie probably did. Best Hurry Up... The voice said.
  234.
  235. Veridia would have entered the kitchen and walked towards the maid dresses. She'd picked one up and looked at it for a moment.
  236.
  237. "These don't look very comfortable..."
  238.
  239. She would have looked back to Charlie, "These are not the dresses we're looking for..." There was a joke there, for something. "Right...?" She was hoping for a good answer.
  240. (Veridia Alesci)
  241. [18:02:40] Veridia Alesci: (I got so distracted... I should gave a heads up that I was afk...)
  242. [18:08:38] Her tentacular medium had caught a glimpse of their informant, and he seemed to have done the same. Charlie blinked, though it seemed the rest of the staff was no where near as aware as that man. In any case, she'd cancel out the magic and wait for the staff to be clear as she could hear from the other side of the door. And then, the ten minute comment had been said. She know what they had to do.
  243.
  244. Veridia would be quick to take the initiative once the door was set open, and Charlie would follow in tow, making sure nothing abnormal was occuring as they transitioned.
  245.
  246. Once reaching the maid outfits, Charlie would chuckle upon noticing them. Clearly, Tanner would have loved to be here just to see her in such a costume. Though it seemed Veridia didn't seem as amused as Charlie toward the prospect of having to wear such a thing.
  247.
  248. "Yep, they are sweetie ... But don't worry, they allow us to cheat and be seen without punishment! Makes the game a lot more fun and silly!"
  249.
  250. She commented before swiftly setting herself up with the costume. Her excess clothes she couldn't just fit under would be set in a nearby bag she'd carry with her. If anyone were to ask, it had to be carried for a guest to a specific closet room.
  251. (Charlie Avaline)
  252. {NARRATION} Now that you were dressed up properly you can make your way through the halls to meet back up with Erika. You can either go through the door all the staff went through or the back way that Matthew seemed to head through. Your choice on the matter. You can also check the kitchen for anything valuable. Some caviar perhaps? Some expensive wines? Whatever takes your fancy.
  253. [18:12:54] Erika Giachetta Alesci: (I forget, if occult magic can be used to influence people? If not I still have something in mind. And I don't mean control, I do indeed mean subtle influence)
  254. [18:12:54] The Narrator: (It only affects the user iirc.
  255. [18:12:54] The Narrator: (The mental effects
  256. [18:12:54] Erika Giachetta Alesci: (Ah, ok.)
  257. [18:18:01] Well, she had gotten the attention of at least one guard. Quite easily, at that, as he would bend over to help her up. Though, he would pay no mind to her bag. That was fine with her though, she had something else in mind. Something far more devious.
  258.
  259. As he reached down to help her up, she would pull a bit harder then he was expecting, bending him down, and planting his nose almost squarely on top of one of the more expensive items lining the hallway. She would hold him there for a second, letting him get an eyefull, before picking herself up. If he looked though, she would look quite horrified. Though this was an act.
  260.
  261. "Oh my! I'm sorry, I suppose I simply don't know my own strength. O-oh, let me help you up now."
  262.
  263. Erika would grab hold, and bring him up from the table. They were both facing the table, and no doubt, his attention was squarely on the valuable items before him,
  264.
  265. "My. They certainly look nice, don't they. But uh, more then that, what is your name. And uh, how much do they pay you around here?"
  266. (Erika Giachetta Alesci)
  267. {NARRATION} The guard was rather dumbstruck. They didn't pay him enough for all this thinking. He was there to fallow orders and stand in one spot for long periods of time. "Er... My name's Shaun, miss." He was very uncomfortable here. "And they pay me well enough. Enough to keep me mam happy at least. It's a good job here miss." He said, trying to dislodge any funny ideas you were having. "I wouldn't want to lose it."
  268. [18:20:35] Not the answer Veridia wanted. Even close. But it seemed like this that it was a cheat of some king, thinking of how Charlie explained it. So the cheat she would take. She was quick to change into the dress. It wasn't AS uncomfortable as sh guessed it would have been. But either way, it was still wasn't her style.
  269.
  270. Then ther was the fact that she didn't put it on properly. But surely no one would have notice. Big Wigs didn't pay much attention to the maids did they? Probably not.
  271.
  272. She would hav looked towards Charlie dressed in a maid outfit as well. Still not a fan of the outfit, are you...? The voice observed from th thoughts in her head. "No... Not at all... But it's a cheat." Veridia would have shrugged, simply looking like she was talking to herself at Charlie's perspective. She'd pulled on the outfit a few times hoping that would fix it little.
  273.
  274. No...
  275.
  276. A sigh would have left her and she would have just went over to the side of Charlie, to follow after her. Leaving the descision of which path they took up to her.
  277. (Veridia Alesci)
  278. [18:29:07] Hmm, well this would be a bit more difficult. But, that just made it all the more fun. Looking over at the guard, shaun, she would let out a small chuckle. The bag would still be on the ground. And, she would allow it to stay there. If he noticed, that was great and only helped her more, but for now this would work as well.
  279.
  280. She would move herself in a bit closer to him. Still looking at the table, she would respond, making sure to sound as disappointed as one should with such a response.
  281.
  282. "Oh... Well that's too bad. You see, Shaun, my name is Scarlett. Scarlett Benedict. No doubt you have heard of my father. But, I guess if you don't want to lose the job, that means you wouldn't be willing to work for me, now would you?"
  283.
  284. At this point, she would set her hand on his shoulder, and turn him to face her. Her other hand would be back behind her, though, certainly not in a threatening way. But in such a way as to promote a regal aura around her.
  285.
  286. "I mean, if I could somehow pry you away from all this, technically you would be working for my father. But, surely you know that he pays very well. And... Considering, I was thinking that you would work for me personally, I too pay very well."
  287.
  288.
  289. (Erika Giachetta Alesci)
  290. [18:32:32] Now fully equipped to pursue their thieving endeavors, Charlie scrutinized the area. There were multiple ways to engage this, and considering this disguise, none were of a huge risk. Plus the vault would be in this very floor, so they didn't really lose anything by taking a passage over an other. She'd notice the quality foods scattered in the area, some selling for a pretty penny, but this wasn't going to distract her from the bigger picture, they had ten minutes and the goal was the cash.
  291.
  292. However Veridia would talk to herself again. While not surprising to Charlie at this point, it'd bring her attention to the Alesci's attire. A mess indeed. The Avaline would be quick to straighten it up to be at least presentable and the flaws barely noticeable.
  293.
  294. Now a decision had to be made and they were slacking. To go where the chefs were going would likely be at some dining hall, one probably devoid of too much attendee activity given the speech were to happen soon. They could also follow their contact, but considering how ominous their last exchange was, it seemed like following wasn't exactly the smartest thing.
  295.
  296. Follow the staff and run a risk of being spotted as an outside. Follow Mathew and risk walking into something he wouldn't want us to see. Or join Erika. Finally, she'd choose.
  297.
  298. "We're in, Erika."
  299.
  300. She'd whipser in her earpiece.
  301.
  302. "Veridia, we're going to follow our informant. We need to find the vault ... Don't get to close to the workers ..."
  303.
  304. Whisper, whipser. They're follow Mathew in the end, avoiding as much contact as possible with the others would be the smartest thing for now.
  305. (Charlie Avaline)
  306. [18:33:23] The Narrator: (Narrating for both now
  307. {NARRATION} Shaun started to sweat heavily. "uhh, no thanks miss. I've got a speech to head to right away miss so I can't stay miss." He tried to peel himself away from you. He wasn't even meant to be at the speech, he was meant to guard the corridor during it but he really wanted to get away from you. So much so he was willing to leave his post. He sped walk away as quickly as he could. ----------------- You two began to stalk down the hallway, closing the door Matthew left open, it led to nothing but a broom closet anyway. Around the corner you would go until you can out into the same room Erika was in, the one with the vault. There was only one guard on duty now and he was eyeing Erika nervously. From another room, Matthew sauntered out. (Narration for all of you now) Matthew walks up to the guard and dismisses him, he seemed all too pleased to run off. "Right, we've got about ten minutes to get this all sorted. One of you start cracking the cases, one of you stay on watch and the other one needs to head back to the cellar and grab the trolley and an empty barrel. We're sneaking everything out that way." "I'll go and keep the Baron busy and you lot need to watch out for patrols. There wont be many but it is possible someone can come in here while you are very busy." (Start working on cracking the runes and removing the loot. Each case will be a /rnd 1 20. The person carting the loot will also do a 1 20. The lookout will roll a d6 and their score will be added onto the one carrying off everything.Do one roll for each case when you get to it and the pair of rolls for each delivery. Feel free to sort the roles out yourself.)
  308. [18:54:43] As they would have reached an uninteresting dead end, they eventually be able to eye Erika from afar. Good at least they didn't have to risk anything by engaging with employees. Eventually Mathew would step in and dismiss the guard for them to operate adequately. The vault was filled with ten cases, some of which with more interesting jewels than the others.
  309.
  310. "Okay, now that this bullshit is sorted ... I'll handle the runes. Veridia knows where the trolley is but ... A maid is there and will recognize her ... Veridia! You'll have to knock that maid out with your fun and keep doing her job! Play pretend! A bit boring but ... We can make out epic escape!"
  311.
  312. She challenged Veridia, basically telling her to knock out the maid and have 'fun' with whatever issue she'd encounter. Now, it was obvious what Erika's job would be, the one she had done for a while now. Look out and probably serve as a distraction. A simple nod was given at the more mature woman, words did not need to be spoken.
  313.
  314. Meanwhile, Charlie would start engaging with the first case. Her runewriting skills would come heavily into play here. She'd analyse the locking runes and conditonal ones that would sound an alarm. Not too difficult to comprehend, but meticulous work would be needed. She'd start by drawing a rune over it, one ready to seal away all the mana stored in it while she'd attempt to force it with her own spiritual force.
  315. (Charlie Avaline)
  316. {NARRATION} There was no indication that you were successful in undoing the rune, it was still there and seemed to be running but your rune was running just as well, the only way to really know for sure would be to life the glass up, it seemed to be unlocked now at least for all that was worth to you. You had to have faith in your own abilities. There was also another option, to open all the cases before starting to move anything. What if a guard came past and noticed one of them was missing? If they were all in their cases then you could have some deniability. However, if you end up sounding the alarm you probably wont be able to carry them all in one trip. It was your trust in your own skill here.
  317. [19:16:03] After meeting a dead end, this all was started to to become uninteresting. But soon, Erica came into their sights. She wasn't sure how this helped with the game, but Charlie made her way over. So Veridia did as well. But than the contact guy showed up and started talking about time and vaults or something. She wasn't paying too much attention.
  318.
  319. Infact, she only came back to her sense when her name was called. Something about knowing where a trolley was? She could guess right of what that was. That thing back at the cellar, where that other maid was. She had to go back and knock them out. Then go to pretend to do the maid's job. Little problem, Veridia didn't have a good meaning of the phrase so anything could have happened. She might have even ended up killing a few people. For the Heist, they better hope that she didn't.
  320.
  321. She would have nodded to Charlie before making her way back towards the cellar. And look towards the trolley and the maid. And a smile would have crawled onto Veridia's face. This would be little real fun she would have had since she got here. Have fun. The voice said.
  322.
  323. Veridia walked over to the maid and grabbed her by the hair. And and pulled her onto the ground. Before the maid could scream for any type of help, Veridia would have covered the maid's mouth. "Shh... You get caught... And that'll ruin the game..." Veridia would have slowly applied a withering effect to the maid's head, and pressed her head against the ground hard. Essentially, she was on her way to cracking the maid's skull.
  324.
  325. Veridia kept it up until the maid passed out from shock. Or maybe she died. Verida couldn't tell. She would have just given a low giggle as she gotten up from the body. "That was fun..." Moving the body out of sight... so no one would point her out and ruin the game, she proceeded to walked over to the trolley to do what else was told of her. She was suppose to play pretend.
  326.
  327. It was boring compared to what she just did, but she managed anyway. Though pretend wasn't something she was very good at.
  328. (Veridia Alesci)
  329. [19:26:17] Erika would think about the best way to get rid of the guard. And considering that they were alone now, that way seemed to be simply killing him. Though, before she could start to manifest her mournegale magic, the informant and the two others would appear, sending him off. Disappointing, but she supposed it was easier in the end. Unless of course he happened to get suspicious. Considering that, even if they were staff, the informant had just come in with two, probably unfamiliar maids, and left a guest, all alone with the safe.
  330.
  331. Ah well. A quick nod from Charlie would tell her her job. Keep watch. And really, that was the best she could do. She wasn't much of a rune writer, and none of the guards seemed to have had any keys, so it was up to her.
  332.
  333. Positioning herself just out of sight, but close enough that she could watch the hallway, she would ensure that if any one walked in, they would know.
  334. (Erika Giachetta Alesci)
  335. [19:34:49] According to her runewriting expertise, this should work. A quick brode on the glass shielding the case's contents would reveal that it had been unlocked and no alarm was to be heard. However, that thoery was to be tested on the actual object being held. If she were to understand it correctly, the rune was connected to the entire container, and would likely ring if the artifact were to be stolen. Consdering her seal did not destroy or siphon all the mana from the other, it was hard to tell if it was actually disabled.
  336.
  337. A minute of thought was dedicated, and obviously with the ultimatum, Charlie wouldn't have much time for that. The other two could only do so much until people would get suspicious after all.
  338.
  339. After a good moment of thinking, perhaps testing how these locking mechanisms worked and maybe create a plan B. As a maid it was only natural for her to clean up such beautiful artifacts after all. As such, she'd attempt to open the other other two right next to the one she had just tampered with. Obviously they'd be locked, as such a little more runewriting would be done to tamper with them.
  340.
  341. "Anything weird going on yet?"
  342.
  343. She asked Erika as she finished the runes for the other two. There'd she test how the locking mechanisms worked and could maybe set up a ploy in case they got caught.
  344. (Charlie Avaline)
  345. [19:40:48] Erika would look down the hallway. Right now, she didn't see anything, or at least, nothing too relevant. A group of guests would pass by, on the other end of the hallway. For a moment, she would get apprehensive as two broke off, though for now they were ok. As, the two would sneak off the opposite way.
  346.
  347. "No, nothing yet. Though the party seems to be coming this way. It might be the speech. We probably want to hurry though."
  348.
  349. As soon as another group of guests past, she would remember something. Walking out for a moment, Erika would pick up the bag she had dropped, and start filling it with some of the things off the table. Just a small bit of things. That way, she made sure she had room to carry some of the smaller things from the cases, as they were probably far more expensive.
  350. (Erika Giachetta Alesci)
  351. [19:41:39] Veridia had been playing around with the Trolley for a bit. Her fun meter had long sinse depleted since the maid. And she was trying to make some fun out of something she couldn't. Alittle frustating and sh was wishing that she had something to do other than play pretend.
  352.
  353. She was just wondering why charlie didn't give her more to do.
  354.
  355. Get a Barrel. The voice said. She would have tilted her head towards nothing. She was alittle confused at the strange order the voice given her. "Why?" You weren't listen... I was... Just do it... The pink haired one will be happy with you if you do... The voice replied. She was still alittle confused. Did the voice hear something she didn't? Regardless, she didn't have anything else to do.
  356.
  357. Moving towards a Barrel, she would have heaved it up and moved over to the trolley once more. She set the barrel down onto it. But now she needed to know what to do next. "What now...?" Bring the Barrel to them. The voice replied.
  358.
  359. She pushed the trolley back towards where Charlie was with some effort of actually pushing it around. This was pretty boring, but she hoped the voice would be right. That Charlie would be happy that she was bringing barrels.
  360. (Veridia Alesci)
  361. {NARRATION} Two more cases were unlocked without any apparent issue and now the barrel had returned in case you wanted to start loading things up. The barrel can carry four items a trip and each trip will require a roll. So filling it to maximum capacity might be for the best.
  362. [19:47:37] With Erika's signal, there was a definite need to hurry. So far, each of her runes had unlocked the casings, exposing all three of her loots so fat. Now it was time to accelerate. There were still seven more, but even with varying types of runes for each, Charlie started to notice a pattern. While not something she could exploit with certainty, she could definitely work much faster on it. The remaining non-jewels would be swiftly handled as Veridia would arrive just on time.
  363.
  364. "Perfect Veridia ... Just wait a set, we ain't quite ready yet."
  365.
  366. She warned, before executing everyone of her runes, attempting to block out every single one barring the jewels. They needed to make these trolley visits worth it, as such, these were the ones to terminate first.
  367.
  368. "Alright ... Be ready to dash if this ever goes wrong."
  369.
  370. Her sound magic was ready to perform some damage control. but even so, Charlie would still opt for the emergency plan. Every single one would be opened if successful, duster in proximity to maintain her maid veil if things went sour.
  371. (Charlie Avaline)
  372. {NARRATION} Four more cases opened up with ease. However, the fifth one seemed to give you some trouble and after a bit of messing around, you managed to get it open, but something triggered within it. It wasn't completely sealed. You managed to keep the alarm off but something else had happened to you. You could feel a spell enter you and begin to mess around with the inside of your head. (Charlie has been give the Curse of Blandness. For the next full ic year you will be colour blind and you have lost your sense of taste and smell. Everything is in greyscale for you.) The case is still unlocked however, leaving just the two at the back still locked, containing the non matching sword hilt and broken blade. The cases to both the ring and the amulet have been opened and are free for anyone to grab. (If two people go for the same one, roll for it.) Other than that the other pieces of art can be loaded into the barrel and can start to be moved outside. Everything was still calm and no one from the manor suspected a thing.
  373. [20:06:24] Erika would look over to see the cases unlocked. For the most part, most of it could be thrown into the barrel. But the ring and amulet seemed to be open too. That was interesting. Certainly. The ring, old and cracked... It wouldn't be in the case without there being something too it. Back to the door she would go, to keep an eye out. Though, the others would quickly notice the ring being carried along by her wind magic.
  374.
  375. Just to make certain it was safe, and not cursed or something like that, Erika would take a moment to examine it, before deciding whether or not to pick it up off the wind that was carrying it around. If it wasn't, she would take it, and possibly even slip it on, though if it was, straight into the bag it would go. With, an explanation offered in case anyone commented on that.
  376.
  377. "I'll uh, carry this. Save some room in the barrel. If we need to, we can sort out what is and isn't kept later."
  378. (Erika Giachetta Alesci)
  379. [20:19:12] Veridia would have stared at all of the stuff from the cases. She wasn't too interested in taking any of it really. Not like Erica. None of it looked very fun to her. So she would have just started putting all that she could fit into the barrel. One thing at a time. After she was finish, she'd looked at the two for a moment. Alittle confused on what to do next. So she would seek an answer.
  380.
  381. Since the voice in her head would have been providing none to her at the moment. Maybe it wanted her to figure out on her own. But little did it know, she wouldn't be figuring out anything on her own. She wasn't smart enough to do that. Not now, and proably not ever.
  382.
  383. She'd looked to charlie in specific. "What do I do with the barrel now...?"
  384. (Veridia Alesci)
  385. [20:26:52] So far the runes were going great, until ... That last one got to her. At first, it just didn't budge, and the alarm was eventually choked off. But, not everything could be contained from the seal. Something had struck Charlie and she could definitely feel it in her. The pink haired girl in the maid costume would start to cough for a few seconds before tumbling down on her behind.
  386.
  387. Her sight, it was tampered with. She couldn't see color. No worse, she couldn't smell. Could she? She could breathe through her nose, but all she'd feel would be the foul grazing of cold air against her tender nostrils, as if she were at the peak of some frozen mountain.
  388.
  389. This would spread down to her mouth having no distinct tast going through it as well. The taste of her own saliva was gone, and it felt so strange. Enough so to panic for a moment. She hyperventilated for a good minute, making a scene among her colleagues.
  390.
  391. Charlie would quickly understand her issue, however, as it'd be akin to Ringo's problem. She was cursed, and how bad it is would have to be evaluated later. So far her abilities were unaffected and she didn't feel physically altered. As such, there was no reason for her to not stand up and finisht the job. May as well make this unfortunate event worth it.
  392.
  393. She'd attempt to finish the other two runes, going over the same process as the others, however, she wouldn't open them.
  394.
  395. "Erika, open them please. I can't risk a second exposure."
  396.
  397. She requested, her tone appearing slightly weak as adapting to this new condition wasn't exactly the most extravagant of things.
  398.
  399. "Veridia, transport this barrel outside with the others and take some others inside so the guards don't catch you not playing pretend, okay? Then come back here."
  400.
  401. She ordered.
  402. (Charlie Avaline)
  403. [20:49:04] A strange feeling of confusion came over Veridia as she watched the sence Charlie made. She was panicing about something, but Veridia wasn't very sure about what. Maybe Charlie was going crazy to. Then they would both be crazy. And oh how fun that sounded. But the more she thought about, the more unlikely she started to guess that would happen. Though, she would have only imagined how nice it would have beem
  404.
  405. And with Charlie coming down and started giving orders again, she found it very unlikely at this point. She would have rubbed her heads at the orders she was given. Only for a moment. Thinking about it. Then she would have moved back towards the trolley and started pushing it outside.
  406.
  407. It took somewhat more effort since the barrel was fool, but of course anything was doable.
  408.
  409. After she'd made it outside, she'd place the heaved the barrel onto the ground. What else was she suppose to do. Somthing about guards. She'd rubbed her head for a moment trying to remember. You forgot to bring other barrels... The voice said. "Oh... Right..." She'd move the trolley towards where some other barrels were. She got them onto the trolley and brought them to where she brought the first one.
  410.
  411. But now she had another issue. She wouldn't remember which barrel had the stuff. Use your magic... The voice suggested. She'd touch the barrel and provided it with a withering the effect. The spot of the wood gained a faded appearence.
  412.
  413. Now she made her way back towards Charlie, but not before getting another barrel.
  414. (Veridia Alesci)
  415. [21:02:43] Erika would look back out the door, and notice a guard was now standing in the hallway. And Veridia was going to be back any minute! Erika would look over, and hold out a hand to pause Charlie, before speaking quietly into the earring. A warning to Veridia. Of course, she would use the same speech Charlie had been using to speak to Veridia.
  416.
  417. "Veridia. There's a guard coming your way. Make sure he doesn't see you not pretending, alright?"
  418.
  419. With that done, Erika would quietly sneak over to the cases charlie had asked her to open. Carefully, she would lift them up. So far, nothing had seemed to happen to her, and no alarms had gone off. So, it seemed Charlie really did know her stuff. Carefully, with her wind magic, she would lift the two pieces off the case, and deposit them in her bag, most likely with that, it would be filled entirely to capacity. And possibly past it, though a bit of shoving, and placing her coat over her bag if it poked out, would almost certainly hide it.
  420.
  421. With that done, she would look back again, and wait to see if the guard would leave.
  422. (Erika Giachetta Alesci)
  423. [21:16:22] Veridia would have heard someone else in her head. Another voice. It was Erica's voice. It was telling her that a guard was coming her way. "What? I didn't know you were in my head. Get out of my head if you don't mind... " Besides that, she would have avoided the guard she was warned about and made her way back towards Charlie. When she made it, she'd grabbed the last two things and looked at Charlie for a moment.
  424.
  425. Hurry up. The voice ordered. Veridia would have put her hands back onto the and made her way back outside to where the other barrels were in no time at all. She was using her magic this time around to speed up her progress.
  426.
  427. Once she was outside, she'd pulled the barrel off the trolley and put it by the others. Your done now. The voice said. "I am?" And with nothing to do, she would have hopped onto a barrel and sat down. Waiting for the other two at this point.
  428.
  429. She'd hummed to herself as she waited.
  430. (Veridia Alesci)
  431. [21:31:44] Well, that was that. The barrels were filled, the treasures were taken. There was proably quite a few valuable things they could swipe off the nobles, but for now that was forgotten. They had far more important things to do. Namely, getting these treasures out. Which, would be an easy enough task to do.
  432.
  433. Taking her bag, she would head out first. Since, if she was seen with two maids, especially one carrying a barrel, things would certainly seem suspicious. Quickly making her way out, she would exit rather quickly, making sure to bring as little attention to herself as possible. No doubt, she would get quite a ways away. Though, from that point, she would secret herself away, and change back into her normal clothes. At this distance, she was far enough away that there would be no patrols.
  434.
  435. Her final part, however, would be taking a look at Charlie and Veridia's exit. And, for the most part the guards that were there were either drunk or asleep. Speaking into her earring, she would inform Charlie of this, before secreting herself away again. For, she had other plans in mind.
  436.
  437. "The exits mostly clear. The guards are drunk, so it's unlikely they would even remember you if you got caught. Now uh, I'll meet with you two later. Probably tomorrow. So uh, good luck"
  438. (Erika Giachetta Alesci)
  439. [21:38:33] It was done. Finally. Charlie wasn't getting used to this new perspective, but she'd quickly mellow out in favor of the mission at hand. It was highly disconcerting, yes, but she could verify this eventually. Now all that remained would be to retrieve that amulet and she'd be on her way.
  440.
  441. Artifact in pocket, it was time to leave. Heading back down to the cellar with the door closed behind her, she'd regroup with Veridia. The barrels were in place, now it was just a question of getting them out of there.
  442.
  443. "We won the game, Veridia! Soon you'll be able to buy all the cookies in Nostvale ..."
  444.
  445. She winked at her maddened friend.
  446. (Charlie Avaline)
  447. {NARRATION} The heist was pulled of with incredible success. No one will ever know who did it and all the blame will be shifted onto the Baron's rival, Lord Benedict. You all got away scot free and now it is time to divvy up the loot. Matthew has asked for one fifth of the loot. Leaving eight of them to split up between you all. Matthew himself has come out with a carriage by the barrels. "You two, load the barrels on and let's get going. We'll divide up the shares once we're good and clean away from here." Each 'portion' of the loot is worth 2.5 million crowns. With Matthew's share gone it leaves 20 million worth of crowns to split between you all. However, The ring, the amulet, the sword hilt and the sword blade can each be taken in return for 2.5 million less crowns. How you divide it all up is up to you, thanks to there being an odd number of you all you can't divide it up cleanly. From the various trinkets you shoved in your bag you managed to earn an extra 200k crowns, Erika. (We can work out all the maths and shares of it oocly now and have it all be done black screen)
