  1. Guide on installing CM3D2 (カスタムメイド3D2; Custom Maid 3D2)
  2.
  3. ============================================================================================
  4.
  5. About the game (you can skip this part):
  6.
  7. q1: What is this game about senpai?
  8. a1: You will purchase some three-dimensional highly customizable maids with different personalities, dress them up, train them to be a good maid, watch them dance, listen to them babbling stupid shit, fuck them tenderly or slap them like slaves, optionally you can watch yourself getting NTRed.
  9.
  10. q2: How is CM3D2 compare to AA2 (Artificial Academy 2)?
  11. a2:
  12. - Personalities -
  13. AA2: 24 female personalities; a handful of dialogues, most end in one sentence; can assign traits that alter behaviors; girls may refuse your approach
  14. CM3D2: 5 female personalities so far(no male); ridiculous amount of dialogues (but mostly untranslated) for each personality, most are in sequences; no trait; maids will always obey
  15. - Customizability -
  16. AA2: 3 heights only; arguably better eyes; way better tits physics; clothed huge tits are handled well
  17. CM3D2: variable height; hip slider; leg sliders; many clothing options; clothed huge tits usually look shit; very large mod scene
  18. - Gameplay -
  19. AA2: School setting; NPCs will interact with other NPCs; sandbox-oriented; progression depends mostly on relationship; many interaction options; free roaming; shenanigans
  20. CM3D2: Mansion setting; maids don't talk to each other; pseudo-management gameplay; achievements; progression depends mostly on stats and skill levels; optional VN-like events (some are you being NTRed); poser; unique NPCs; everything is in your control; grindy; dances; assign jobs and actions with a schedule; marriage
  21. - H-scenes -
  22. AA2: better animations; achievable ahegao; can manually control thrusting speed
  23. CM3D2: more positions (still adding) with great variety; for unknown reasons they cry alot; can cum in most positions; grind to unlock positions for EACH character; 3-to-1 harem; abuse; punishment; Yuri
  24.
  25. q3: Is it resource intensive?
  26. a3: The game is written in Unity and the coders are surprisingly proficient. It supports both 32bit and 64bit. Runs on Win7 and Win8. Reportedly got some issue on Win10 but it runs pretty well on my 2013 $700 Win10 64bit notebook.
  27.
  28. q4: Is it translated? I can only read English.
  29. a4: The UI is translated and the game is completely "playable". However, less than 10% of the dialogues are translated and the translation scene is quite dead now despite its popularity. Since the game relies heavily on the dialogues to build up the maids' personalities, you will miss quite a lot in this regard. Still, you can enjoy the dress up, poser, and h-scenes.
  30.
  31. q5: Expected file size?
  32. a5: The base game is around 10GB. With all DLCs installed it would be >25GB.
  33.
  34. q6: Links?
  35. a6: Read the guide below. This guide includes all the links you need.
  36.
  37. q7: How long is it going to take?
  38. q7: If everything goes smooth, excluding the download time, the installation process should not take you more than 90 minutes.
  39.

  65. ============================================================================================
  66.
  67. ** Please read everything carefully, it's lengthy for a reason **
  68.
  69. Q1: Preparations
  70.
  71. First, We are going to download all the necessary files.
  72. The order in this step does not matter.
  73.
  74. 1. Base game
  75. - find a torrent on sukebei
  76. - you may want to start with one of the following:
  77. - - https://sukebei.nyaa.se/?page=view&tid=1776288 (base game only)
  78. - - https://mega.co.nz/#!9M1EgKjA!PGEr3GejU4ZpRKRzW3B6fCRrhDh60OkQBA40LkBApGA (base game only)
  79. - - http://sukebei.nyaa.se/?page=view&tid=2021693 (base game + DLCs + patch files; some new DLCs and update are missing, also reported that some Yotogi Class DLC files are corrupted)
  80. - - https://sukebei.nyaa.se/?page=view&tid=2160356 (ALL-IN-ONE version, missing just a few DLCs)
  81. - you should at least have "cm3d2_1.iso" and "cm3d2_2.iso" after the download completes
  82. - there are some ALL-IN-ONE torrents that claim to include all patches and DLCs, and require no installations. If you use those torrents then you can skip this guide completely. If later you want to install a new DLC or update you can still refer to the second half of this guide.
  83. - be warned that it is tedious to get all the DLCs installed.
  84.
  85. 2. Update patches
  86. - you need TWO patches, one for "1.00 -> 1.12", another for "1.12 -> (whatever the latest one is)" (1.31 in my case)
  87. - get the patches from https://mega.nz/#F!fpgFAbaS!9uUPXC-TeU7vJgMVh7YS2w (ignore the DLCs for now)
  88. ?? "I can't do mega!" - get them from http://www.kisskiss.tv/cm3d2/update.php instead.
  89. ?? "But x86 or x64?" - I HIGHLY recommend using x86 (32bit) if this is your first time installing, even on a 64bit machine. You can still do x64 later anyway.
  90. !! there MAY be an additional hotfix file (1.31.1 in my case). You need that as well.
  91. - in my case the two update files are "CM3D2 Update to 1.12 [Must have].zip", "CM3D2 Update from 1.12 to 1.31 for x86.zip", and the hotfix file is "cm3d2_up131.1.zip"
  92.
  93. 3. Locale Emulator
  94. - game is programmed in jap so you need a jap environment to run the game, fortunately there are tools to emulate the environment
  95. - Locale Emulator is recommended. Get that shit from https://xupefei.github.io/Locale-Emulator/ (Emulator alternatives: Applocale, NTLEA. They work the same.)
  96. - extract the folder to somewhere safe. You will not be able to move the folder afterward.
  97. - in the folder, run "LEInstaller.exe", click "Install / Upgrade", click "OK" to finish the installation.
  98. - then run "LEGUI.exe", you will see a pop up. "Locale" and "Timezone" should be Japan and Tokyo time by default. Click "Save". Exit.
  99. !! this may trigger anti-virus false alarm but it is safe
  100. !! if you do NOT want to use an emulator, you can manually switch the System Locale/Format to Japan AND the System Timezone to Osaka/Tokyo time. Google it for details. If you do this, from now on you can safely ignore all steps concerning the Emulator and just directly run the .exe.
  101.
  102. 4. Ignore the DLCs
  103. - ignore them for now, we will come back to them in part 3
  104. - why? because there is A SHIT TON of DLC files and they are not crucial to the installation, I would like us to focus on getting the base game running first
  105. - but of course, you can still download the DLC files while doing other steps
  106.
  107. 5. (Optional) HF-Patch
  108. - the HF-Patch gives you UI translation and partial (<10%) dialogue translations along with other stuff like uncensors
  109. - get the patch from http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php/447725-CM3D2-HF-Patch-1-0-131-0?p=3753287
  110. - just a reminder, the translation scene is quite dead now because of the discouraging and increasing amount of dialogues (>75k lines)
  111.
  112. ============================================================================================
  113.
  114. Q2: Installation
  115.
  116. We will now install the game. You should have these ready:
  117. 1. Base game installation files: "cm3d2_1.iso" and "cm3d2_2.iso"
  118. 2. Patch files: "1.00->1.12", "1.12->(latest version)", or Hotfix as well if available
  119. 3. Installed Locale Emulator (ignore this if you've manually adjusted the Locale/Format/Timezone)
  120. 4. (Optional) HF-Patch
  121.
  122. ** I assume that you are using Locale Emulator. Applocale and NTLEA should work as well, albeit differently. **
  123.
  124. 1. Install the base game
  125. a. Mount "cm3d2_1.iso" with DAEMON or whatever you have.
  126. b. IGNORE THE AUTORUN!
  127. c. Find the "Installer.exe" in the mounted .iso file.
  128. d. Right click the "Installer.exe", if you have successfully installed the Locale Emulator, you should see a "Locale Emulator" option here. Select that and click "Run in Japanese (Admin)".
  129. !! Warning: if running as (Admin) fails you the installation, use "Run in Japanese" instead. Otherwise, you should always run as Admin.
  130. e. A pop-up in Japanese will appear.
  131. !! If Japanese text is not displaying properly, either you are not using an emulator to run the .exe or you fucked up the Locale/Format/Timezone setting. Fix it before you proceed.
  132. f. (Optional) Change the install path by clicking "開く" on the top right.
  133. g. Press the moon rune "インストール" (the one above "マニュアル (HTML)" and "終了") to start installing maids.
  134. h. Click some buttons to confirm the installation. The installation should begin now.
  135. i. Half way done, a "ディスク交換" (Change disc) titled pop-up will ask you to mount the "cm3d2_2.iso". Do it. Then press "Retry" in the pop-up.
  136. j. Let the installation finishes. Then unmount the iso file.
  137.
  138. 2. Update the game
  139. a. Open the folder of the patch for 1.00->1.12.
  140. b. Right click the "update.exe" -> "Locale Emulator" -> "Run in Japanese (Admin)"
  141. !! Warning: it might cause an error if you're not running the update.exe as Admin.
  142. c. In the pop-up, press "適用" on the right, then press "開始" on the right.
  143. d. It should finish quickly. Exit.
  144. e. Open the folder of the patch for 1.12->(latest version) (1.31 in my case).
  145. f. Right click the "update.exe" and repeat the same process.
  146. g. (If there's any) Install the Hotfix(s) in the same way as well.
  147. h. Remember this process. This is basically how you will apply every new patches and DLCs.
  148.
  149. 3. Run the game
  150. a. Go to the folder where you installed the game (Default would be "C:\KISS\CM3D2\")
  151. b. Stare at "CM3D2x86.exe" passionately.
  152. c. Right click "CM3D2x86.exe" -> "Locale Emulator" -> "Run in Japanese (Admin)" (Admin or not doesn't seem to matter).
  153. d. Congratulation, you're now running the game!
  154. !! If you see the error message "(0) Yotogi.Category. enum parse error", it almost certainly means the game is not running in a jap environment. The emulator (if you're using one) probably fucks up. You can try other emulators like Applocale or NTLEA. Your last resort is to manually change your System Locale/Format/Timezone (ALL of them) to Japan.
  155. !! If you see the error message "(0) 必要アーカイブがありません。GameData\material.arc", it means you've not installed the updates properly. Go back and install the updates as Admin.
  156. ** Note: You can also run the game in 64bit (if you've updated it) but if you encounter any problem, you should go back to 32bit. As far as I know locale emulators don't work with 64bit exe.
  157.
  158. 4. (Optional) Apply the HF-Patch
  159. a. Please refer to their patch note for the procedure. Read it carefully because a lot of messy stuff are involved.
  160. b. It is better to just ignore some options if you have no idea what they do.
  161. !! Warning: if you are going to install the DLCs as well, install the HF-Patch AFTER you're done with the DLCs.
  162. !! Warning: a new game's update may require a new HF-Patch.
  163.
  164. 5. (Optional) Backup
  165. - Remember, any third party mods and fixes (including HF-Patch) can break the game
  166. - Some invasive mods (mods that replace original game files) might break the game in such a way that you will have to reinstall the whole thing
  167. - If you've done the installation and have space to spare, keep the install files as a backup
  168. - If you're using the ALL-IN-ONE version, it might be a good idea to backup the entire thing first
  169.
  170. ============================================================================================
  171.
  172. Q3: B-b-but the DLCs!!!
  173.
  174. We are going to download and apply the DLCs. DLCs are completely optional. They include:
  175. - cosmetic stuff
  176. - new sex skills (Yotogi Class Skills)
  177. - new stages
  178. - new cuck events
  179. - new personalities
  180. - new dances
  181. - new mechanics (like poser)
  182. - monthly packs or DLC Set that includes a mixture of above
  183. Each month there will be two or three new DLCs. Some DLCs are big enough to be considered "Expansions", i.e. Plus Pack
  184.
  185. 1. You can get all the DLCs from https://mega.nz/#F!fpgFAbaS!9uUPXC-TeU7vJgMVh7YS2w
  186. - [Pre-Order Bonus], [CM3D2 Shop], [CM3D2 Append] etc. are all DLCs
  187. - the DLC files are exclusive, you want to get all contents, you will have to download and install everything individually.
  188. - yes, there are many DLCs, KISS is the biggest Jew in the hgame industry.
  189. - if you really don't want to download everything at first, considered getting the following to start with: [Personality (Onee-chan, Yandere)], [Plus Pack], [Yotogi Class Skills Vol.X]
  190. - sort the items by clicking "Date Created" if you are looking for the latest stuff.
  191. - the link above is constantly updated with new DLCs and patches.
  192.
  193. 2. Apply the DLCs
  194. - the process is completely the same as updating the game, so you should have no trouble.
  195. - the order of applying the DLCs does NOT matter for the most part.
  196. - it can be extremely tedious to get every DLCs installed. In the MEGA folder there is a guide on "How to make an all-in-one installer". I never tried this though.
  197. - if you are doing things correctly, the game will not allow you to apply the same DLCs twice.
  198. !! Warning: if you are using the ALL-IN-ONE version of the game, you might have to manually apply the DLC files yourself.
  199.
  200. 3. The game doesn't run after I have applied a new DLC!!!!
  201. - make sure you have the game updated to the latest version
  202. - make sure your HF-Patch (if you're using one) matches with that latest update of the game
  203.
  204. ============================================================================================
