Leader’s fluff: Aleksander was but a baby when his family settled in Illyria. Born to the tribe chieftain, he and his brother, Vlastimir, didn't always see eye to eye. Vlastimir was always more ambitious than he was and dragged him along into schemes around Illyria, using Aleksander's stature to intimidate the kids into doing what he said. While Vlastimir and Aleksander were both born to their Half Elf Father and Dragon Mother, Vlastimir showed very little signs of any dragon traits while Aleksander's were much more pronounced. This was a problem, as Sorbs were mostly Elves and Humans and would not respond well to someone so different. The tribe chieftain did not care about this and planned to give both of his children equal land as was tradition, but Aleksander's mother knew what would happen and prepared Aleksander through his childhood for what she considered was the right thing to do. At this point in time, it was tradition for certain types of Dragons to make Oaths with their mates that they would be faithful, and when their mates died, they would die soon after. So, when Aleksander's father died, his mother and him went through with and finished their plan. Aleksander's mother weaved the last of her life into a spell that put Aleksander in a sort of stasis so that he might live his life in a later age where she thought he might be more accepted. Aleksander stood in stasis with a few family belongings and valuables within a hidden cave deep within the mountains, under the effects of the spell, until the last drop of Draconic blood was near its end in the Ruler of The Sorbs. In the year 1900, Aleksander awoke. The Obrenovic dynasty would only last a few years later, the spell had worked. Aleksander awoke to a fantastic age, and while he didn't understand much of the world, he knew one thing. Power. Aleksander was still different, but in this new age, he was accepted, especially when he found out that most of the Serbian rulers used Blood of The Dragon as claim to the throne. Aleksander lived for a year wandering around Serbia, absorbing all the information he could, when the royal family approached him. They had heard rumor of a dragon-kin roaming Serbia and after confirming he was real, invited him to their palace. They thought he was a simple hermit like most Dragon-kin and wanted to marry him into the family to reaffirm their status in the eyes of the people. Aleksander spurned their offer, but asked if he could serve in the army and that perhaps he might reconsider after seeing the plight of the people. The family was disappointed, but readily agreed, still thinking he was a dumb dragon they could manipulate. Dragon-Kin, as he found out later, were very few indeed, most other races being jealous of them, and so much knowledge of them was lost except to the oldest and knowledgeable of families and organizations. Dragons were very clever, smarter than most races, and, Aleksander knowing this, planned to rise up in the ranks of the army and become someone the family ''couldn't'' dispense of. Within two years, Aleksander had climbed the ranks to a high ranking officer and was very comfy when the King died without an heir. The Karađorđević family had hired black hands to force a coup and they killed the King and his Wife, but this was not totally their plan. Aleksander had been spreading rumors and whispers about how a Dragon-Kin could safe the country from the disparity and tip the balance in the country's favor and the people had been growing resentful. When the Karađorđević took control, Aleksander made a bold claim that he was the rightful heir to the throne. The royals could not just get rid of him, he had saved the country from ruin with his skill, but when Aleksander then showed his family's belongings that cross examined and proved he was of noble blood, things quickly escalated. The people revolted against the royal family, and on January 1st of 1904, Aleksander was crowned King of Serbia. Within 10 years, Aleksander fought several wars and reformed the military into a modern fighting machine. The overall quality of life in Serbia was improved as well, and now the Serbs look to a bright future, though things don't always turn out how it seems.
Nation’s Fluff: Pretty much the same as modern Serbia, except Serbia is populated mostly by Humans and Elves, with a minority in Desert-Kin and a smaller minority of everything else. The people idolize dragons and those with Dragon's blood in them are highly valued.
