- Hello Matt Jones. What can I do to help you today?
- 3:00 pm
- Matt Jones
- How to have players run a command automatically when they log in? This used to happen but no longer does for some reason
- Emily Starks
- What command are you running?
- Matt Jones
- Message of the Day is what i would like the players to run
- this used to be the case by default, but it won't work anymore
- Emily Starks
- You may need to it up again.
- Matt Jones
- What?
- Emily Starks
- I'm sorry I meant set it up again.
- This guide on changing your MoTD may help you: http://clients.mcpro…ction=displayarticle&id=24

- I don't mean that kind of message of the day. When i had my server at first, players automatically ran a multicraft command when they joined the server. This was called "Message of the day". this command still exists, but players are no longer automatically activating this upon joining the server, and I don't know why.
- In the console after the player joined it would say "PlayerName ran command Message of the Day" and I could set the command up to output text to the player in chat, etc.
- Emily Starks
- That is your message of the day. You may also need to make sure it is still set up in your server commands.
- Matt Jones
- It still exists in my commands. I just don't know why it is not automatically running when players join anymore, it was set up by default when I got my server and I may have done something to change it but I don't know what.
- Emily Starks
- Try removing it from your commands and re-adding it.
- Matt Jones
- But how will multicraft know which command to run when a player joins? just by the name?
- Emily Starks
- Yes.
- Matt Jones
- If you wouldn't mind, I am going to test that really quick. It will only take a moment
- Emily Starks
- Sure thing
- Matt Jones
- I rebooted my server, joined, and the command was not run when I joined. Here is a screenshot of the command if I am doing something incorrectly. http://gyazo.com/d05…57e0973056944c750d0677d49cf749
- The console shows that the command is not being attempted either http://gyazo.com/9af…fc28718866e0171299fad9d3f4d5e3
- Emily Starks
- You aren't doing anything wrong from what I can see.
- I believe that this is one of those issues where you'll have to submit a ticket to General Support. Just explain your issue to them and they will be able to take care of it.
- You can submit a ticket here: https://clients.mcpr…rohosting.com/submitticket.php
- Matt Jones
- Okay I guess, thanks anyway
- Emily Starks
- It's no problem . I'm sorry about this Matt. :(
