  1. Q. What is the "SLG" category?
  2. A. "Solo Linear Glitchless" is a masochistic joke category I made up, it involves playing through the game without doing any sort of skips or glitches. That means no killing teammates to complete the level faster, no jumping off of the roof in No Mercy, no cutscene skips, etc. I like to play this category because I find it fun, it shows a lot of the game, and because I'm bad. I'm going to run SLG until I feel confident to take on regular Any%, considering I haven't played the game in years. I'm also in the process of learning strats for all of the maps, and don't want to run regular Any% until I'm confident about my knowledge.

  4. Q. What's the SLG world record?
  5. A. It's not an "official" category, so I'm not counting my times as a world record, seeing as nobody else runs it but me.
  6.
  7. Q. What is "bunnyhopping?"
  8. A. Bunnyhopping, or bhopping for short, is hitting your jump button, and the instant you hit the ground, you jump again. You can combine these chain jumps along with strafing with the A + D keys and moving your mouse corresponding to the keys you press to gain speed faster than your walking speed.
  9.
  10. Q. So, why don't you "bhop?" It's faster!
  11. A. Left 4 Dead has a maximum command rate that is set low by default, rendering bhopping with the scroll wheel useless, which is how I bhop on all other Source games. My spacebar sticks, as well, so that doesn't help. I'll practice L4D bhopping sometime in the future. As this is a physics glitch, it cannot be used in the SLG category. It's hard to gain speed, anyway, seeing how the sv_airaccelerate is low. (I'm not even sure if there's a command to increase it, even if I could, that would be considered cheating, as I would not be playing with default settings.)
  12.
  13. Q. Why does your shotgun/pistol/etc. look different?
  14. A. I'm using custom models because I think they look cool. When I decide to run regular Any%, I'll remove them.
