  1. Pearl PRs Week 1 - le Nard
  2.
  3.
  4. Soham vs Sky
  5.
  6. Sky: Not Mega evolving Lopunny. Oof. At least this happened week 1 and you got it out of your system; rather have it happen now than in playoffs. Due to your mega lop not putting in work as well as Soham bringing a solid Magmortar set against your team you were behind by quite a bit. After some more scouting Soham didn’t need to make any crazy plays to play out the endgame. The Skarm switch into the Tangela anticipating the Magneton instead of the Magmortar was the nail in the coffin. Make sure to bounce back, and better luck next time, I know you have it in you!
  7.
  8. Soham: Awesome Magmortar set! Tectonic rage enabled you to kill one of Magmortars counters which made it way easier for Magmortar to put in work during that game. Great prep. I see why you sacked off Aegislash that easily; setup Mew could’ve easily become a threat if you didn’t asses it at that moment. The endgame was executed solidly, without having to predict too much since you were in the drivers seat as soon as Lop and Muk died. Well played.
  9.
  10.
  11. Lux vs Hazy
  12.
  13. Lux: This is a poem for our good friend Ned:
  14. ‘’We now have to call Ned a liar:
  15. Ned’s power rankings were dire.
  16. He sure did insist,
  17. ‘No fire resist!’,
  18. but Forretress lived a sacred fire.’’
  19. It was unfortunate you lost Mega Gallade this early to Hazy’s heat acrobatics Gliscor. Entei became a huge threat afterwards because you could not easily revenge it with your faster mons since those lacked the power to break through Hazy’s bulky Entei. But then again I can’t give you too much shit for that since I wouldn’t have predicted Yache acrobatics either. With this team it’s important to keep offensive momentum on your side so that might be something to focus on in later weeks, if you manage to do that I’m sure you’ll bounce back.
  20.
  21. Hazy: That Gliscor set was an amazing tech. It might not have done that much work versus Lux’s team, but it managed to counter arguably the biggest threat to your team being Mega Gallade, so props on that. Entei truly took the team on its back dishing out kills and chip damage to almost his entire team. Once Entei was done the rest of your team had a field day cleaning up the scraps of Lux’s team. Awesome midgame which enabled you to end the battle without too much of a problem late game. Keep it up.

  23.
  24. 14thdoc vs OT Nekomage
  25.
  26. 14thdoc: You made sure to not overpredict and just attacked what was in front of you what really worked out well this game. That’s all I can say about this 12 turn game.
  27.
  28. OTNeko: That was harsh man. Unfortunately you let Nidoqueen kill just the right mons for Mega Gyarados to clean up. Next game try to keep your speedy mons alive if your opponent brought setup sweepers. Also the baneful bunker on the Mega Gyarados didn’t bring you much. Earthquake is not a contact move so he could not get poisoned that turn while it did give him the opportunity to set up to +1 again. Don’t let this battle bring you down and try to bounce back next week!
  29.
  30.
  31. Angel vs Alex
  32.
  33. Angel: You played nice around the Landorus-T which was such a big threat to your team. When Alex was setting up with Gyarados, going into Empoleon and scalding was extremely risky, because if you did not get the burn there, Gyarados could’ve gotten out of hand very easily and possibly swept you at that point. But luckily for you, you did get the burn. Once Gyarados went down you only had to shuffle around your team a bit to get Krookodile in to a favorable matchup to then sweep the rest of Alex’s team. The midgame was risky, but it worked out for you.
  34.
  35. Alex: Ouch, losing Mega Diancie turn 1 to a no drawback bullet punch hurt a lot, since Mega Diancie provided you with some offensive pressure. I think after that you kind of panicked a bit by going into Landorus-T and setting up. If you would’ve waited a bit longer I think this Landorus set could have won you the game if some of his mons were a bit chipped down further. Later on you tried to set up with Gyarados but due to an unfortunate burn this was stopped as well. Once Gyarados went down Angel only had to shuffle around his team a bit to get Krookodile in to a favorable matchup to then sweep the rest of your team. I hope to see you bounce back next week!
  36.
  37.
  38. Track vs Nfish
  39.
  40. Track: Nice prep bringing the physically defensive Alolan Golem to 1v1 the Mega Mawile under reflect. That’s a huge threat out of the way in the early gone already. Letting Garchomp take huge damage from the Mesprit to get more scouting intel was a bit iffy since Nfish sent out his Mesprit immediately on your Garchomp. Luckily Scizor crit Nfish’s Scolipede to pull out the win, but you made this match closer than it could’ve been.
  41.
  42. Nfish: For most of the game you had momentum on your side. Unfortunately Track brought a great Alolan Golem set to 1v1 your Mega Mawile under reflect, so that mon didn’t do much this game. By just attacking what was in front of you you managed to give yourself a 1v3 situation. Unfortunately due to a bullet punch crit this wasn’t enough to win you the game since Track’s Scizor outsped your defensive Mesprit.
  43.
  44.
  45. Aero vs Lord Zoroark
  46.
  47. Aero: In the early game you lost a lot of momentum playing around that Shaymin, letting it chip multiple of your mons down while only being able to toxic it, even though it’s natural cure. After a good U-turn on the Shaymin, not wanting to take more damage with your Hydreigon you pivoted into Infernape which then U-turned on his turn on the incoming Azumarill. Seeing that Azumarill was Leftovers should’ve probably rang a bell that it was a perish trap set but unfortunately you let Kartana stay in to be perish trapped down. At least you were able to toxic Azu and knock off two mons, so your Kartana still did some valuable work. Unfortunately later on you got a bit tired of waiting and decided to pull the Slurpuff trigger a bit early, granting yet another kill to perish trap azu. After Slurpuff went down you came to terms and played out the rest of the match very well, not giving away unnecessary kills. Luckily you realized in time that Ghost times can’t be trapped otherwise this match could’ve had a different outcome. If the early game was played with a bit more patience I could see this match turned into a 6-0 in your favour.
  48.
  49. Lord Zoroark: Your Shaymin and Azumarill sets were clean, they put in a lot of work, chipping down mons and perish trapping 2 of his sweepers. Unfortunately your team was so heavily based on not-losing you forgot to build your team to also win, resulting in an 80+ turn stallfest. Sacking off your Gigalith was the nail in the Koffing, even tho this happened early game. Your Excadrill relied on sand to take down threats like Infernape and Hydreigon. If you would’ve focused more on stall breaking along with the sets that did work out this game, I feel like you could’ve come very close to winning it. Better luck next week!
