WUDC 2012 Round 6 motion

Information slide:
In 1996, South Africa passed a new constitution which included a progressive bill of rights, providing extensive protection against discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation. This was not subject to a public vote, and the people of South Africa were largely against gay rights.

Motion:
This House supports politicians who pass progressive legislation, even where this is contrary to the wishes of the democratic electorate.
