  1. ....and they said #TSA drills never happened in Flint, Michigan... It's a conspiracy theory!

  5. Getting a confession out of the #TSA was worth all the time it took.

  7. "TSA spokesman Jon Allen| & The Flint Police #CONFIRMED They are operating a "secret bomb range in an undisclosed location" .....................................................................................................*We believe that location to be: 2176 E Stanley Rd, Mt Morris, MI (Genesee Township) just east of Dort highway (Flint's industrially / junk yard district) Listed under "Aggressive Demolition"
  8. #####################################################################################################
  9. This solves the "Mysterious Explosion" or #BOOMS once and for all!
  10. #####################################################################################################
  11.
  12. Below: is a copy/pasted/unedited story taken from The Flint Journal from 3-30-2013
  13.
  14.
  15. -Today 3-30-2013
  16.
  17. The "Flint police are confirming they have a bomb range in the area at an undisclosed location"
  18.
  19. Flint Police Capt. T.P. Johnson said the police have a "controlled range" on a vacant piece of property owned by the city.
  20.
  21. "The department's bomb squad runs training exercises there and it's also where police detonate dangerous explosives they recover"
  22.
  23. "Johnson declined to say where, exactly, the range is, but said it's "far removed from anybody's home" (THIS IS NOT TRUE)
  24.
  25. "It was also the site of a training session for Transportation Security Administration officers"
  26.
  27. "About 15 of our employees attended an explosives safety training and demonstration on Feb. 26 that was conducted by the Flint Police Department," said #TSA spokesman Jon Allen.
  28. *(We are talking about 11-08-2011 not Feb 26)
  29.
  30. "The session was held at the police range and was led by police instructors," he added. "These sessions benefit our security officers by increasing recognition skills for explosives components and heightening awareness of the power of explosives."
  31.
  32. The range is used as needed and there is no set schedule to when detonations are done there, Johnson said.
  33.
  34. Some residents in the area had speculated local scrap yards had something to do with the explosions. Several scrap yard owners in the area denied that they were doing any activity that would be so loud.
  35.
  36. Rick Toney wasn't award of the police bomb range until MLive-Flint Journal notified him about it Friday.
  37.
  38. "Really? I never knew that," said Toney, who works at J&S Auto Salvage on Dort Highway.
  39.
  40. Toney said he's heard the explosions from his shop.
  41.
  42. "We heard another one yesterday or the day before," he said.
  43.
  44. "This far away, it's a weird sound, it's almost like thunder but it's not."
  45.
  46. #####################################################################################################
  47. Below are the raw 1st reactions taken from the Flint Journal Mlive/Flint comments as this story broke

  50. -The people have an absolute right to know what the police are doing at all times....the jerks.
  51. Just another example of the police driving the people mad with shock an awe. Thats right you blowup
  52. stuff and don't tell. How about fighting crime on the North end of Flint? Now thats a war zone!
  53.
  54. DWCBOB
  55. -Word here in the North End is that we're deliberately being ignored to drive all of us "undesirables" out. All resources go to downtown & the surrounding area.
  56.

  58. -so let me see if I understand this correctly. I hear some large booms that frighten me, I call 911, if the police ever show up they tell me they do not know what it is but will investigate. The TV news will report these Booms and ask if anyone knows what it could be. We spend years speculating about the source. NOW the Flint police tell us its been them ALL ALONG? Am I the only person who sees something very wrong with this? Do the police not work for us? Instead of just telling us years ago that they were doing this ,they worry people by keeping silent. I am sorry I think someone should be held accountable for these lies. If they lie about this what else are they lying to us about?
  59.

  61. -I am still getting a chuckle from the geniuses who were claiming that the scrap yards were crushing cars, with filled gas tanks, causing the explosions. LOL
  62.
  63. 3sense
  64. -I now know why there are no witnesses to some of these murders. People of Flint don't trust them. What was the purpose of this being top secret?
  65. Lock needs to make a public apology. But I am sure he is like Pickell, He is above the people he is supposedly? working for.
  66.

  68. -apology with no accountability.

  72. -Make that a, not-so-secret bomb range...

  83. -The use and purpose seem entirely reasonable: we read stories from time to time of people coming across old grenades or shells from a previous war and having police take them off "for safety". Detonating them sounds entirely appropriate. But WHY the secrecy ? I cannot think of any good reason. I'd rather have it fenced and posted so no one might 'wander in' by accident.

  86. -While the police were justified in keeping the actual location of the bomb range secret, it was a grave disservice to the public to keep its existence secret. Apparently Flint's Police Chief and his department are devoid of common sense. In fact considering the large amount of vacant property in Flint they might want to alternate where they detonate explosives. I've seen pictures of explosives being covered with a mat made of old tires to contain the explosion. Digging a hole and placing the explosive in it and covering it with such a mat would drastically reduce the sound of the detonation, thus reducing public alarm.

  89. -Other commenters nailed this. There's no excuse for this secret activity. Where? Fine. But why not LET THE PUBLIC KNOW they will be detonating these things.
  90. I live near a gun range. I also live near a crazy guy who think he's in the wild, wild west, with his own gun range and cache of weapons. When you hear noises like this, you worry something is wrong, something horrible has happened! And it sounds close!
  91. Totally irresponsible to not tell us, but certainly not surprised. This may be the least transparent city and county in the entire U.S.
  92. .
  93. unknown
  94. -So, that is what they do with all the bombs they take off of the Flint stoners.
  95. B/w Is that the depth of your mind's capability?

  100. S-ecret, militarized, police forces with drones and tanks and swat snipers and unlimited surveillance rights.
  101. When I read the headline I figure local police had set up a missile or bomb testing range to start developing weapons.

  107. -Someone should be arrested for Disturbing the Peace. Someone should do time or pay a fine just as they would if this was the active of a private citizen. No wonder we have the highest per capita murder rate, our cops are off playing boom boom instead of enforcing the law, and then PRETENDING to investigate the issue.
  108.
  109. Everyone involved is a criminal, regardless of their status in law enforcement. They should have notified the public in advance, and someone should have been a study done about the environmental impact, someone should have been measuring noise levels from the site at various ranges to determine the noise impact if for no other reason.
  110.
  111. Last but not least, the CITIZENS SHOULD BE INFORMED OF BOMB RANGES IN THE CITY LIMITS. JUST HOW BLOODY STUPID IS THE FPD?
  112.

  118.
  119. -Just how bloody stupid IS the FPD? Question asked and answered. They acted dumb about this for how many years? And all this time I thought it was criminals that were blowing the north side to pieces.
  120.

  122. -They should have to apply for all permits and pay the fees associated costs such as enviromental studies just like us serfs have to do. This whole police state they are advocating all the way from the feds, states, county and townships is going to blow up in their face, probably sooner than later.........pinning a tin star on your shirt does not put you above the law.
  123.
  124. BW
  125. -No way are they finding that many 'live mortar rounds and grenades'. Release the reports that back that statement up,when and where seized etc.More like out of control cops with too little to do and or no supervision. Your tax dollars at work.An outside investigation is called for.
  126.
  127. farnum
  128. -Let's face it; little boys who enjoy blowing stuff up grow up to be men that are amused by lowing stuff up; my brothers included. Boy, what they could have done with an underground bunker, but then agin; they could've been arrested for disturbing the peace if done inside the city limits.
  129.
  130. BW
  131. -There seems to be a lack of respect, accountability, and common sense from public officials today. Why?

  137. -I am a little confused, I can only set fireworks off on certain holidays, but the law that made these laws can do it anytime they want? So I guess when I set some fireworks off when I feel like I will just say I found several mortars and grenades and disposed of them.
  138.

  140. -Here is what I posted on FPO moments ago, "I must say, shocking...that no LE agency would disclose this secret bomb disposal site. I had been told by several people in the know, including city officials (incl PD) and members of the news media that the official explanation for the "loud, earth shattering, window shaking booms" was UNKNOWN. Now we are told otherwise. Municipalities, regardless of size, need to be transparent in INFORMING the public. Quite frankly, WHAT is the big secret? WHY a big secret? What could be gained by HIDING this needed law enforcement and/or military need (to disarm or detonate objects)? Why not just issue a press release saying "periodically COF PD, MSP, GCSD and/or ATF units will be detonating objects. YOU will hear a boom. YOU, the citizen, will be safe. This is a controlled detonation. Thank you , the Mayor. Its that simple - a straight forward press release. On the other hand, is someone hiding the fact we may have hundreds of "live grenades" here in Flint or, perhaps way more meth labs than previously thought? Mr Mayor - its called a press release. Its that simple."

  144. Maybe it is the training they don't want you to know about? And maybe not so much the training but the reason for the training? i.e. perhaps to be ready for an anticipated civil uprising should the government decide they want to engage in usurpation or tyrannical activities like seizing guns.
  145.
  146. Erika Bever
  147. -Interesting EPA angle. Explosions of sufficient magnitude could theoretically be responsible for aquifer shifts resulting in changes of ground water pollution levels. Levels that might otherwise be attributed to some perfectly harmless business adventure.
  148.
  149. bigbambu
  150. -It's pratice, Erika, for the day when they come for our guns. And Americorp will be their foot soldiers. Get ready for the black helicopter ride to the FEMA 're-education' camp.
  151.
  152. jacksondm
  153. -Methinks there is a bit of paranoia among the posters. The detonations are legitimate, I believe: the secrecy is outrageous.
