  1. [15:26] Eirene approaches the bench, setting herself down upon it. A smile given to Dorothea, yet not much else as of now. Looking out over the square, the princess sets her hands in her lap.
  2.
  3. "Good evening, Dianna. It is hoped you are well. Though, truly, you look upset. Is there something troubling you?"
  4.
  5. Looking over towards her now, the princess tilts her head just to the side.
  6.
  7. "If there is, you need not speak of it should you wish not to- I will not force you to tell."
  8. (Eirene ras Petrakis)
  9. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  10.
  11. [15:32] The girl breathed in, then out. An attempt to be calm. Suddenly, she looked towards the bright white- the pristine dress of Eirene.
  12.
  13. Frowning, she looked back downwards, mumbling incoherently. Looking back to the other side, as if she had no reason to stare at 'brilliance'. Gnawing at her lip once more, she sighed.
  14.
  15. "I'm- I'm fine. Good evenin' and all, though, I guess. I'm just... Thinkin', 'bout stuff..."
  16.
  17. She looked back forward.
  18.
  19. "I've been having trouble with my magic, 's all."
  20. (Dianna)
  21. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  22.
  23. [15:42] The princess seemed not to mind the mumbling, or the grumpy looking away- simply casting her gaze back towards the square.
  24.
  25. A quiet tap of her fingers against each other as she considers the slum rat's words- her lips pressed into a fine line.
  26.
  27. "My experience with my own magic is little, yet mayhaps I could assist?
  28.
  29. Such an offer extends to all matters, of course. It seems this lies the most important as of this moment, however."
  30.
  31. The princess sounds as if she's truly trying to offer help, but, of course- sounds utterly pretentious at the same time, despite the sincerity of her words.
  32. (Eirene ras Petrakis)
  33. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  34.
  35. [15:50] The fact the peasant was being offered some form of reprieve from her problems by the Princess of all people. The fact that she sounded pretentious AND kind was so confusing that the girl couldn't help but squirm a tiny bit.
  36.
  37. "It... It's uh... Eh...My magic, it's makin' me go blind sometimes. When I get too nervous, sometimes I just... It... It ain't there to... Well it is. It tries ta' block things out. I d'nno why. It's weird, yeah?"
  38.
  39. She paused, before tilting her head,"Y'don't use your magic? Ain't that weird? Don'tcha get the best teachers fer that?"
  40. (Dianna)
  41. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  42.
  43. [16:00] Dorothea just stand vigilant ner the Princess. preforming her duty as the royal guard.
  44. (Dorothea)
  45. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  46.
  47. [16:10] Her magic is making her go blind. While aware that there are magics that can obscure ones senses, she is clueless as to their operations- herself not being a magi of that ilk.
  48.
  49. Yet, mention of nervousness and anxiety being the possible cause- it seems likely it is her accidentally using her magic to protect herself.
  50.
  51. A slight chuckle, of course, as Dianna points out that it's odd she doesn't often use her own magics. A slight nod, of agreement, as she offers response to such first.
  52.
  53. "There is little need to make use of my own magics, Dianna." Which would make sense, given she is royalty- endless legions of servants set to fulfill her every requirement, and many of her wants.
  54.
  55. "It sounds to myself as if you are unwittingly using your own magics to protect yourself from what makes yourself discomforted, or nervous. Admittedly, I am no expert of magic, and even less so in what is assumed to be illusionary."
  56.
  57. Remaining unaware that her presence, and intent to help is making Dianna somewhat uncomfortable.
  58. (Eirene ras Petrakis)
  59. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  60.
  61. [16:13] There was some form of discomfort still raising from Dianna, though thankfully as they talked, it was lowering as well. Raising and lowering, this was a conundrum in her own head.
  62.
  63. Swallowing a bit, bitterly, she chuckled. "What if y'bro hits the ashes? Kicks the bucket? Y'know, you'll need t'do some pretty harsh stuff if anythin' bad happens... It's best ya' learn now, while we're all young."
  64.
  65. She raised her hands up slightly, to stare at her palms. They were sweaty, notably, and the illusionary shadows kept bubbling atop her skin, as if trying to erupt.
  66.
  67. She thankfully kept it at bay for now, through use of calming her nerves- and well, forcing it down.
  68.
  69. "...Yeah, it'd make sense. I guess I don't know how exactly that's happenin'. Still, d'you at least know what kinda magic you use?" She asked, turning her head to the side at Eirene.
  70. (Dianna)
  71. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  72.
  73. [16:34] Eirene gives a very slight sigh, lips twisting downwards. "As much as such would be a horrible, terrible event, it is always a possibility.
  74.
  75. Should my brother die, either Alice or myself would become the next in line for the throne.
  76.
  77. Yet such is a possibility ill to speak on, and I advise not speaking of it in future, Dianna."
  78.
  79. Gently, she reaches into the purse by her side, and produces a fine fabric- some form of handkerchief, perhaps? And extends it towards Dianna.
  80.
  81. "You may use this to wipe your hands. It must not be comfortable for them to remain as such." Conveniently ignoring the bubbling shadows. "Of course I am aware of my magics- I simply have little reasons to make use of them."
  82. (Eirene ras Petrakis)
  83. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  84.
  85. [16:36] Looking towards the handkerchief offered, she sighed, reaching over to take it- albeit, very cautiously. Wiping her hands of any grime- there was very little, the blackness on her hands was magic, not dirt- and then staring down at it.
  86.
  87. "Dooo… Y'want this back?" She asked, before huffing,"I ain't sayin' they will, jus', y'know, be prepared fer it." She cleared her throat, before sighing afterwards.
  88.
  89. "An'way, guess y'got a point. No reason t'just toss yer magic around unless ya' got a reason. I guess I jus' have different reasonings from ya."
  90. (Dianna)
  91. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  92.
  93. [16:41] Dorothea says, "Forgive m for departing your grace. I needed to relieve some tension in the dojo."
  94. [16:41] Dorothea plops on the bench next to the princess.
  95. (Dorothea)
  96. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  97.
  98. [16:43] * You have been awarded 4 Roleplay Points! *
  99. [16:43] basks in the moonlight while feeling the breeze on their cheek
  100. (Silica Vein)
  101. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  102.
  103. [16:51] It was for the sweat upon Dianna's hands, less so that it could wipe away magic. Such would be a useful tool to have though, would it exist.
  104.
  105. Giving a dismissive gesture, and a shake of her head, the princess continues to smile.
  106.
  107. "You may keep it. I have many within my chambers. I am aware you were not saying he would- simply that such is within the realm of places we do not speak. Yes?"
  108.
  109. Nodding once, she'd continue without waiting for Dianna to respond.
  110.
  111. "What are your reasonings for using magic, Dianna?"
  112.
  113. Though, as Dorothea approaches- a moment is taken to respond to her.
  114.
  115. "Many a time, I have told you you need not stay by my side at all times, Dorothea. You need not apologize for performing no ill deed."
  116. (Eirene ras Petrakis)
  117. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  118.
  119. [16:53] The girl sighed, airily. She nodded, in a conceding manner,"Yeah, sure... No staying on th'topic. Uh..."
  120.
  121. She cleared her throat again, going to tuck the soft handkerchief away, then. She'd need to clean it later.
  122.
  123. "Me? M'magic… Well, I d'nno, honestly. When I found out I was a magi, I uh... Y'know, I got super excited 'n shi-... Uh, stuff. But afterwards, I didn't know what ta' do with it..."
  124.
  125. She stared back at her non-sweaty hand. "But ever since I picked up ma' affinity fer the arts, it's been weird, like I'm tryin' to bend things around me, but failin', you know? If I can't do stuff with magic, what use's it?"
  126. (Dianna)
  127. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  128.
  129. [16:55] The Princess was once again teling her not to apologize for leaving her station. And yet, she couldn't help but to feel somewhat guilty. What if something had happened while she was away? The young Knight tilted her hed to the side. Not wanting to deal with the thought of potentially losing the princess due to a failure of her duty.
  130.
  131. And yet it seemed that Eirene wanted to spend time with her friend. And that was okay. The Rhoynish Knight had a dept to pay off, after all.
  132.
  133. "I suppose I understand. Do be safe. I am going to go mine."
  134. (Dorothea)
  135. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  136.
  137. [17:01] Ophelia Soleis says, "H-Hello everyone...."
  138. [17:02] Dorothea asks, "Ah, Ophelia. Before I go mining I wanted to know if you could make mana amnesia potions?"
  139. [17:04] Ophelia Soleis says, "I-I can, yes..."
  140. [17:05] "Fare well, Dorothea. Perhaps, bring someone with yourself- it would be safer to travel in a group, yes?"
  141.
  142. The knight departing, her full attention is once again granted to Dianna. Sitting in still silence- and as she listens, an idea strikes her. The slum rat had made mention of the teachers available to her at the castle, yes?
  143.
  144. "Excitement seems reasonable. For many, it is a power thought unobtainable.
  145.
  146. Your affinity for the arts...you are an artist, Dianna? Perhaps in such lies the source of your problems. Magic is an expression of oneself- when last did you take part in your preferred artistry? Or, when last did you while attempting to perform magics?"
  147.
  148. Ophelia approaches, and the princess gives the craftergirl a gentle wave.
  149.
  150. "Good evening, Ophelia. You are well, it is hoped?"
  151. (Eirene ras Petrakis)
  152. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  153.
  154. [17:05] Ophelia returns with her own gentle wave, coughing lightly before smiling,
  155.
  156. "Y-Yes... I am w-well..." She answered politely before looking to Dorothea once more. "D-Did you have the mater-materials for one...?"
  157. (Ophelia Soleis)
  158. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  159.
  160. [17:07] The girl couldn't help but stare at the Princess in a confused manner. She blinked a few times, before reaching up to rub at her neck. Sighing quietly, she smiled, in a bitter- nervous manner.
  161.
  162. "You say that, but like... I ain't a painter, I ain't any sort've artist." She raised her hand up,"Watch, if I try t'do it..."
  163.
  164. She stared around at the others, before gripping her hand closed. Suddenly, a shadowy, black substance poured from betwixt her fingers, dripping upon the ground with an audible plop, before vanishing into nothingness.
  165.
  166. "... I think my brain's meltin'." She muttered, frowning.
  167. (Dianna)
  168. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  169.
  170. [17:07] Hrist moves from behind Ophelia -she was way too lanky to hide behind her, anyway - and approaches the princess. She bows awkwardly to the embodiment of Essharan suzerainty. Her eyes are fixed on the floor.
  171.
  172. "I am a Cadet now, your grace!"
  173. (Hrist)
  174. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  175.
  176. [17:11] Tiernay hums and steps off.
  177. (Tiernay)
  178. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  179.
  180. [17:12] Dorothea says, "I was going to ask you for the materials"
  181. [17:12] Ophelia Soleis says, "O-Oh, yes...."
  182. [17:13] Ophelia held up her hand, beginning to count off the materials patiently.
  183.
  184. "F-Four fire crystals, t-three soothing reeds, four glowing mushrooms, and t-two cylions…." She recited with practiced precision.
  185. (Ophelia Soleis)
  186. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  187.
  188. [17:14] Dorothea says, "...Three. SOothing reeds. Yikes."
  189. [17:14] Dorothea says, "That's gonna be hard to find."
  190. [17:15] Ophelia Soleis says, "Y-Yes..."
  191. [17:15] Dorothea says, "The rest not so mcuh."
  192. [17:17] Dorothea says, "Ah..."
  193. [17:17] Dorothea says, "To go mine... or go look for sooth reed..."
  194. [17:19] A nod of acknowledgment towards Ophelia, and then towards Hrist. "Such is good to hear from both of you." Yet more is said to Hrist. "You may rise, Hrist. Though I lie without the order, perhaps you would accompany Dorothea on her trips to the mines? It would be an opportunity to earn money, as well as an opportunity to see a Knight of the Order outside the city."
  195.
  196. Yet she can not look from Dianna forever. She is attempting to assist them, after all- and the display with the black, globular mass was somewhat concerning.
  197.
  198. "I truly do not believe your brain is melting. Though I have little knowledge in medicine, were you brain melting, I believe you would not be able of to have awareness of it.
  199.
  200. ...though, admittedly, I am unsure as to what to suggest next. There is certain to be someone within the castle who may, perhaps, provide advice?"
  201.
  202. The princess falls silent for several moments.
  203.
  204. "I am uncertain. Apologies, Dianna- it somewhat appears I'm less able to help than I had hoped."
  205. (Eirene ras Petrakis)
  206. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  207.
  208. [17:22] Hrist exclaims, "I'll protect her...!"
  209. [17:24] Hrist gets up, and stares at the tall Knight with her own piercing eyes. Compared to Dorothea, Hrist doesn't really look the part of a knight. She's too thin and untrained, and her proportions are awkward. In short, she looks like a kid!
  210.
  211. As she studies Dorothea, Hrist seems to be thinking about something. An old conversation, maybe?
  212.
  213. "I'm not going to be able to kill the monsters, but I can stand guard...!"
  214.
  215. (Hrist)
  216. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  217.
  218. [17:29] Sui mer Joyau says, "..."
  219. [17:29] Sui turns to look at the water.
  220. (Sui mer Joyau)
  221. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  222.
  223. [17:31] The peasant seemed ultimately to not mind the fact that the Princess was of little help. If anything, she was glad she didn't have to rely on the girl, after all...
  224.
  225. "... 't's fine. I'll learn to control this thing on m'own. So..." She smiled, awkwardly. Crookedly.
  226.
  227. "Didja ask how much yer dress was?" Asked the girl, pointing at the Princess, but never touching her. "It compliments yer smile. Kinda. I still think it looks weird- the smile, I mean."
  228. (Dianna)
