  1. You awaken to another morning on the island. The sounds of xylophones fill your ears as you slowly rise from bed, signifying the beginning of the worst part of your day. Camp Breakfast. It wasn't the food that you hated, it was the fact that you had no one to enjoy it with. That was a problem that currently applied to almost everything you currently did at camp.
  2.
  3. It had been almost a week since you arrived and still hadn't made any real friends.
  4.
  5. Back at home you were always a bit spacey and frequently split away from your peers at school to do your own thing, but at least you felt somewhat at ease when around them. Now you were at camp and dealing with complete and utter strangers. The fact that your ship arrived three hours later than the initial camp commencement didn't help any, and only made the isolation worse since everyone barely knew you were there. Reach the building and passing through the doors, you grab a tray and join the back of the line in front of the serving area. Soon you reached the main hall, bustling with the chatter of campers discussing their plans for the day or what amazing thing they had seen or done yesterday.
  6.
  7. You quickly glance around the room, looking for the best table to sit at. The ones closest to the front door were out, too many of the little kids sitting there already. "How about the tables near the window, the kids your age always seem to gravitate towards those ones.", you though. Bingo, there was one last empty space at the table that cute girl in the red sweater and cone hat was sitting at, and it was right next to her too! "Why the cone hat?", you though, "Feh, I'll ask her when I get there." As you get closer and closer you realize that the camper in front of you seems to have had the same idea. You couldn't just break out into sprint towards the table without knocking him out of the way and making a scene in front of everyone. Maybe you could nudge him to try and get him to let you pass? But you were too late, he had made it first and was already striking up a conversation with her.
  8.
  9. Unless you wanted to hover around the lunch room looking for an empty spot like a weirdo you would have to take one of the empty tables at the back of the room, like usual. As you sat down at a table near the back door you turned to get a good look at guy who robbed you of your spot, his blue sweater, his droopy ears and that trunk of a nose he had. You weren't going sit back and accept isolation you had the past few days, today was going to be different. You reached into pocket and pulled out a handful multicolored cubes with one hand and a matchbox with the other. "El Gigante firecrackers, these bad boys can shake up any occasion.", you whisper to yourself. "If just one of these was able to knock my gym teacher flat on his ass in surprise then this dorks doesn't stand chance.", you strike the match and swat the fuses sticking out of them with the flame. As the fuses lit an evil grin crosses your face and you quickly get up from your seat and toss them all towards the back of the elephant kids head. As if through some sort of divine intervention or sixth sense he bends over to grab something from under the table causing your explosive payload to fly right over and into the middle of the room. Quickly you dropped to the floor, coving your head while the rest of the campers turned their head to see what was flying through the air. What happened next could only be described as a deafening explosion of screams and color.
  10.
  11. When you felt the last few streamers bounce against your back you get to your feet to get a look at the aftermath of those fireworks. A mess would be putting it lightly, the main hall looked like a hurricane had wiped right through it. The wooden tables were overturned and the seats you could see either had broken legs or were snapped clean in two. Foods were tossed against the wall and floor with such force that they looked more like paint streaking down a green canvas. The campers around you were covered in confetti, streamers and their breakfast and wore expressions of thorough shell-shock. A tomboy-ish girl with a braided ponytail was trying to comfort two younger campers, one girl wearing dungarees, holding her ears and crying into her knees and another, a boy curled up and shivering in a baby-blue security blanket. Many other campers were in a state of confusion and dismay but all you cared about was what happened to that prick who took your spot. You moved towards what remained of the hedgehog girls table to find her on her knees and scraping oatmeal out from her hair. "Ooh, was that some sort of spell from the witches?" she murmured "Oscar, is that you?" she said turning her head to face you. "Ah, no. I'm.." "Oscar? Oscar!?" she quickly cut you off before you could introduce yourself. She had begun to frantically turn her head to search her surroundings, "Ohmygosh, did Susie blow up Oscar!?" she said as she got to her feet to search under the broken tables and seats. "Oscar? Susie?" you say, "Who are they?" but before the girl could turn to answer you a voice rang out from above. "Hedgehog, I'm up here!" Both of you looked up to see two boys curled over the rafters of the roof. The one who called out, Oscar, waved down to you, but soon lost his grip and began free falling towards you two.
  12.
  13. Quickly the girl, Hedgehog, lifted her arms into the air and caught him before he landed. "Oh, Oscar! I was worried about what happened to you after that explosion." Hedgehog said with a smile of relief, "How'd you and Max get up there anyway?" "Oh, I think that sound of it going off scared us so much that we jumped right out of our seats." he explained. "Yeah, I think our ears are a lot more sensitive to super loud sounds like that" the other boy, Max, said as he climbed down the wall and join the group. "Yeah, or maybe your just chicken." you say as you bump his arm with you elbow. "Look at who's talking, you're the only one here that actually LOOKS like a chicken" he smiled and shot back. All of you began to laugh together as the danger of the moment passes and things seem to be looking up for you. "Hey, I don't think I know your name." Oscar says to you. "Oh, yeah its.."
  14.
  15. *SLAM*, the doors of the mess hall fly open and three girls on magic brooms wearing matching black dresses and witch hats quickly swoop into the room before disembarking them, wands at the ready. "Wait, were these three actually witches?" you thought. You had seen them a few times around the island but never really interacted with them, you just wrote them off as a pair of friends dedicated to their weird hobby. But if they really were witches with magical powers than things could go sour for you real quick. "Alright babies." the pink haired girl and head of the trio spoke, "Which of you did this?" she snarled and aimed her wand at various campers around her. "Man, what did they even do to cause such a mess?" said the girl with the yellow moon as she looked about the turmoil, "And how was it strong enough to shake our own cabins?" "That's what we're here to find out, Betsy" the pink haired one spat, "I'm going to make the dumb baby that ruined my breakfast in bed pays dearly, but, if they come up and admit it, maybe, just maybe I'll go easy on them." Oscar, Hedgehog and Max had made their way to the front of the crowd to confront the pink haired girl. "What do you mean "one of us"?" Hedgehog said angry as she got into the pink witches face. "Susie, you're the only one on this island nasty enough to try and blow everyone up with a spell that throws confetti and streamers." "Me!?" Susie seemed outraged at the thought of it. "If I ever wanted to blow you and your stupid baby friends up, I'd do it right in front of your face and savor every second of it." Susie shouted, taking the angry out of Hedgehog and forcing her to back up. The room had gone silent, the small girl you saw earlier was holding the leg of the of the braided ponytail tom-girl and trying her best to stay out of sight. Campers were frozen in fear of what the angry witch might do to them and a few had even ran to hide behind overturned tables, bracing for another catastrophic event. You were beginning to sweat bullets, no one suspected you but just thinking about what Susie and the other two witches would do if they found out took the breath out of you.
  16.
  17. "Not going to fess up huh?" Susie said putting a hand on her hips, "Guess were doing this my way." She held her wand into the air, "Reverso" and the room had begun to glitter. Hedgehog stepped back up to Susie as if she were prepared to say something, "Sremaerts dna ittefnoc sworht taht lleps a htiw pu enoyreve wolb dna yrt ot hguone ytsan dnalsi siht no eno ylno eht er'uoy ,eisuS." You must of heard that wrong, it was complete gibberish. But it quickly hit you, it wasn't nonsense, it was just in reverse. Your heart began running a million miles a second, that witch Susie had put the whole mess hall in reverse to see it all unfold from the start. The crowd dispersed back to their spots before the witches had arrived. You, Max, Hedgehog and Oscar soon all began laughing in reverse at your joke before you had told it in reverse. Max climbed back up the walls and in into the rafters while Hedgehog seeming tossed Oscar up there with him before searching and kneeling to the ground. It was horrifying being forced to watch yourself move through the mess of broken tables and chairs a second time and into the back of the mess hall. You reached the spot where you hit the floor to take cover from your fireworks, slowly you got to the floor and curled into a ball. "This is it." you thought, you were about to be exposed and couldn't do a thing to stop it. "What are they going to me? How am I going to meet any friends after they see it was me?" your mind raced and you wished you could simply get up and run away from this but the magic had an iron grip on you, as if it had a mind of its own and knew you were guilty. As you laid there listening to the explosions and the havoc play a second time you felt like crying as millions of panicked thoughts and painful scenarios played through your mind. As the sounds of the explosion crescendoed, you knew that the moment this all started from was near. Popping up from the floor you could see that the mess hall had fixed itself and the fireworks flying right at you. Just as they passed the hunched over Oscar he'd sat back up. That cruel smile had found its way back onto your face as your back arched and your arm shot out as if to catch the handful of boxes but just before they'd made contact everything froze.
  18.
  19. "Aha!" You could see the witches make their way towards you, Susie wearing a toothy grin and looking you straight in the eyes, Betsy, crossing her arms and looking extremely angry and the "What's that you've got there? A handful of lit fireworks? And not only are you using them indoors but tossing them right at Oscar "Special Little Guy" Peltzer's sweet little head." she gushed in a mockingly sweet tone. She put a hand on your cheek before placing her mouth near your ear, "Sweetie, I think you just broke camp rules." she spoke softly. She turned to the rest of the campers and pointed her wand. All of them unfroze, they looked around the room and at themselves to confirm that they were still ok before making their way over to the witches surrounding you. Oscar was the first to reach you and the look on his face was a mixture of confusion and astonishment. "But why would you want to hurt me? I've never even met you before today.." he croaked as a few tears began welling up in his eyes. Hedgehog quickly came up from behind, letting out a gasp before looking straight into your eyes with nothing but pure contempt before turning away. You could see Max approach out of the side of your eye but once he realized it was you he simply shook his head saying a low "Totally Uncool" under his breath. As the crowd quickly grew, the faces of anger and disappointment did also, the tom-girl, Alexa, had to be held back by her younger sister, Lem, and the blanket kid, Pepper, to stop her from punching, "That slimy little grin" off of your face. You were stuck bearing the maniacs smile of that moment but on the inside you were in mix of total despair and utter hopelessness, the sweetest thing anyone could do for you at this moment would be to kill you on the spot and free you from ire of your fellow campers. With a swing of her wand Susie had unfroze you, and let everyone watch as you caught and de-ignited the firecrackers. There she ended the spell, leaving you with a box of matches in one hand and fireworks in the other."Well mr. rule breaker, what do you have to say for yourself hm?" Not having the gall to deny your clearly displayed illicit actions to everyone, you hang your head down and say nothing, trying to keep yourself from breaking down into tears.
  20.
  21. "Aww, don't feel bad my little baby, maybe the camp rule book has something to cheer you up!" Pulling a giant book from thin air and cracking it open, Susie allowed the glowing green pages to flip by at a break neck pace before abruptly coming to a stop. "Article 50-B dictates that vandals of camp property must work camp maintenance under camp councilors guidance until deemed properly disciplined." "Oooohohoho!" Susie laughed, the book poofing into thin air. It looks like we've got ourselves a little helping hand this summer! "Well, I expect to see you at our cabins tomorrow morning uh..whats your name again?" "Anon.." you said softly, not bothering to look up. Susie cocked her head to the side, "What was that? Aaron? Your Aaron? Speak up dummy." "Anon" you said again, this time a bit clearer. "Adam? Is that it? Is your name Adam?" Susie leaned in closer, a bushy eyebrow raised. Raising your head to glare into Susie's eyes you repeat yourself again. "It. Is. A-NON." anger in your voice as you enunciate it. Susie drew back before squinting at you. "Anon? Did I hear you correctly? Did you really just say Anon?" A broad smile slowly replaced her confusion. "As in Anon-ymous?" She nearly keeled over from her initial laughter and held her stomach as it continued. "Did you really just say your name was "Anonymous? "DID HE REALLY JUST SAY HIS NAME WAS ANONYMAHAHA!" Your head fell back down and your shoulders slumped with it. Susie was unable to finish speaking as her laughter finally fell in full swing. Betsy tried to stifle her laughter and keep her look of disappointment but after hearing Susie's plea, she couldn't help but let loose a laugh leading to her turning her back to you and giggling. The third witch must not of been as cruel as her peers, her only reaction was to cock her head and look at you with a face of confusion, astonishment or possibly even profound interest. As for the surrounding campers, they either begun to laugh like Susie had or simply cringed from secondhand embarrassment. "Ahahah ahah aha ooh boy, I think I'm going to really enjoy making you miserable, ANONEEYMOOS!" Susie teased before she teleported in a cloud of sparkles. "Jeez, you really can't make things easy for yourself can you Anon?" Betsy said before teleporting out, a genuine sincerity in her voice. "I think you might have brain damage, If you do I can help you with it tomorrow!" The third witch said before whisking herself away in sparkles.
  22.
  23. With the witch's gone the campers now begun to leave the mess hall, some looking back at you with faces pity and embarrassment, until you were standing alone in the empty silence. Finally alone again, with no one left to further judge you, you drop to your hands and knees and begin to crying to yourself. "So much for making friends."
