Who is Nick Alexander?
He's listed as Chairman from Jan 1995 to May 1998 in the EDGE staff list.
However it is not her (Leigh's) father, who is alledgedly named Micheal J. Alexander. Description fits too since he was heavily involved in publishing.
Haven't found a fitting Nick Alexander on linkedin yet.

Mr. Nick Alexander served as Chief Executive of Pearson New Entertainment. Nick is such a large figure, he was an executive editor at EDGE magazine with no mention- his involvement may be hidden in many places (Very rich he owns 20 acres of farmland right outside of the collge he attended Oxford University)

Nick       Alexander looks like he has connections to Richard Branson the     founder   of the Virgin group who own over 400 companys. Richard has  a    networth  of  4.9 billion USD https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Branson ; and Future Publishing was sold back to Chris Anderson

EDGE Magazine is where Leigh Alexander and her boss (Simon Carless) came from before working at Gamasutra. EDGE Magazine is owned by Future Publishing (check the bottom of edge-online.com ), founded by TED Curator Chris Anderson in 1985, and the company also owns PC Gamer, the Official Xbox Magazine, and GamesRadar ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Future_plc ). Another noteworthy one is of course, Keith Stuart. He's Games Editor for the Guardian nowadays and I think everyone knows how they covered GG.

Leigh Alexander appears to have a long-standing relationship   with Chris Plante (gave him recommendation), GJP member and co-founder   of Polygon, currently at The Verge.
