Background: Chantelle was born to two Korean parents who were fairly young at the time they had her(19 years old) and they didn't have enough to support a baby plus they were scared to go to their parents.When she was 1 year old,she was finally adopted by a French-German woman and an English man who became her adoptive parents.When her parents adopted her they changed her legal name.They took her to Birmingham,England where they lived and she practically grew up there.Once in a while - every other month - she would visit her adoptive paternal grandparents at Cannes,France for a week or so.They taught her how to speak proper French and she grew very close to them.Her father's job as a businessman allowed her to travel to different places for vacation.They wanted the best for her so they made sure she got proper education and even enrolled her in performing arts classes when she showed interest in it.When she was 7 years old,her parents explained to her that she was adopted.She had already guessed that she was adopted since she did look kinda Asian and neither of them were.When she was 13 years old,her parents surprised him when her adoptive parents took her to South Korea so she could meet her biological parents.She had been asking a lot of questions about them before so they thought it would be a good idea to set up a meeting with them.When she met them,they had a long talk with her about why they gave her up for adoption.After that,they stayed in Korea for a month and during that month,they decided to live there because her parents saw job opportunities there.During that month,she got scouted by SM which was another good reason to stay.
