- Cruiser Command Content Brainstorming
- This text file will most likely contain a lot of un-organized content used for planning the game.
- 1. Basics
- The Goal ( Death of the enemy )
- The Teams ( Red, Blue, or whatever )
- The Cruisers

- The Items ( Weapons, Materials, Ammo )
- The Ships
- The goal in the game of Cruiser Command is to kill the enemy cruiser. How you do this depends on you. You can either
- try and get the game over with to prove you are a master of rushing, or show your true skills in combat by allowing the
- enemy to upgrade as you do, making for one glorious battle.
- Each team can capture planets. Planets are used for buying/selling, setting up trade-routes, and upgrading. Planets
- can be completely destroyed, so capturing can be dangerous when you become too powerful. Capturing can only be
- done when its health is 25% or lower. Upgrades can make the requirement 30% or 35%.
- Asteroids spawn randomly on the map around the player. ( dying radius would be farther than player view, imitating a
- sort of fog of war and optimization method. ) Asteroids when generated will have random contents of different
- materials. Some materials are rare and very little to none will be found in asteroids, however a fluke can give one team
- a bounty.
- Upgrading will make your crew and ship much stronger, but can be done differently each time. Your ship can either be
- versatile, powerful or resistant. Spending your resources on all 3 types would limit you slightly, but researching 2
- different trees could become an advantage if used correctly.
- The role of the player is the most important part of the game, as it is what makes it function. It is not hard to fulfill
- your role and it is not hard to pick another one either. If you are done with your role and it has no activity at the
- moment, you can either query a player for their role, they have 2 choices: Decline, Accept. Accepting will result in your
- role becoming Crew Member, a player with almost no jurisdiction over some parts of the ship.
- Planets themselves can be boarded and players can leave the ship to do combat on the same planet if they are both
- attempting to capture the same planet, or even defend. When enemy players are on your planet, they can destroy the
- global generator which disables space defense systems, allowing for easier capture. To repair the planet you must ward
- off the enemy. The way this would be designed mapping-wise would be very easy. For each planet there would be a
- somewhat medium-large room outside of the space area to act as the pinnacle or command center of the planet where
- combat would be done.
- The space area would be a very large flat panel as big as hammer can handle. Inside your ship would also be a room
- outside of the space area where players interact with eachother in first person view. Enemy players can board your
- ship, and their ship can take a slot in your docking bay. Shooting it with weapons can destroy their ship, emptying the
- slot, or it can be recalled at their cruiser.
- At the end of every round, the next map + gametype is chosen. (votemap is allowed but requires 75% vote)

- Skirmish
- -- Play a whole 60 minutes on a regular gametype.
- Endless
- -- You get the picture. Votemap is enabled after 30 minutes.
- Sudden Death
- -- Both ships are permanently infested, slowly damaging them.
- Conquest
- -- Gain conquest points for every planet you own.
- Rush
- -- No asteroids, gain money overtime from planets you own. Anomoly spawn-rate increased. Upgrade duration
- decreased. Round lasts 60 minutes.
- 3. The Teams
- The two teams will consist of 7-8 players each. Unbalanced teams by 2+ players will be rebalanced.
- Team captains will be chosen before the game starts.
- 4. The Cruisers
- The cruiser is the most important part of the game for each team, also the most active.
- The cruiser relies on energy, which comes from the reactor in the center of the ship. The reactor requires maintenance,
- so an engineer will need to fix it or refresh the fuel.
- Parts of the ship can become broken and un-usable after a battle or from being infected. The ship being infested allows
- the ship captain to purge the ship, except for the bridge, which is closed off by an airlock and not prone to infection.
- You can use your resources to repair your ship, if you have the right ones. The engineer must fix specific things like the
- engine, or seats to the miner/gunner positions. You can also get repairs from a planet you own, and buy resources for
- later repairing/upgrading or expensive repair/shield kits.
- 5. The Players
- Each players sole purpose in Cruiser Command is to use their role to it's fullest. If the role is not important at the time
- or you'd prefer completing another task elsewhere, a player can easily switch roles if there is an empty slot.
- 6. The Items
- Items can range from Raw Ore, Ammo for ship weapons, Weapons for players or ships, Artifacts or harvested junk for
- recycling ($$$).
- 7. The Ships
- Each cruiser can house 3 ships of 4 different types in the docking bay. Because there are only 3 ships, there can only be
- 3 pilots per team.
