  2.
  3. >Ok, you got this.
  4. >Anon had said that he had something special planned, but he wouldn't tell you any more than that.
  5. >What the hell was he planning?
  6. >It was driving you up a wall.
  7. >And his timing!
  8. >You were getting ready to start your signature, annual concert.
  9. >The one for Princess Luna.
  10. >
  11. >Every year, you'd do this concert.
  12. >Every year, you'd be just as fucking nervous.
  13. >Anon wasn't helping by telling you he had something planned.
  14. >You'd told him, so long as it doesn't bomb your concert, he was good for whatever.
  15. >
  16. >It's not like you didn't know him.
  17. >The two of you had been working together for a little over four years now.
  18. >Not to mention dating.
  19. >
  20. >Those hands of his.
  21. >Sweet Celestia, those hands.
  22. >He claimed to not be able to use magic, but you were certain he had to be filled with it.
  23. >There was no way his hands should be able to turn you to mush like that.
  24. >
  25. >Didn't matter now though, he was going to do his job as your sound boss.
  26. >He'd never let you down before, and he sure as hell wouldn't now.
  27. >He took extra care and time to prepare for each Lunar concert.
  28. >
  29. >These concerts were special to you.
  30. >You liked Princess Luna.
  31. >She liked your music.
  32. >Every year, you'd manage to bring her a little further out of her shell.
  33. >She needed to socialize more.
  34. >She didn't though, because she was nocturnal.
  35. >
  36. >So, every year, you'd dedicate one night to her.
  37. >Not just any night though, the longest night of the year.
  38. >You'd get the pegasi to save up for a real doozey of a thunderstorm each year.
  39. >
  40. >Why?
  41. >Cause lightning, bitch.
  42.
  43. -------------------
  44.
  45. >The storms really got you in the mood.
  46. >It was like nature was making music.
  47. >
  48. >You'd prepared a doozey of a concert this year.
  49. >Somehow, Anon had managed to sell out the entire fucking auditorium.
  50. >How?
  51. >Who the fuck knows.
  52. >
  53. >Each year he would have an idea on how to make that concert special.
  54. >The second year, he'd gotten up on stage with you and danced through one of your songs with you.
  55. >
  56. >The crowd went fucking wild.
  57. >Of course you weren't told about it, so you were a teeny tiny bit pissed.
  58. >
  59. >Until he started dancing with you.
  60. >You couldn't stay mad at his goofy self while he was dancing.
  61. >He'd taken you by surprise, just like the first time he met you.
  62. >
  63. >Well, time to focus now.
  64. >You've got quite a bit to do over the next couple hours.
  65. >
  66. >Your mind was racing to full on fucking overdrive.
  67. >Tonight was going to be good, you could feel it.
  68. >It was in the air.
  69. >It was in the music you were making.
  70. >It was in your damn beat.
  71. >
  72. >
  73. >
  74. >Time seemed to speed the fuck by, and before you knew it, the auditorium was filling up with your late-night audience.
  75. >God, it was scary.
  76. >The auditorium was completely packed.
  77. >Sooo many ponies.
  78. >You'd allowed the cap to be upped by a couple hundred ponies, at Anon's request.
  79. >He was planning something big.
  80. >Why else would he mess with you like this?
  81. >"Vinyl? Stage in five."
  82. >Shit.
  83. >Time to 'man the fuck up' as Anon would put it.
  84. >You donned your goggles.
  85. >Aaahh, it was good to have the goggles back where they belonged.
  86. >Time to get this gig going.
  87.
  88. -------------------
  89.
  90. >The lights shut off.
  91. >It didn't affect you one bit, because your goggles showed you sound, not light.
  92. >You snuck out on stage, and started the fucking party.
  93. >Instantly, your nervousness left you.
  94. >You let a few of your new songs you'd whipped up go on.
  95. >You'd set aside some old songs for later.
  96. >And a couple new ones.
  97. >The light show started.
  98. >You didn't see the lights, but you saw the small amounts of sound they made when they'd turn on and off.
  99. >
  100. >Almost an hour later, you were still going at it.
  101. >That is, until the music stopped.
  102. >You took your goggles off, and looked around for Anon.
  103. >You saw him running around franticly.
  104. >This wasn't good.
  105. >No, it was a disaster.
  106. >Why'd he have to fuck up on the Lunar rave?
  107. >He stepped up on stage, and flicked his headset to another channel.
  108. >His voice boomed out over the speakers shortly after.
  109. >"Fillies and Gentlecolts, we are experiencing technical difficulties; please stand by."
  110. >He ran off back stage again.
  111. >He just fucking left you there.
  112. >With what, 'technical difficulties?'
  113. >What the fuck?
  114. >
  115. >A few seconds later, the music started back up.
  116. >But, it wasn't the song you were playing earlier.
  117. >No, it was a song that only one other living creature had heard.
  118. >
  119. >You could feel your rage building.
  120. >He was so fucking dead.
  121. >
  122. >All the stage lights turned on at once, and they all swiveled to focus on you.
  123. >What the hell?
  124. >This wasn't part of the show!
  125. >
  126. >You turned around to find Anon and started planning out where to hide his body.
  127. >Before you could finish your thought though, you were staring at Anon.
  128. >He was on stage.
  129. >
  130. >And kneeling.
  131.
  132. -------------------
  133.
  134. "A-Anon... What are you doing?" you whispered to him.
  135. >He fiddled with the channel dial on his headset, and turned it on.
  136. >His voice boomed out over the speakers, for everypony and Luna to hear.
  137. >"Vinyl Scratch."
  138. >Oh shit.
  139. >He pulled out a box.
  140. >A black box.
  141. >Your heart stopped.
  142. >He looked you square in the eyes.
  143. >"Will you marry me?"
  144. >He opened the box.
  145. >Inside, was a beautiful, brushed steel version of your cutie mark.
  146. >It was attached to a series of threaded rubies as red as... your eyes.
  147. >Four rubies on each side, each increasing in size until they met at where your cutie mark hung.
  148. >All held together by a slim silver chain.
  149. >The music had stopped again.
  150. >The auditorium was dead silent.
  151. >All eyes were on the two of you.
  152. >Not to mention the lights.
  153. >
  154. >
  155. >"Vinyl?"
  156. >You hadn’t realized that you'd been quite for so long.
  157. >In reality, it was only maybe a minute; but to you, it was eternity.
  158. >He started to close the box, and lowered his head.
  159. >
  160. >You put your hoof on him and he froze.
  161. >Using your magic, you took the necklace out of the box, and fastened it around your neck.
  162. >Instead of answering him, you hopped up on your back hooves, and kissed him.
  163. >Right there, right then, with everypony and Luna as witnesses.
  164. >You leaned in and whispered into his mike.
  165. "Yes. On one condition."
  166. >He looked up at you.
  167. >"Anything."
  168. >You paused for a minute.
  169. >
  170. "Let's drop this beat."
