Barbara

The opaque clouds moved calmly, but sluggishly, across the sky
As the colors faded to a gloomy gray, blue became no more.
The sun peeked through the clouds,
Leaving a few rays to grace Earth with its warm golden glow.

Butterflies fluttered with excitement in the pit of my stomach,
As I watched the beauty of nature take its course.
The light breeze tousled my hair, tickling my eyelids gently.
The leaves were stirring in the air, picked up by the tranquil breeze;
I couldn't have been more relaxed.

A sudden gust of wind made me shield my face,
And on the horizon, I saw a shadow,
Where the sky and the earth kissed and embraced,
The brightness of the buttery sunlight fully exposed itself,
And I could clearly see who she was.

I looked, and the transparent figure of Barbara was all I could see.
I could feel tears swelling in my eyes, covering my mouth in a state of shock.
Barbara smiled, and I could feel each heartbeat pounding in my chest.
And like an echo of the voice I knew so well,
"I love you."
