  55. ...and emotions. because, it reminds the trip of Ulisses in the world of shadows,it is a reference to the Irish folklore and reminds the price of forbidden desires. dark - almost Gothic-, seductive for details and for the use of conventions, it is a love story . touching, poem of grief and hope and determination and magic. the result - one of animations who preserves you under its spell from first scene to the last. being special, against any critic. because it use one of the most frighting fears in admirable manner.

Being quite a big fan of Katie McGrath and after falling in love with Ireland and it&#39;s folklore after spending my first vacation there, i simply had to watch this animated short movie by default as soon as i heard about it&#39;s existence.<br/><br/>The story itself is quite simple, but very well executed for it&#39;s short running time. A mourning young woman forces a Banshee, a harbinger of death, to bring back her loved one, but pays a terrible price. The art is dark, but has a inherent beauty that reminds a bit of something Tim Burton would do. And while the animation and design of the human characters isn&#39;t perfect, the background, atmosphere and of course the Banshee herself make more than up for it. The music fits beautifully and gives you a sense of sadness,garnished with a glimmer of magic. The voice acting by Katie McGrath, despite the fact that there isn&#39;t much dialogue anyway, leaves nothing to be desired. The different languages for the two main characters, the woman and the banshee, may play their part in this, but i wouldn&#39;t have guessed that both were voiced by the same person. She expresses the grief of the woman and the entirely different character of the Banshee equally well. And while you could have probably done the short without any dialogue at all, it works really good.<br/><br/>All in all, i have to compliment the makers of this tragically romantic short for doing a really great job that leaves you with a bit of sadness.
