- In simple terms, you track the IGT so you can:
- - Always manipulate a perfect Nido
- - Manipulate a Pidgeotto for experience instead of a slow Bug Catcher
- - Always manipulate a Pidgey
- - Manipulate a perfect or near-perfect fight against the last Bug Catcher in the forest
- - Manipulate 0 useless forest encounters
- Details:
- - Win Rival 1 fight; check Pikachu stats
- - IGT track through Viridian Forest
- - Nido manip:
- > Hit a 3-4 frame IGT window
- > Always FFEF
- > Minimal cost
- > Ideally minimal difficulty, but prioritize stats and cost
- - Extend Nido manip into Viridian Forest
- > Observe NPCs to see which IGT frame and nickname frame you hit (15+ patterns)
- > Each pattern (and possibly each Pikachu Defense value) should correspond to a Pidgeotto manip
- - Pidgeotto manip:
- > Cut through post-BC1 grass on as many patterns as you can
- > Minimal encounter chances to BC2
- > Turn 1 must be Gust into TS paralysis; turn 2 manips will vary (and might be too difficult to execute consistently)
- - Fight BC2 normally
- - Pidgey manip:
- > Hit a 3-4 frame IGT window
- > One for green bar, one for yellow/red bar
- > Minimal cost
- > Ideally minimal difficulty
- - Extend Pidgey manip into BC3 fight
- > Hit a 3-4 frame window for the end text box
- > Manip the fight so it is always 3 turns (sometimes 2) and String Shot never hits
- - Extend Pidgey/BC3 manip into encounterless final stretch of forest
- > This will likely have more branches than any other manip, and execution will be difficult
