Discord is an application that was Initially released on May 13, 2015. There are currently 250 million registered users on Discord with 14 million on the app daily. Discord was originally an app made to bring gamers together, but over the years not only has it accomplished that but it has made millions of friendships from across the globe and has been a sanctuary for many. Discord has managed to take down massive chatting apps such as Skype, TeamSpeak, and many more. People often compare Discord to a “Skype for gamers,” but it is so much more than that. It’s a place for people to come home from work or school and relax, a place for people to forget about their stress and just talk. 315 million messages are sent per day, not to mention the people who speak in voice chats instead of texting. People are always socializing or talking on this app and discord makes it fun and simple. Servers are well organized and chats don’t make clutter. People love Discord. I have met so many people through this app and I have seen many relationships arise from it too. I used to get home from school every day excited to jump on a call with my friends and play something like Minecraft, or LoL, or even small browser games such as Skribbl.io or Cards against Humanity. Servers that are considered small have around 200-300 people active every day. This app has done such a good job of getting people together and I think it needs to be noticed. I’m submitting this for hack week, but I really just want to say thanks discord. I've been a user of this app for 3 years now and I'm so happy to have seen it come this far.
