- I rubbed my eyes in confusion. "No... That can't be right..." I muttered quietly. It has to be some sort of misunderstanding. After all, I just recently got these powers. Maybe there's something more to them that I do not understand yet?
- But, up until this point, those powers have been nothing but accurate. Complete strangers had single-digits while my closest friends had their numbers reach the hundreds of thousands. And no matter how large the number was, it was always a finite one. Why was this person an exception?
- I started feeling nervous as more inquiries started popping into my head. If this person has an infinite number, does that mean they're immortal? Does it mean that I am immortal too, as I'm destined to see him continuously until the end of time?
- I started sweating profusely. I had so many questions yet so little answers about this mystery person.
- Suddenly, I felt someone tapping my right shoulder from behind. "Excuse me, ma'am?" I spun around to see who it was.
- It was him! It was the guy! I slapped his hand away and screamed in his face. "Get away from me you creep!" I turned around and started running away from him, with terror filling every inch in my body. He froze in place, shocked from such a hostile reaction.
- The people roaming in the crowded streets shot confused looks in my direction, but I ignored them and continued running. I dashed into a nearby hotel and into the closest ladies restroom. That weirdo can't follow me there.
- I leaned against the door and put my hand to my chest. I was breathing so quickly from the fear and exhaustion. I rummaged through my handbag frantically. "Crap. It's not there." I whispered nervously. "Out of all the possible times to forget my pills, I forget them now. Typical."
- I took some mint-flavored gum from my purse as a substitute, put four of them in my mouth, and started chewing anxiously. They helped calm me down a little, but the lingering paranoia was still there.
- I stood against the door for a solid five minutes before swallowing the gum. I never understood why people spat gum out. I took another deep breath, pulled the door open and walked out. As I did, I bumped into something. I looked up to see what I had hit, and it was the guy again.
- "I'm so sorry for scaring you..." He spoke in a frantic voice. "... I came over to apologize to you."
- I stared at him for a few seconds, my initial fear melting away from this act of kindness. "No, no. I'm the one who should apologize." I replied. "I've... Recently had a lot on my mind, and... the smallest things... can make me go bonkers."
- He chuckled in a charming manner. "Haha, I totally get that. My younger brother can sometimes be like that too. As soon as someone touches his phone, he hisses and tells them to go away."
- "Haha, yeah I can only imagine how that would look like." I spoke while looking sideways. I turn my focus back to him and asked. "So... what did you originally want to talk to me about? Y'know... Before I did what I did?"
- His eyes lit up, almost like he was waiting for me to ask that specific question. He grabbed my hands. "Do you believe in love at first sight? I haven't until I met you." I blushed slightly and he continued. "If you want, I'd like to get to know you a little better... over a drink or two."
- I wasn't sure what to say. I looked at the infinity symbol floating above his head, still unsure of what it means. "Am I... fated to date him?" I theorized. "He does seem like a swell guy... But that symbol, that one single symbol, makes me feel an indescribable amount of uncertainty." I sighed.
- "Yeah, that sounds lovely... Wanna go out this Friday at eight? Let's meetup in front of this hotel." I replied to his invitation.
- "Perfect." He responded. "I can't wait. I feel like I could spend an eternity just standing by your side."
- I chuckled. If only you knew.
