  1. Eva (10/1/2010 9:35:26 PM): "Holding the Queen's favor is never a bad thing. Besides, it'll give us something to do. Unless this is too much for you? You'd rather stay in the house?"
  2. shantishanthi@rocketmail.com (10/1/2010 9:37:02 PM): "Ah, I was simply unaware that the queen was willing to bow to another queen. But if you wish to scrape and curry favor, then I suppose I'll accompany you to make sure you don't make a fool of yourself."
  3. Eva (10/1/2010 9:42:19 PM): "My pride is not so frail as to break because of something so simple as 'bowing.' Besides, there's a different kind of pride to be taken from helping our... God-appointed leader. Honestly, do people really believe this crock of sh-- Ugh, imbeciles..."
  4. Eva (10/1/2010 9:43:29 PM): "Don't feel obliged to believe in the group's ideals or to show some passion for their cause. Just do as you're told and we'll get something of value out of it. And, again, it could be fun."
  5. shantishanthi@rocketmail.com (10/1/2010 9:48:27 PM): *laughs softly* Believe what? The existence of God or that the queen was appointed by Him?"
  6. Eva (10/1/2010 9:49:26 PM): "...Both."
  7. shantishanthi@rocketmail.com (10/1/2010 9:56:52 PM): "Humans believe there is a God because the alternative is more frightening than even His wrath. And the fear of God makes men meek and obedient. I wouldn't call worshiping Him stupidity. Weakness, perhaps..." *trails off, seeming to think about it*
  8. Eva (10/1/2010 10:05:55 PM): "Weakness *and* stupidity. Why else would they go out on their little crusades? Risking life and limb for something they're not even sure of." She closes her eyes for a moment, "Speaking of stupidity, there's a Me-- Melon? There's some fruit throwing a ball and I've been invited... We have something planned, don't we?"
  9. shantishanthi@rocketmail.com (10/1/2010 10:11:40 PM): "The people who start crusades are anything but unsure of the existence of God. How could there not be a God when there are demons tormenting them at all times? But~ we'll leave that thought for another time. A ball thrown by a... melon, you said?" She pulls out her appointment book. "Well... we might have had something planned that day, but I'm sure I could make room for such a spectacle."
  10. shantishanthi@rocketmail.com (10/1/2010 10:11:49 PM): "It sounds like an interesting affair, for once."
  11. Eva (10/1/2010 10:14:50 PM): "Oh, no no no. If there's something scheduled for that day, then we can't go. Simple as that. "She smiled faintly, before muttering, "Uncle Robert will have to go himself. Lucky him."
  12. shantishanthi@rocketmail.com (10/1/2010 10:18:08 PM): She smiles too, still flipping through the book. "Oh, no, it wouldn't do for you to not make an impression on the up and coming fruits of the world. It's an opportunity you might never get again... Ah, here. You have a couple hours free in the late afternoon on that day. Perfect, I'll let the carriageman know to be ready and waiting."
  13. Eva (10/1/2010 10:26:16 PM): "Fruits of the--" She promptly took of her glasses and squeezed the bridge of her nose, her eyes closed. "Just a couple of hours? If it's just two hours, there's not much one can do. So why go at all?"
  14. shantishanthi@rocketmail.com (10/1/2010 10:35:09 PM): She gives her a patient, long suffering look. "Closer to three. And are you saying that you can't make /some/ kind of impression on a group of vapid aristocrats over the course of several hours? You must be astoundingly boring... I mean, I knew that already, but I assumed you had some get up and go in you, considering earlier you were wanting to have fun and telling /me/ to get out of the house."
  15. Eva (10/1/2010 10:41:38 PM): Chuckles a bit, placing her glasses back on, "Have you ever been to one of these things? If you did, maybe you'd see the difference between that type of 'fun' and the fun I talked about earlier."
  16. shantishanthi@rocketmail.com (10/1/2010 10:43:23 PM): She shrugs. "What was it that you said before? Find a way to make it fun. A ball run by a melon is bound to have some potential to be interesting."
  17. Eva (10/1/2010 10:48:22 PM): "Well, I'll leave that to you, then." She took a cigarillo and smiled before lighting it, "I hope you can come up with something to match the old war stories and hunting shenanigans they'll swarm us with." She took a drag of the cig and sat, her voice monotone "Yes, sounds promising now."
  18. shantishanthi@rocketmail.com (10/1/2010 10:51:56 PM): She takes the paper with the information about the ball and looks it over. Her lips twitch slightly as she reads. "I wouldn't discount it so easily. It could prove to be more interesting than you think. The host is... a character in herself."
  19. Eva (10/1/2010 10:57:56 PM): "Are *you* interested?" She sat back and relaxed, closing her eyes, "What about the melon? Is *she* the interesting part of the ball? Why? I'll admit I'm curious about how she came by that name..."
  20. shantishanthi@rocketmail.com (10/1/2010 11:00:26 PM): ((Just a moment, lemme send this paper.))
  21. shantishanthi@rocketmail.com (10/1/2010 11:00:48 PM): ((By the way, we should totally use this as a header before we jump in the thread. ))
  22. Eva (10/1/2010 11:01:13 PM): ((Yuss. That's my direction |D))
  23. shantishanthi@rocketmail.com (10/1/2010 11:05:51 PM): She taps the letter to her chin thoughtfully. "Am I interested? Just a bit. The last name seems familiar. I think I've met the girl in passing once. As I said, she's a... character and should be entertaining to watch, if she is indeed the one running the ball."
  24. shantishanthi@rocketmail.com (10/1/2010 11:07:57 PM): ((Melony ignored me again, I said I had some questions for her when I posted in the cbox))
  25. Eva (10/1/2010 11:08:59 PM): ((I noticed. All the did was mention homecoming and bailed xD))
  26. shantishanthi@rocketmail.com (10/1/2010 11:09:04 PM): (V))
  27. Eva (10/1/2010 11:10:23 PM): ((Hey, if you weren't going to talk about homecoming and your cute dress, yeah, she wasn't interested tonight :V))
  28. shantishanthi@rocketmail.com (10/1/2010 11:10:30 PM): ((pfft, I guess not.))
  29. Eva (10/1/2010 11:15:10 PM): She kept her eyes closed, but her voice was a tad more serious now. "Do you think this may end up being relevant to... our interests, if we choose to act on the earlier topic?"
  30. shantishanthi@rocketmail.com (10/1/2010 11:20:09 PM): She sits down opposite her at the table. "Our earlier topic being serving the queen? It could. Those in the service of Her Majesty are everywhere, if the ball is a large enough gathering, it could be an opportunity to meet some of those sorts and gain favor with them."
  31. Eva (10/1/2010 11:34:46 PM): She groans softly before opening her eyes. She's quiet for a few second, during which she stares at Bijoux before speaking, "Fine. Make the necessary arrangements. Just... be ready." She took another drag of her cigarillo before tilting her head to the side, smiling, "Boring old men, aristocratic brats, royal whims... From now on, those could be our daily bread."
  32. shantishanthi@rocketmail.com (10/1/2010 11:38:43 PM): Her smile grows a bit and she nods to the woman. "As you wish." With a soft, indulgent laugh at her last comment, she excuses herself from the room.
  33. Eva (10/1/2010 11:43:23 PM): "...And again, I feel I've been led to the slaughter house," She chuckles softly, taking today's paper. How many paper planes could she make before all her fingers get smudged? "Mm. First plane, Victoria. Here's to you, 'Majesty'."
