Similar conclusion has been made by Shepherd (2014). Shepherd showd that difference in CMIP5 model circulation response leads to difference in surface winds. In figure C8 we have shown 850hPa surface wind response for winter time, similar way as shown in fig. 4 in a paper by Shepherd (2014).
