  1. History
  2.
  3. Once upon a time, there was a land called “_____________”. It was filled with many things, and many races. Everything was peaceful. The elves watched over the sky, fayries roamed the forests, dwarves aided the earth, and humans roamed everywhere, in peace. All was well. That is….. till the emotion called greed took over. It had started with the elves. Powered by the want for MORE, they attacked everyone, to conquer, to take. Others soon followed. At first they sought to take what was taken from them, but after a while, they found themselves also wanting for more, wanting more of everything. Greed was the driving component of the world now.
  4.
  5. Wars raged in the lands, everyone wanting to have a bit more of this, and a bit more of that. It no longer rained water, it rained blood. No songs were found, only wails and cries of lost ones. Happiness was lost in midst of sadness. Yet, no one ended the wars. They tried to cover the cries, the sadness, with more THINGS. The war ended with an unlikely winner. The humans. They were the weaker ones, almost to extinction, with no special powers save for few, and even those few sided with the others. How had they won? HOW??
  6.
  7. Imagination. It had become reality. The humans needed to be able to look up to something. To be able to hope, to dream. They had created gods.
  8.
  9. The gods were perfect. Two girls, each with grace and beau. They answered their creator’s wishes, using their divine power to destroy, or chase away the other races. The humans praised them and worshipped them. The girls were the perfect gods for the humans. They were immortal…. and immoral.
  10.
  11. Slowly, the gods began to corrupt, to go mad with all the emotions that humans brought to their attention. Jealousy, hatred, greed, revenge encircled their daily lives. With no war to occupy them, the gods became annoyed and bored with the requests they were pleaded to do. They began to not respond, to ignore the humans, and searched for their own amusements.
  12.
  13. Slowly the humans began to forget them, and the old races began to come back. This time, there were new races amongst the old races that once roamed “_________________”. For certain reasons, perhaps from instinctual remembrance of the wars, the humans and the other races kept peace.
  14.
  15. The gods are back. But they’re not the same. They are twisted, mad and irrational. They have absolute power over you. To them, you are merely a chess piece.

  58. What is Ludus Deorum?
  59.
  60. Ludus Deorum is a game based RP group. It’s centered around in an academy called Ludus Deorum (Located at _______) with two gods “playing chess” with real people.
  61.
  62. Night and day
  63. In this group, the RP is divided up into two parts. There is a day and the night sector. During the day, it will be like regular academy(of course, there shall be SOME quirks), and the night is where all the game occurs besides passive information collecting. Look at DAY for more information on the day sector and the rest of the FAQ is pretty much about the night sector.
  64.
  65. How does the game work?
  66. Simple, the students are the chess pieces. But of course, since there may be more than 32 members, there will be innocent regular students. The chess pieces don’t know each other, and they don’t know who’s a chess piece or not. Each member has sets of abilities that are activated when they are a certain chess piece. The goal of the game is to kill all the chess pieces or kill the king. After one set of games are over new game starts.
  67.
  68. During the game, there will be territories. To kill a character, they have to be within your territory. Territories can be claimed, protected, or stolen. The only safe zones, where no killings are allowed, are the dorms.
  69.
  70. Do the characters really “die”?
  71. And yes, the characters really do technically “die”. They are sent to a limbo where the “dead” members can RP with each other. But, after a game is over, a new game starts and they are revived, with no memories at day, or if you are a regular student.
  72.
  73. How do you “kill” a character?
  74. There are certain conditions that need to be filled to kill a character. Some of those are:
  75. 1. It has to be in your side’s territory.
  76. 2. You must outnumber the opponent, or be ONE rank higher at least; or the attacker dies/suffers severe injuries
  77. 3. All deaths must be a result from a action during nighttime(i.e. Poisoning at night and if a chara drinks it at day, fair kill; but if someone stabs someone else without reason on daytime, PENALTY*)
  78.
  79. *Look at PENALTY Section
  80.
  81. Can a regular student get killed?
  82. Yes, But if a chess piece kills 2 normal students, they die. This is to prevent to prevent a player from killing everyone and hoping that they're a chess member.
  83.
  84. Are weapons allowed?
  85. Anything you can find in a regular Academy, you can use. But otherwise, all weapons go under Abilities.
  86.
  87. Abilities:
  88.
  89. When creating a character, there needs to be 5 unlocked abilities.
  90.
  91. Kings: Allowed to use [One] of the five abilities + Ability to know who the knights are
  92. Queens: Allowed to use [Five] of the five abilities + Can communicate TWICE with a dead chess piece.
  93. Rooks: Allowed to use [Four] of the five abilities + Can sacrifice itself for the king ONCE

  96. Pawns: Allowed to use [One] of the five abilities + Can be promoted to queen if they meet qualifications (Must have killed 3 of the opposing chess pieces and the queen must be dead).
  97.
  98. Day
  99. At night, Ludus Deorum is a playground for chess of the gods, however, at day, Ludus Deorum is simply an Academy for geniuses. It does not matter what you’re a genius at tying shoelaces or a genius at politics. As long you have above and beyond talent, you are welcome to the school.
