  2. Future of “Biohacking”
  3. To understand the future of “biohacking” one must first understand what exactly “biohacking” is. Biohacking is the use and implementation of technology within a human to better their everyday needs. This of course doesn’t mean going full on cyborg, but like small things like microchips.
  4. Moving forward, then. Biohacking is only a recent development mostly taking in the form of opening doors to eliminate the number of keys person would have to carry around with them. Consequently, the cost of producing keys would be eliminated since RFID tags are programmable and can correspond with locks. So metal prices would go down.
  5. Biohacking doesn’t have to apply to JUST keys and locks though. It’s been noted that you could obtain a 6th sense by simply implanting a magnet into your pinkie to feel magnetic fields! It could very much be a life saver in a survival situation.
  6. Being sold right now on Dangerousthings.com are kits of self injecting xNT tags for only $95.99 So it’s relatively cheap and easy to use for those that know what they're doing.
  7. Of course, biohacking is not for everyone. For example the elderly won't really have much use for biohacking rather than a standard pacemaker. The elderly I believe would have a hard time conforming from the old “Lock-and-Key” like thinking to a Chip and interface thinking.
  8. However, for the younger generation, such as myself, we're always on the run and don't have time to pull out a key chain, fumble with the keys, trying EVERY SINGLE ONE before finally getting the right one.(Graafstra) None of that, it's simply: Put your hand on a receiver and make your transaction, or open your door, or whatever you need to do.
  9. In the future. I'm almost certain we will evolve biohacking further. We have already cured deafness by using magnets in the ear to stimulate bone marrow to act as “hearing aids” but invisible. Colorblindness was cured as well thanks to the implementation of an antenna people can now “hear color” (Harbisson).
  10. Like most things, everything can eventually be hacked. So if we were to conform into the RFID lock interface, we’ll have to beef up security so break-ins aren’t as common. However, seeing as we’ve come thus far with cyber advancements. It really shouldn’t be too big of an issue.
