  8. Bremmyn was born in the slums of the Free City. His parents were beggars, and income was low. The gutters and alleys they lived in were ran by a small gang who prized information and skilled thieves above all else, and people who could get them what they wanted had a door to a life above the disease-infested slums. As he grew, so did his dissatisfaction with his situation. He began to make himself useful to the local gang lord, learning how to steal and eavesdrop for information. He made little headway at first, the gang had no use for simple rumors, fruit, or clothes. Bremmyn was unfazed and simply continued his work, honing his skills and seeking out larger and larger prizes. By the time he was fourteen, he could sneak past a full guard patrol and into a merchant's backdoor to pick the finest wares and rumors he could find. He was well on his way into the gang.

  10. It was not to be. When he was fifteen he returned from an exceptionally bounteous run to find a bloodbath in his alley system. The corpses of beggars and street urchins and gang members lay about each other, mixed with the rats, filth, and blood on the ground. He never found out if his parents had been among them, he had forgotten their faces years ago. He had little care for mere beggars, and it was easier to steal for one mouth than three. He continued on, looking for answers, sneaking through the blood-soaked gutters until he spotted three tiefling, all bearing the mark of the local gang, stabbing the corpse of the man who should have been leading them. One spotted him, and he ran, faster than he had ever ran before. He cursed them for stealing his future away, cursed himself for being born into misery. He finally hid himself under a street merchant's stall and waited.

  12. He later learned their had been a coup in the group, led by a small-time devil who wanted to make it big. He had persuaded and enchanted other members to fall in line with him, but the coup was poorly executed, and both leaders ended up dying with the majority of their followers.
  13.
  14. As the years passed, he went from being a street thief to bounty work. Killing was not new to him by this point, he had murdered more than a few people growing up for their money, food, and clothes. His work had him hunt down people from all walks of life in the Free City, and even took him outside of it to the Merendisse, Mytea, and the Drakenbergen at points. He hunted criminals, politicians, merchants, anyone who ended up with a bounty was fair game in his eyes, but he always had a special place in his heart for killing devil-kin, and would take such jobs gleefully. It was on one of these jobs that he met Hanswell, Though competing hunters at the time, the two had a common dislike for devil-kin and found themselves working well together, and even enjoying each other's company. They ran into each other again and again in their work, and eventually decided to partner up. Hanswell is the only person Bremmyn can say he trusts farther than he can throw him.
