There have been pots at the ends of rainbows for many a century. They had been placed there by the beings us humans have code-named "Leprechauns" as they were told of "The Prophecy of the Ibis and the Pieguy"

This prophecy foretold that a young crested ibis [whom everyone loved to pet] would meet a guyofpie, that for whatever reason REFUSED to pet her.

These leprechauns, even as they were small children, worked hard and extensively to gather all of their kinds gold to put into pots, for it was said that if pots full of gold were set at the end of every rainbow on this planet, it would regulate the tremendous earth tremors from when the aforementioned pieguy learns of this ibis and starts to refuse to pet her.

Many a leprechaun lost their lives slaving away to bring back their gold, but these leprechauns knew it was for the good of all the living creatures on Earth that this had to happen. They were proud of all the hard work that was done.
