Dirk and Vanessa

You are Dirk, a rogue living in the kingdom of Larion. You have a long steel dagger and a length of rope. You walk down the city street looking for somehwere to steal from. You look around and see nothing that looks worth stealing.

Suddenly you hear a noise behind you. You turn around and see a large group of men with guns pointing at you. They point their rifles at you and say

> You put your hands up.


"I'm sorry sirs, but I don't think we have anything here".

The men take you into custody and throw you in jail. While you're there, they tell you that if you ever get out of this cell, you will be shot on sight

> You look around.


You look around and see no one watching you and decide to go back to your cell. The guards let you out and you return to your room where you spend the rest of the night thinking about what just happened

> You plan your escape.


You wake up the next morning feeling very hungry so you head down to the kitchen for some food. When you enter the kitchen, you find it empty save for a few barrels of meat hanging from the ceiling. You quickly grab as much as you can before the guards come looking for you

> You hide from guards.


You run back to your cell and hide behind the bars. You hear the door open and close and then another door opens and closes. You wait until the guards leave and then you slip out the window and make your way to the nearest forest.

> You hide in the forest.


You walk through the forest for hours until you finally reach a clearing. You lie down on the ground and try to sleep. Suddenly you feel something press against your back. It's a sharp object! You turn over and see a man with a knife pressing against your back

> You surrender.


You drop to your knees and drop to your hands and knees. You plead with him not to kill you and beg him to spare your life. He tells you he is going to kill you anyway and that you better give yourself up or else you'll be killed too.

> You fight back.


You struggle with the man and manage to stab him several times. He falls backwards onto his face and you continue stabbing him repeatedly. He screams in pain and begs you to stop. You do so and he runs off. You crawl away from the bloody mess and sit down to recover

> You treat your wounds.


You lay down on the grass and begin to clean your wounds. You feel like you should be dead right now but somehow you aren't. This isn't how you thought things were going to end up. You sit up and realize that you've been stabbed in the stomach

> You look at stomach.


You look at your wound and notice that you've lost a lot of blood. You call out to someone who could help you but nobody comes to help you. You stand up and stagger towards the woods where you hope to find help. You stumble upon a group of bandits who watch you approach

> You ask bandits for help.


You raise your hand and say "Help me!" They all laugh and say "What do you want?" You reply "I need help getting my wound looked after". They laugh again and say

> You continue.


They laugh even more and say "Well, maybe later, but first we need to talk". They lead you to a small cabin and knock on the door. A young woman answers the door and asks "Who are you?"

> You introduce yourself to woman.


You answer "My name is Dirk, I was attacked by these men last night and I need your help". She says "Oh? Well, I guess you really are desperate then. What do you need help with?"

> You ask woman to heal your stomach wound.


She smiles and says "Sure thing, I'll get to it". She goes inside and returns an hour later with a large bandage wrapped around your stomach. You thank her profusely and she thanks you back and leaves. You sit down and examine your wound

> You look around.


You stare at your wound and wonder why you didn't die when you were attacked. Then you remember that you're still alive. Maybe you did survive because you managed to survive your attack. You decide to keep your wound a secret and pretend nothing had happened.

> You follow woman.


You follow the woman home and eventually you arrive at her house. She leads you upstairs and shows you to a bedroom. Inside lies a bed covered in white sheets and a dresser with a quilt on top. She tells you to take a seat and sits beside you

> You look at woman.


You look at the woman and notice that she has long black hair and wears a red dress. She looks familiar and you recognize her immediately. She is Vanessa. You sit down across from her and she sits across from you.

> You thank Vanessa for saving your life.


You thank Vanessa and she replies "Of course, I am glad to help you. I must admit though, I was surprised to see you here. You must be new to the area".

> You flirt with Vanessa.

You move closer to Vanessa and start talking to her.

You spend the day with Vanessa and the following days with her. Eventually you and she becomes pregnant. You tell her that...


> You ask Vanessa to marry you.


Vanessa: "Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes"The baby will be mine.

> You marry Vanessa.


Vanessa: "Very well, yes".

> You live happily ever after with Vanessa.


You wake up one morning and Vanessa is gone. You search everywhere for her but can't find her anywhere. You go outside and look for her but she is nowhere to be found. You cry and scream for her but there is no sign of her either

> You ask bandits for help.


You run into a nearby forest and try to ask the bandits if they know anything about Vanessa. One of them points to a tree and says "There's her, she's hiding behind that tree". You rush over to the tree and climb up it

> You look for Vanessa.


You climb up the tree and look through the branches for Vanessa. You look through the branches until you spot her. She is sitting on a rock and looking out at the ocean. You jump down from the tree and grab her and kiss her passionately before running back to the tree

> You ask Vanessa why she left.


Vanessa: "I'm sorry, I just wanted to get away from you".

> You oh.


You sigh and say "It's okay, I understand. Let's forget about this".

> You ask Vanessa if she still wants to get married.


Vanessa: "No, not yet. I've got some things to sort out first".

> You let Vanessa sort things out.


You smile and say "Okay, I think we should work on that now".

> You go to couples therapy with Vanessa.


You go to couples therapy with Vanessa. She is very talkative and explains everything to you. It turns out that she has been having an affair with another man since she met you. She reveals that he is a thief and a murderer. He killed her parents and stole all their money

> You ask his name.


Vanessa: "His name is Jack, he's a thief".

> You look for Jack.


You head to Jack's hideout and find him being tortured by several men. They beat him mercilessly and threaten to kill him if he doesn't give them all the information he knows about Vanessa. He refuses and tells you that he isn't going to give them any information

> You watch them kill Jack.


Jack screams as he is beaten to death. You run over to him and put your hand over his mouth so he can't scream out. The men laugh and leave you alone with Vanessa who is upset and crying

> You talk to Vanessa.


Vanessa: "What happened?"

> You tell Vanessa Jack is dead.


Vanessa: "Oh my god! What did you do? How could you kill Jack?!"

> You tell Vanessa you didn't kill him.


Vanessa: "That's impossible! You're not a killer!"

> You ask Vanessa if she's okay.


Vanessa: "Yeah, I'm fine, I was just sad because I thought you were leaving me".

> You ask Vanessa if she wants to get married now.


Vanessa: "Of course, of course".

> You marry Vanessa.


You and Vanessa are married and live happily ever after.

Years pass and eventually you die. You don't remember much about your life before
 then except that you had a daughter named Vanessa.
One day Vanessa comes home and finds you dead on the floor. She cries and runs
 to the door
