# Verified User Program

r/Epidemiology has established a system for verifying the credentials of users posting within our community, similar to what users of r/Science might be familiar with. This program is in place to help users quickly filter through contributions made by other users to help in critically evaluating their claims and assertions.

## Examples of Flair

Flair is available for users who have achieved a certain level of education in a relevant field or are in the process acquiring their degrees. Examples of relevant disciplines include, but are not limited to: epidemiology, public health, biology, math, statistics, sociology, and more.

User flair will be formatted as Level of Education | Discipline | Sub-Discipline.

## Applying for Flair

### Professionals

Email {EMAIL GOES HERE} with a picture of any information that verifies your credentials. This can include a picture of your diploma or some other form of identification that establishes your legitimacy. Please keep in mind that whichever form of proof you provide it must also tie in your username somewhere within the image.

### Students

Email {EMAIL GOES HERE} with a picture of any information that verifies your enrollment in a relevant progra. This can include a picture of your transcript or some other form of identification that establishes your legitimacy. Please keep in mind that whichever form of proof you provide it must also tie in your username somewhere within the image.

### Confidentiality

Access to {EMAIL GOES HERE} is restricted and any information released to it will be held in the strictest confidence. Emails will be deleted after flair is assigned.

## Expected Conduct

Verified users are expected to adhere to our community’s strictest standards and to act as examples of conduct within our community. Verified users who abuse their flair or do not adhere to our expectations will have their flair removed and further disciplinary action may also be warranted.
