  1. The young man may not have been in a true fight for his life recently, but that didn't make him any less adept at it. Gehennan tribesman got in his way, and were just as quickly rebuffed by a wide cleave of his glaive, an attack to throw them back, to cut open those too close.
  2.
  3. His goal wasn't mindless slaughter, it was simple, to rebuke those that got close and accomplish the objective.
  4.
  5. A goal that grew exponentially harder when he saw one of the chieftains getting close. Katashi swore, kicking off in a blaze of brilliant azure fire, the very force propelling him off the ground, landing like a rocket before Mital.
  6.
  7. "Is this what I must do?" He asked softly, staring, twirling his glaive as he eyed the chieftain and the odd weapon. "I remember you.
  8.
  9. You came to our city, trailing a pack of wild monsters. I remember how young you were, how foolish I imagined you to be. Funny how things can be ruined with but the slightest hint of discord..."
  10.
  11. His face twisted up in anger. "Or were you already doomed?"
  12. (Katashi Vu)
  13.
  14. --------------------
  15.
  16. Off in the distance, the sound of bones wood creaking could be heard.
  17.
  18. Drawing closer and closer, faint winds being felt as if someone were being a bit too overzealous with their wind magic. Yet, what was spotted in the distance wasn't a wind magi, no. It was the Chieftain of Ezmara, swinging away with his oversized weapon at any who dared draw close to him.
  19.
  20. Without regard for their safety after.
  21.
  22. But before long, he's face to face with Katashi. Someone he met long, long ago. Coming to a stop, that might weapon's heaved up onto his shoulder. A single hand reaching up so that a clawed finger could scratch at his cheek,
  23.
  24. "Ah, yes. The enforcer. I remember you." A slight pause, only for those lips of his to curl up into a devious smirk.
  25.
  26. "Doomed? No, you've got it all wrong boy. What I have. No, what we have isn't being 'doomed'. We're just not afraid to take what we want. We're not the kind to kneel to others, just are your spineless people are. Now--"
  27.
  28. Giving another pause, that same hand now motioned Katashi away,
  29.
  30. "Now get out of my way. I'd rather find another who won't just bore me. Unless you wish to fall here. In these woods. And be given an unimpressive death."
  31.
  32. Canting his head ever so slightly to the side, an azure shroud started to emanate forth from his frame, gently wrapping itself around him as if it were a cloak. Only for it to shift, and change. It's color growing brighter and brighter, only for it to suddenly drop into a pitch black. Dark tribal markings making crawling their way up his body to cover it in it's entirety.
  33.
  34. "You are no match for someone like me."
  35. (Mital Vindict)
  36. --------------------
  37.
  38. Katashi Vu says, "I'd like to disagree."
  39.
  40. --------------------
  41. Katashi's fighting style had... Changed recently. Some hidden part of his mana circuits, dormant for so long, had sprung to life. With violent swings of his weapon, more than flames followed, by the unflinching, uncompromising power of gravity.
  42.
  43. "Be silent, Chieftain. You have no blessing that I recognize." The left hand came up, clenching into a fist, mana encircling Mital like so many chains of azure.
  44.
  45. The taste of blood in his mouth, the feeling of his arms shaking from parrying such savage blows... Katashi had missed it.
  46.
  47. "You have no future, either. Without law, without order and harmony, you will extinguish yourselves even if we can't." Katashi dashed in, blade drenched in flames of vibrant blue, all made to purge the wicked.
  48.
  49. "I'm glad you won't have to see your work come to cinders. There's something soul-shattering about losing everything you've worked for because you built it on a foundationof lies."
  50. (Katashi Vu)
  51.
  52. --------------------
  53.
  54. "Just a warm up.. Yes?!"
  55.
  56. Swathed in blue flames, the Chieftain's sent back. Those golden eyes of his growing wider and wider by the second, burns covering his form as smoke seemed to roll off his body as if it were fog.
  57.
  58. "No future?! You think. I? Mital Vindict. Have no future? No, no, no.. You don't understand, boy." Slamming his weapon down into the ground, that grin that was plastered onto his visage throughout only seemed to grow a tad bit wider.
  59.
  60. "My future, my legacy is to become something far greater than you can ever imagine. Something far greater than your way of life could ever bring. Something I'll get for myself, me. On my own. With my own hands..!" Giving a slight pause, his weapon was once again hoisted up as he crouched slightly. Breathing growing more and more ragged as time went on,
  61.
  62. "You. -- No. None of you are anything compared to someone like me."
  63. (Mital Vindict)
  64.
  65. --------------------
  66.
  67. Clash after clash, the Chieftain's actions only grew more sporadic. More animalistic as Ixchel's essence was channeled through his very being. Those fangs that were more than prominent within his mouth jutting out further, claws extending as his weapon was swung once more.
  68.
  69. A heavy, arching swing to send them reeling back.
  70.
  71. "You see?! Nothing!"
  72.
  73. Giving some kind of half laugh-half sigh, the Chieftain's hand waved across the field as he stood up straight, staring down his nose at the other as he spoke.
  74.
  75. "You rats should have listened to our warnings. You should have done as you were told, and dealt with the enemies in the North. But nooo! You have to fight for Order this. Justice that." A scoff, only for him to spit at the ground by his feet,
  76.
  77. "Trash, all of you! Where's your ambitions?! Where's your pride?! Nowhere, you toss it to the side each and every time you bow your head to another."
  78.
  79. "So now here I am, having to put you idiots back in your place.
  80.
  81. Come, boy."
  82. (Mital Vindict)
  83.
  84. --------------------
  85.
  86. Katashi groaned in sympathetic pain as his shield shattered and that unwieldy weapon threw him backwards. He'd be feeling that for awhile, probably coughing up blood from it.
  87.
  88. Eyes closed in the face of the taunting, Katashi pushing himself up. His body righted itself, armor gleaming, flames embroiling around him. Funnily enough, the grassland wasn't seared by those fires, though they were certainly furious to the touch.
  89.
  90. "My ambitions?" He asked, cracking his neck. Vibrant hues glared, burning with the fury of his flames, sparks scorching from the corners.
  91.
  92. "My ambitions are to deal with all of you! There will be no hypocrisy, no choosing one or the other. This entire CONTINENT is plagued, and I'm one of the only people that recognizes it. You, the vampires, the necromancers, the Nethradin so far to the north.
  93.
  94. You want to know my ambitions? They start with ending the blight that is YOU before the cancer becomes inoperable!"
  95. (Katashi Vu)
  96.
  97. --------------------
  98. Mital Vindict has sustained an injury in battle...
  99.
  100. Mital Vindict has rolled 2 or over: they may escape capture attempts (unless otherwise specified)!
  101. --------------------
  102.
  103. There were no more words to be had, nothing more to be said as they clashed. The Qilin dodged under blows, around them, swinging in unpredictable patterns with the gravity. His body screamed with every blow that did land, especially the ones unmitigated by his mana.
  104.
  105. For every blow three blows he avoided, it felt like the fourth that landed had all the stored fury of those within it. He couldn't win a brawling match.
  106.
  107. But who said the Qilin was ever one to brawl, or for that matter, to be fair?
  108.
  109. The flames extinguished as the hammerblow came from above, one that would have pulped flesh and turned bone to fragments and dust. His glaive dropped, both hands rising to catch it, the leylines burning on his skin. The perfect defense wasn't avoiding the attack, after all.
  110.
  111. It was turning it against your opponent.
  112.
  113. That force boomed through the forest with a shockwave, his hands wreathed in mana. The right came back, practically shaking from the stored energy, and Mital was right before him. The fist crashed forward, carrying the flames, the energy, the vindication of his duty.
  114.
  115. Hurling the Nagual chieftain to the ground with the blow. "I'm... I'm really tired of the self-righteous bullshit that comes out of you people. You blind yourselves to your own horror and turn the nobility of never kneeling into tyranny."
  116.
  117. He staggered forward, breath coming heavily. His right hand came up, bands of mana snapping from the ground around Mital, fluid like chains, wrapping around limbs, around the torso. Scorching, branding.
  118.
  119. Mana gathered in his palms, flames pooling. "Give me a last word to remember you by, before I end your incurable blight."
  120. (Katashi Vu)
  121.
