  1. 100 Questions - Copper
  2.
  3. If your character wasn’t an adventurer, what livelihood would they lead?
  4. The life of a Crime Lord.
  5.
  6. Who in the party would your character trust the most with their life?
  7. Crow, without question.
  8.
  9. What are your character’s core moral beliefs?
  10. Morals are a joke. The lifeblood of this world is gold, and while you're worrying about your morals somebody like me is taking your share.
  11.
  12. What relationship does your character have with their parents and siblings?
  13. I never had any siblings, and my parents are dead to me.
  14.
  15. Does your character have any biases for or against certain races?
  16. Elves are gorgeous, too bad they're so reluctant to go a-whoring. Practically all tallfolk are half-clueless, however. Dwarves are mostly dumb brutes with a boring, stuffy sense of "propriety". Saddest of all, most halflings are an embarrassment.
  17.
  18. What is your character’s opinion on nobility? On authority?
  19. Nobility, on its face, is a great racket; have people's respect, hell even tax them, because some guy in a hat gave you a name? Not a bad scheme. But it does make you a target, and if you don't have the cunning to back that up, that makes you prey. Authority is meant to be subverted; all life is one big game of thief and gaoler, and whoever gets the most coin wins.
  20.
  21. Describe your character’s current appearance: clothes, armor, scars they’ve picked up along the journey, etc.
  22. Copper is a surprisingly handsome halfling, albeit in a chronic state of dishevelment. He dresses in fine clothing almost out of cynicism, wearing them til they're booze-stained and half worn-through. His weapons and armor, however, are kept in peak condition, as all killing tools should be.
  23.
  24. What location encountered in the campaign has your character felt the most “at home” in, or just generally liked the most?
  25. Nowhere is home like the Doxy. In fact, nowhere ever has been.
  26.
  27. What deity, if any, does your character worship? What’s their opinion on other people’s worship?
  28. Worship, what a laugh. Can you imagine thinking so little of yourself that you'd prostrate yourself and beg for charity. What the peasantry call 'gods' are just people who managed to get hold of big magic. People have flaws; deep flaws, and so do these 'gods'.
  29.
  30. If your character had time to pick up any artisan’s tools, game set, instrument, etc., what would it be?
  31. I'd love to get my hands on a rigged set of dice for Tumbling Crowns.
  32.
  33. Describe your character’s current relationship with the other player characters.
  34. Well, there's Crow, my big buddy. Some people might suggest that solid friendships can't be built on a mutual love of violence, drinking, other vice, and gold, but what the fuck do they know? Can't believe the sucker got married, though. Damn fool move. The other damn fool in that little tangle, Rabbit, is thankfully nice to look at, because she sure can't fucking decide if she wants to be a healer, a warrior, or some kind of namby-pamby philanthropist type, and often switches between the three at full random. Speaking of namby-pamby, there's also Joran. Great to have around when you need music to get a crowd going, but gods don't get him talking off the stage or it's elves this and chimera that. Interminable.
  35.
  36. What is your character’s current goal, summed up in one sentence?
  37. To be blunt, I'm looking to get hold of big magic.
  38.
  39. Does your character ever want to “settle down” with a spouse, children, house, etc.?
  40. FUCK no. Ideally a franchise of whorehouses scattered across the empire, and enough gold to keep a small harem for myself would be plenty fine however.
  41.
  42. Has your character ever been in love?
  43. ... yes, once.
  44.
  45. What battle in the campaign has been most memorable to your character?
  46. While I wasn't in my own body (long story), I did have quite a memorable night stealing masks from imperials. A shame none of my crowd saw that go down, that was an impressive display of my many, many skills.
  47.
  48. If your character wasn’t whatever class they are, what would they be instead?
  49. A Fighter.
  50.
  51. What is your character’s favorite season?
  52. Summer. The heat makes people thirsty, horny, and crazy, and the skin comes out to enjoy the sun. It's brilliant.
  53.
  54. What would your character’s Zodiac sign be, following stereotypical astrology?
  55. Scorpio.
  56.
  57. Where in the world does your character most want to visit?
  58. I've heard those easterners get up to some real weird fun, and have intriguing new drugs, so I wouldn't mind heading into Daiju territory.
  59.
  60. What is the biggest mistake your character has ever made?
  61. Look... that wasn't my fault. It... I was young, I didn't know my own strength. It wasn't my fault, it was that fat, disgusting fuck. I... I just got so angry... I lost control. Why the fuck am I even talking about this? That was a lifetime ago. You know what? Fuck you.
  62.
  63. Does your character have any noticeable scars? If so, what are their stories?
  64. I mean, it ain't exactly noticeable, but there was some scarring from that rash I had on my- oh, you know, I don't think that's what you were asking about.
  65.
  66. What animal best represents your character?
  67. Probably the rat. What a noble and under-valued animal.
  68.
  69. If your character could go back in time and change one thing about their life, what would it be?
  70. You just gotta keep trying to dig up the fucking past, don't you? Don't fucking worry about my regrets or my mistakes. She and I both know what I'd change if I could, and I don't see how it's business of yours.
  71.
  72. Which other player character does your character find themselves having the most in common with?
  73. Crow, for all the reasons stated above. Though he was more fun before he went all Captain Crow or whatever his title is now. The man wasn't made for this kind of responsibility, I miss the good ol days of wild unpredictable violence built on a foundation of booze and drugs.
  74.
  75. Does your character regret any particular choice the party has made?
  76. Yeah, we should have found some way to get those goddamn gems out of the chamber with that damned oracle. So much gold just buried under the rubble. A travesty.
  77.
  78. What would your character say their best trait would be?
  79. They don't call me the three-legged halfling for nothing.
  80.
  81. What is your character’s greatest fear? Deep, irrational?
  82. My fears are pretty rational all in all: hunger, thirst, isolation, poverty, commitment, responsibility, and a sober life of bloodless boredom.
  83.
  84. What is currently motivating your character to stay with the party?
  85. They're my friends. Even Joran when he's not talking. You have to understand, the world is an ugly, cruel place, and a man alone is quickly made a victim. With friends at your back, people you can trust, you can carve out a little safety, even grift a little pleasure. That means that friendship is one of the most important things there is, worth even more than gold or liquor, because without friends neither is worth half as much.
  86.
  87. What are your character’s hobbies and interests outside of their class?
  88. Well if you'd say that making money is a part of my 'class', my hobbies would probably be boozing and whoring. And cooking, I do love to cook.
  89.
  90. What would most people think when they first see your character?
  91. Assuming they aren't my target, probably something like, "Fuck, where in the nine hells did that little bastard come from!?"
  92.
  93. What stereotypical group role does your character play in the party? (The Mom, the Mess, the Comic Relief, etc. Optionally: What role would your character play in the “Five Man Band” structure?)
  94. I think I've probably shit myself too many times to be called anything but 'the Mess'. Thanks be to prestidigitation spells.
  95.
  96. What is your character the most insecure about?
  97. Look, by halfling standards I'm actually pretty tall. At least like, average. Kinda bullshit for tallfolk to treat me like I'm short. Freaks.
  98.
  99. What person does your character admire most?
  100. If I ever hear about anybody worthy of my admiration, I'll let you know.
  101.
  102. What does your character admire and dislike the most about the other player characters?
  103. Well, Crow is a hell of a fighter, and brews absolutely killer booze. That said, he can be a real tight-ass; like, man, now and again you can take the chip off your shoulder and give it a rest. Like who cares about 'family' anyway? What are they, a bunch of stupid people you didn't have any choice but to get stuck with. Better off bailing on that and forgetting about them, I say. As for Rabbit, the girl is god-damned pretty, and she's all nice and shit all the time, which is normally something I hate but from her it's kinda okay. That said she's fucking clueless about how the world actually works, and for fuck sakes Rabbit if you're gonna waste all your gold, you should just give to me. Joran's pretty handy to have in a fight, and people drink and hire my girls a lot more when he's working the crowd, so that's good. That said, he'd be a hell of a lot more fun to be around if he could conjure up a decent personality for himself.
  104.
  105. Why is your character’s lowest stat their lowest (the in-character reason, not “because there’s no reason for a wizard to have 16 strength, duh”)?
  106. Common sense is common, so why the fuck should I bother? Intellect is rare, and given the choice between being good at knowing the shit everybody else knows, and being able to learn the stuff that few people will ever manage, I choose the latter.
  107.
  108. What would be your character’s theme song/favorite band/favorite genre of music?
  109. I really like Dwarven drinking songs. They're low-brow in all the right ways.
  110.
  111. What stereotypical role would your character play in a high school AU/if they attended a normal high school? (Nerd, jock, bully, goth, etc.)
  112. Copper would probably be a school shooter, haha.
  113.
  114. What treasure/item/artifact that your character has collected during the adventure is the most important to them?
  115. I got a pretty cool hat when we were in that shitty night-realm. Wish I could get that slight aroma of piss out of it, but honestly that could be said of almost anything I wear.
  116.
  117. Is there any particular weapon, item, etc. that your character longs to find?
  118. I'm looking for big magic, I'm not particular about the form it takes.
  119.
  120. Where does your character feel the most at home?
  121. At the Doxy, drinking Crow's own brew and poking fun at Rabbit drinking fucking milk, while Joran riles up the crowd and Nora's fat ass puts my leg to sleep. Good times.
  122.
  123. Does your character care about how they’re perceived by others? How do they change themselves to fit in with other people?
  124. Nah, people are fucking stupid. If I'm pretending to be something other than I am, it's because somebody is about to die and I don't want them to see it coming.
  125.
  126. What does your character think is the true meaning of life?
  127. Hedonism. We're all a bunch of rabid, low animals, and the only truth in life is that most things feel bad, and some things feel good. Thus the meaning of life is to get as much of the feeling good as you can, while avoiding the feeling bad.
  128.
  129. What is your character’s scent? (Bonus points for a description that sounds like it could be from a bad [or awesome] fanfic.)
  130. Stale beer and often the faint smell of piss.
  131.
  132. Does your character think more with their heart or their brain?
  133. I think with my brain, unless my friends get up to some stupid shit that means I gotta follow my heart and do similarly stupid shit.
  134.
  135. What is your character’s most recent or frequent nightmare?
  136. I don't usually remember the details... but often there's running, tears, and starvation... and sometimes I wake up with balled fists and aching hands. That's normal, right?
  137.
  138. What opinion does your character have on [CERTAIN ESTABLISHED GROUPS/AUTHORITIES IN THE GAME WORLD]? (Dragonmarked Houses, royal crown, etc.)
  139. Targets, targets everywhere, and so many spoils to collect.
  140.
  141. How did your character spend their childhood? Where did they grow up/who were their childhood friends?
  142. After I ran away from home I spent some years with a traveling carnival. Not, ah... not great times. I... my friends were good people... a shame I had to leave them the way I did.
  143.
  144. What aspect of your character’s future are they most curious about? (If they could know one thing about the future, what would it be?)
  145. What's the highest number of women I wind up having at the one time? I'm betting it's no less than 5.
  146.
  147. What colors are associated with your character?
  148. Red, brown, steel, and gold.
  149.
  150. Who in the party would your character prioritize rescuing, in dire circumstances?
  151. I'd rescue Rabbit. The other two can handle themselves, and if our occasional healer falls, that's a much more defensible position.
  152.
  153. Is your character the most swayed by ethos, pathos, or logos?
  154. Ethos, where that ethos is (mainly) greed.
  155.
  156. If your character was granted a single use of Wish, what would they use it for?
  157. What's the fucking point of wishing? You get the cards you're dealt, and you can wish for others but the odds are they'd just be as shitty. What, I could bring her back? Why, so we could stay in that situation? So we could continue to torture each other for his sick amusement? So the beatings and the rapes could continue? Oh, maybe I could wish she'd never found her way to the carnival, so her drunk bastard of a father could keep doing basically the same shit? What; you wanted to fucking go there. Too dark for you? You keep pressing me for my regrets, well I don't think you know how far down that fucking road goes. I don't wish. I act. I make for myself the life I want to have. The past is dead, so maybe you can smarten the fuck up and stop trying to pry it open.
  158.
  159. What is your character’s favorite spell? If they don’t use spells: what is their favorite personal weapon/combat maneuver/skill/etc.?
  160. A nice sneak attack from the shadows never goes astray. The look of shock and surprise on a dying person's face is unbelievably amusing.
  161.
  162. How does your character feel about keeping secrets from the rest of the party?
  163. My business is my business, and when I want to keep something to myself there's usually a good reason for it.
  164.
  165. What type of creature in the world is your character the most intrigued by?
  166. Women.
  167.
  168. When they were a child, what did your character want to be, or think they were going to be, when they grew up?
  169. You just can't fucking leave it alone, can you? I wanted a lot of things. First I just wanted to be free. Then, when I realized what that costs, I just wanted to be hers, and to have her be mine. When that... when that went the way it went, I just wanted to live and not starve.
  170.
  171. The player character that makes sense in context admits that they’re passionately in love with your character. How would your character respond?
  172. What, Rabbit? I'd have to get Joran to see what spell somebody had cast on her, because that would be retarded.
  173.
  174. If somebody (an NPC, someone from their backstory, etc.) your character trusts/loves asked your character to do something against the party’s best interest, who would they side with?
  175. There's nobody outside the party I trust, and nobody at all that I love.
  176.
  177. Does your character value their own best interest more than the party’s?
  178. Yes and no. When my best interests are mutually exclusive with the party's best interest, I favor the party. But when it doesn't hurt my friends to chase my own greed, you better believe I give chase.
  179.
  180. What decision would the party have to make in order for your character to consider splitting off from the group?
  181. Haha, I imagine if they tried to have a gods-damned intervention for me I'd consider it. But it's not very likely.
  182.
  183. How does your character imagine the way they will die?
  184. From a heart-attack in the throes of passion with a legendary beauty, drunk and high, laying on a mountain of gold surrounded by other beautiful women.
  185.
  186. What is your character’s greatest achievement?
  187. Honestly I think making it this far has been pretty impressive.
  188.
  189. Is your character willing to risk the well-being of others in order to achieve their goal?
  190. My friends? No. Anybody or everybody else? Why not.
  191.
  192. What is your character’s opinion on killing others?
  193. More than a necessary evil, killing people is fun. It's a rush, and it's the most concrete proof there is that I'm better than they are. Stronger, faster, smarter. It's a good time.
  194.
  195. What is your character’s favorite food? Beverage?
  196. I could never choose a favorite; variety is the spice of life. But to avoid a non-answer I'll say that my own cooking is the best I've had, and Crow brews the finest spirits I've had.
  197.
  198. How generous is your character? Especially to those they don’t know?
  199. Hahahahahahaha.
  200.
  201. What is your character the most envious about, regarding anyone in the party?
  202. Kinda bullshit that Crow got to have Rabbit before I got a turn with her, but oh well. Bloody height-queen.
  203.
  204. The player character to your left and the player character to your right are both telling your character two different versions of the truth. Who does your character believe?
  205. Suppose we're talking about Crow and Rabbit, while it'd be a tough call, it'd be Rabbit. Crow probably wouldn't lie, but Rabbit's too naive to, and I'm sure if she did I could see right through her.
  206.
  207. What is your character’s sexuality/relationship with sex?
  208. Well, as you might imagine from prying into my darker corners, it's pretty fucked up.
  209.
  210. What is your character’s biggest pet peeve?
  211. Stupid assholes who ask an endless barrage of stupid, needless, inappropriate questions.
  212.
  213. Describe how your character feels about the party’s current situation/objective/etc.
  214. These primitives on Korvir are something of a drag. Piss-poor beer, they won't hire my girls, and you could have better conversation with some of the rocks and trees around here (which I'm fairly sure is what they do for fun). But pay is pay, and war means plenty of it, so we'll see how it plays out and hope to catch any coins that slip through the cracks.
  215.
  216. Who in the party would your character trust the most to keep an important secret?
  217. Crow knows most of my secrets, though how much he remembers of any of them is questionable, since those conversations usually happen in a state of superhuman drunkenness.
  218.
  219. If your character knew that they were going to die in a month, how would they spend the rest of their life?
  220. Well, finding a way not to die in a month would be a start, but if that's off the table I'd spend the time drunker than I've ever been. Probably wouldn't survive the month, haha.
  221.
  222. What makes your character feel safe?
  223. I generally feel pretty safe hanging out in Crow's shadow. Thereabouts, even if the shadows don't keep me safe, that comical big sword of his usually does the job.
  224.
  225. If your character had the chance to rename the party/give the party a name, no questions asked, what would it be?
  226. What's wrong with the Iron Wolves? I can't think of anything better, and what's in a name anyway?
  227.
  228. What memory does your character want to forget the most?
  229. If you haven't managed to put that together by now, there's simply no fucking hope for you.
  230.
  231. If your character had to multiclass into a class they currently aren’t the next time they level up, what would it be and what reason would they have for doing so?
  232. I reckon learning a Wizard's trade could make my goal of big magic a bit easier to accomplish.
  233.
  234. What television/book/video game/etc. character would your character be best friends with? (Or: what media character is your character the most influenced by/similar to?
  235. Media tends to avoid romanticizing the kinds of people Copper would get along with.
  236.
  237. What unusual talents does your character possess?
  238. I'm unusually good at solving problems, though my preferred way of doing so is by the blade.
  239.
  240. How does your character feel about receiving/giving orders? Are they more of a leader, or a follower?
  241. Influence is far better than command. I lead without leading, and follow without following.
  242.
  243. What does your character’s name represent to them? (Or: why as a player did you choose your character’s name?)
  244. You wanna know where my name comes from? Fine. You've asked enough stupid shit by now, I can give you a story. After I left the carnival, I had to try and make it on my own. Being that I was a killer on the run, I tried to avoid any settlements, spending most of the winter scraping by on what I could forage in the wild. Eventually I couldn't do it any more. I was sick, and starving, and I had to try my luck in one of the towns. Not only did nobody seem to be on the lookout for a killer kid, nobody seemed to pay me any mind at all. So I became a beggar. It wasn't exactly lucrative; I starved a little slower, but I was going to die. Anyway, it hit a breaking point one day. This smug fuck in his finery, lily-white hands and all... most of em, see, most of em wouldn't even see you. But the look this fucker gave me, like I was the scum of the earth. Some poor starving kid. I followed him. I didn't even know what I was going to do, but I followed him, and alone in a little walk-through between two streets, I took his belt knife off him and before I even knew what I was doing I had him bleeding out all over his fine frilly clothes. Honestly, it felt good. I patted him down til I found his coin pouch, the only shit he had on him really, and inside I found out just how rich this smug fucking piece of shit was. One copper coin. Well I took his knife, I spent that coin on a meal, and I took it for my name. That knife would earn me plenty more as time went on, and I swore to myself I'd never starve again.
  245.
  246. Is your character more of an introvert, or an extrovert?
  247. As someone who generally tries to avoid notice, I'd call myself more an introvert.
  248.
  249. How far is your character willing to go to pursue the “greater good”? Do they believe in a greater good at all?
  250. Hahaha. Good. What is that even. The things I call good are definitely not what most would call that, and greater good? I don't even know what that means.
  251.
  252. What does your character want to be remembered by?
  253. I'd like for my friends to remember me. I don't know what for, but I'd like that.
  254.
  255. What would be your character’s major in college?
  256. Business.
  257.
  258. Does your character consider themselves a hero, villain, or something else?
  259. Heroes and villains are ideas for babies that come straight out of fairy tales. The great 'heroes' of history committed more atrocities than the worst villains in any story. I'm just a man, honest when it suits me, a pleasure-seeker by nature, and a killer when it feels right.
  260.
  261. What major arcana tarot card best represents your character?
  262. The Fool.
  263.
  264. Where does your character see themselves in 20 years?
  265. Probably dying of a heart attack in the throes of pleasure with a legendary beauty, drunk and high, laying on a mountain of gold surrounded by other beautiful women.
  266.
  267. What is your character’s relationship with magic? Are they scared of it, wish to know more about it, indifferent to it?
  268. I wish I'd had some way to know much earlier in life what an avenue to power magic can be. But by hook or by crook, I'll get my big magic eventually.
  269.
  270. Who is your character’s biggest rival?
  271. I've been hearing a lot about this one guy, Damien Kell. We'll have to see how that turns out.
  272.
  273. What is your character’s guiltiest pleasure?
  274. Alright... after all I've told you so far what could a little more hurt. Sometimes after sex with Nora, I like to just kinda hold fast to her, like just laying there together in the warmth of each other. I know that must be weird, but whatever, I like it.
  275.
  276. What does your character hope for the afterlife?
  277. Sorta hoping to avoid it, honestly.
  278.
  279. Who in the party does your character trust the least?
  280. Joran. The man's motivations are usually pretty questionable, and also he looks enough like a woman to earn some suspicion.
  281.
  282. What is your character’s biggest flaw?
  283. What, me? I mean I've been told by several women that it's actually too big. Leaves em sore, especially going in the back way.
  284.
  285. How did your character learn the languages that they speak?
  286. Most I learned as a natural consequence of my birth, though Thieves' Cant I picked up when I started plying my trade as a knife-hand.
  287.
  288. What is your character’s favorite school of magic/type of weaponry?
  289. Divination seems to have a lot going for it. Information is a scoundrel's best friend, after all.
  290.
  291. What is most important to your character: health, wealth, or happiness?
  292. Wealth. With enough wealth you can buy the other two.
  293.
  294. What advice would your character give to a younger version of themselves?
  295. Kill the fat fuck, and take the three of them into the woods before it gets bad. You won't be ready, but it'll be a hell of a lot easier than doing it alone.
  296.
  297. Are there any social or political issues your character feels strongly about?
  298. I want to see the Empire fall, and a world of vice and freedom to spring up in its absence.
