  4.
  5. Full name: Emiko Hatanaka
  6.
  7. Nickname: Emi (stage name), Emi-Emi (by fans; perhaps one of the more playful members uses it, too), Emi-senpai (ironically used by fans)
  8.
  9. Face claim: Hana (Gugudan)
  10.
  11. Backup face claim: Haebin (Gugudan)
  12.
  13. Slot: The shy visual
  14.
  15. Backup slot: The secret satan
  16.
  17. Birthdate: 5th of November, 1994
  18.
  19. Age: 21 (Internationally); 22 (Korean) (I'm not sure about the Korean age unfortunately, I researched it as best as I could though)
  20.
  21. Height and weight: 168cm; 50kg
  22.
  23. Birthplace: Osaka, Japan
  24.
  25. Hometown: Seoul, Korea
  26.
  27. Nationality: Japan
  28.
  29. Ethnicity: Korean-Japanese
  30.
  31. Blood type: A
  32.
  33. Personality: Emi is shy, introverted and sometimes afraid to speak her mind around others. Before becoming a trainee, she has been told countless times by her mom and dad to stop being so introverted and to start talking to people, making friends. She believes that this advice is useless and that she shouldn't have to change who she is just because her parents want her to. (She gets surprisingly worked up/touchy at the topic of her parents in general, mostly because they wanted her to have a different profession than the one she chose, and because they never accepted her as an introverted person.)
  34.
  35. She's generally a nice person. Although she never starts conversations with others first, if someone else tries to talk with her, she chats back kindly. Social interactions don't bother her as long as she isn't the one initiating first contact.
  36.
  37. Emi tends to stutter (and blush a lot while doing so). Though her grasp of the Korean language is pretty fluent, she still tends to forget certain phrases and words. This is a bit of a problem, as sometimes when she's in the middle of a sentence, she will suddenly pause and say things like "Um, uh, hm" under her breath until finally realizing what the Korean phrase is. At times she stammers not because of her Japanese roots, but because of her shyness (this often occurs in front of crowds). Some find her stuttering cute, but whenever she does it, all she feels is shame and regret.
  38.
  39. Emi is generally a bit of a pushover; way too nice. Her non-assertive personality makes her agree to any favor anyone asks of her, no matter how tedious or stupid it may be. Deep in her mind she may know that what she's getting herself into is dumb, but she'll still do it because she doesn't want the person (who asked her of the favor) to be disappointed. Example: she often indulges in aegyo not because she wants to, but because it's what the others (members, fans) ask of her, and though it makes her feel really embarrassed, she's glad the members/fans liked it.
  40.
  41. Emi is secretly a bit of a romantic, though no one knows this. She often buys romance novels and reads them, wishing to herself how lucky she would be if she ever met that special someone - someone who not only tolerated her shyness, but found it to be one of the attractive things about her. Someone who loved and accepted her for all her flaws and introvertedness. Occasionally Emi tries to do crafts (drawing, writing), and though she's not very good at any of that, she still practices it a lot in her spare time (she mostly spends spare time doodling or reading).
  42.
  43. Off stage and on stage persona: Off stage, Emi is sweet, shy and introverted. On stage it's a little different, since group dances require a bit of confidence, but she's generally the same person. Her voice falters in her singing almost as often as she stammers in her speech, but usually she performs decently anyway.
  44.
  45. Personal greeting: "Annyeonghaseyo, Hatanaka Emiko imnida." (She keeps it formal and plain because she doesn't want to risk seeming rude. She also doesn't try to say anything funny because she fears people finding it unfunny.)
  46.
  47. Trivia: She's a big fan of aesthetics. The only social media account she runs is an Instagram, @emiemi_senpai, but instead of posting selfies, she often posts landscape shots, aesthetic pictures and photos of other members. She also loves animals a lot, and gets really sad when remembering the kiba inu (named Hinata) her family left back in Osaka when they flew to Korea.
  48.
  49. Family members: Emi's family is rather backwards in terms of positions. Her father, Taro, is the stay-at-home mom, if that makes any sense - he cooks most of the meals and rarely leaves the house, but this is because he works on his easily accessible computer as a graphic designer. While Emi feels disdainful towards her parents, she likes her father considerably more than her mother, because while he does tell her to change her personality, he does it calmly, and never raises his voice. (He's also the one who drove to and took her back from school.)
  50.
  51. While Emi doesn't really hate her mother, Cha Mijung, she still questions if she even loves the woman like a daughter is supposed to. Her mother used to work all day in some office, gone for most of the day, which Emi was okay with, because when she came back, the arguments sometimes erupted. Throughout her childhood, Emi's mother had always been strict, telling her to focus on her mathematical studies and whatnot instead of pursuing what she wanted to. Being scouted was, to Emiko, like a new beginning, and although things were uncertain and scary, she much preferred her new lifestyle to her old one.
  52.
  53. Background: Hatanaka Emiko was born in Osaka. Her family moved from Japan to Korea while she was still quite young, which gave her some time to adapt to her surroundings before school started. When she finally did go to her first class, she was incredibly quiet, and always stood in the corner. Luckily the other kids were mostly friendly, and Emi felt extremely grateful to them for accepting her so easily despite her being Japanese.
  54.
  55. Things were okay until the time when middle school began. The other kids stopped being so open and friendly. It was a good thing that Emi had gotten a decent grasp on the Korean language by then, because for the next few years the only comrades she had were the people who went to the same extra-curricular activities as her (her mother made her go to a lot). One of them was dancing, and another was singing. They were the lessons Emiko liked most.
  56.
  57. After an extremely heated argument with her mother one evening, Emi decided she would audition to be an idol. When it finally came to the time when she had to perform, she doubted herself, thinking that maybe she'd done this recklessly. Maybe she'd only done it in a fit of rebellion towards her mother, but before she could back out it was her turn to audition. Somehow, perhaps thanks to her wonderful visuals, she succeeded, and she felt happy.

  61. Love interest: Jackson Wang
  62.
  63. Backup love interest: Im Jaebum
  64.
  65. His personality: Jackson Wang is weird, eccentric, extroverted and likeable. He makes friends very easily and can turn any situation from awkward to comfortable. He engages easily in conversation, and is usually the one to initiate it in the first place. He's very eager when talking and making jokes. Very expressive, and always knows how to lighten the mood.
  66.
  67. First impressions:
  68. Jackson to Emiko: Way too quiet. What was with this girl? Why didn't she look him in the eyes when he spoke to her? Was it something he did? She was pretty cute, but her introverted personality seemed like a bit of a backlash.
  69. Emiko: She felt terrible acting shy around him. He seemed like such an upbeat, awesome guy, and she couldn't even bring herself to look him in the eyes. How stupid! She hoped she got to talk to him again with more confidence.
  70.
  71. How your character acts around him: At first, Emiko acted distant, and may have come off as a bit cold, though that wasn't her intention. She felt bad for being shy around him, because she wanted to get to know him, she truly did, except her introvertedness got in the way. As they met time and time again, she learned to be more comfortable around him. In the beginning she stammered, mumbled and averted her gaze away from him. Her talking increased as she became more comfortable with him. After they got to know each other really well, she started laughing at his jokes and antics. She was also very supportive of his decisions and thanked him continuously whenever he willingly spent any time with her.
  72.
  73. How he acts around your character: He was weirded out by how quiet Emiko was in the beginning, but after meeting and talking with her a few times, he realized that she wasn't that bad. She was pretty cute, too. He was never shy around her. He was Jackson Wang, of course. His attitude toward her didn't change that much from the beginning of their relationship to its current status. Jackson was always quite eccentric. He was very open and friendly when he met Emiko and still is - except with the addition of friendly teasing added into the mix when they turn from acquaintances to close companions.
  74.
  75. Relationship: Jackson and Emiko start off as acquaintances. At first, Emiko doesn't know how to talk to Jackson due to her shyness, and Jackson finds her a bit strange because of how introverted she is. They meet again several times, though, and become allies/companions. After a while of Jackson getting Emi to warm up to him, they become close friends, indulging each other in secrets, jokes, and every other topic that comes to mind. Emi always laughs at his jokes and how weird and funny he is, and Jackson learns to appreciate Emi for how hard she tries to do her best.
  76.
  77. They're both somewhat attracted to each other's appearances and find comfort in one another's presence, so at one point they decide to take a leap of faith and start dating.
  78.
  79. Interactions: Their interactions often cute and innocent (except for when Jackson decides to be a flirt; usually his lines are cheesy, but they work on poor Emi anyway). Sometimes he jokingly calls her "queen of aegyo," "aegyo-senpai" and/or other ridiculous variations of the the dreaded word "aegyo" (which Emi sometimes regrets being good at). She simply calls him "Jackson," "oppa" or "Jackson oppa" (maybe accidentally calling him "Jackson-san/kun" once or twice, which is embarrassing, but cute).
  80.
  81. Once they're actually in a relationship, Jackson is usually the one initiating romantic moments between them, as Emi is completely inexperienced and innocent in the subject as a whole.
  82.
  83. Suggested scenes:
  84. A conversation in which they talk about their experiences of moving to Korea from their hometowns, Emiko tells Jackson about Osaka, while he tells her about his old home in China;
  85. a scene in which Jackson finds out about her secret collection of romance novels and teases her about it (maybe leading to flirting with her and she gets all flustered and blushy but idk);
  86. a scene in which Jackson shows Emi GOT7's dorm and she falls absolutely in love with Coco.
  87.

  89.
  90. Training years: 4 years
  91.
  92. How did she become a trainee: She auditioned after a heated argument with her mother one the subject of becoming an idol.
  93.
  94. Pre-debut activities: Mostly did nothing except train. Starred as an unimportant character in a k-drama once, but never had screen time, dialogue or a name.
  95.
  96. Idol relatives or friends: None, except for her fellow members.

  111.
